That final game was Serral putting all the trophies he's accrued over the years and tossing them into a giant pillow case and beating Clem over head with it.

That push is actually too fast to deal with. It's like DT forcing the scans, there's just not enough scans to cover the attacks and the creep at the same time. The multitasking to make it all come together was beautiful

Extractor trick -> 15 Hatch -> Extractor Trick -> 15 Ovie and Pool...
I don't think I've ever seen an opener like that in a pro game. 2 extractor tricks to avoid wasting minerals on an overlord early? That's certainly a way to minimize economic losses.
@@Brainth1780 3 minute lair 2nd gas roach warren, 340 third and ovie speed, push with 2 queen, 8-10 roach dropperlords when lair finishes, get evos at 5, +1+1 at 6, infest/hydra den on 120 supply, 7 minute ish hive+lurker den. Final fight at 190 supply at 9 had 6 lurker 22 roach 23 lings 4 queen 2 viper and few hydras

Serral at the end acting like a campaign nightmare mode zerg is the coolest thing I've seen today
I was like "Uh oh, here comes Clem's counterattack OH WAIT he has a half dozen lurkers waiting already."
Like wtf. I could barely keep track of all the whacky shit he was doing absolutely all over the map, and it's like he had another person managing his economy and production back at home for him.
"So Widow Mines, definitely a double edge grenade, which hum, sounded dumb... well I'm standing by it. (nervous chuckles) Which is you know, just grenades, I think."
And this is why Winter is still the best caster to this day.

@@christianclark9494 pffft. The top 3 are easily rotterdam, the pylon combo (which count as one caster as far as I’m concerned) and winter.
It's spider mines but no vulture...and hits air...and is reusable

Serral incrementally getting better with each game; from getting dunked on, to losing a tough fight, to winning a tough fight, to dunking on Clem, and finally just straight up trolling lol
That's really the #1-in-the-world different; the mental stamina of Serral to just keep fighting, and get better over the course of a series instead of worse.
I've not been having a good time lately and your casting has been a huge lift. Just wanted to say thanks.
Holy shit, that last game, I have no idea how to describe it.
In the first 4 games it felt like watching a race between two cars which are quite well matched.
And in the 5th game Serral decided to just go into a higher gear which he hadn't used in race 1-4.
The last game was like watching Real Madrids greatest team ever around 2000 - it can't get any better than that, perfection on the field.
He switched to a helicopter :D
When you see something as a machine you miss the art. Serral might just be the greatest sc2 masterwork we will ever see.
As an engineer I think machines are beautiful 😢
@@bensosnowski1128 it’s been a long time since if encountered a machine with any heart put into its creation. Japan and Boston dynamics both out great effort and love into their creations but that standard is dropping off dramatically in modern day.

Felt like he needed to warm up, throwing a bit to the first helions, barely losing the second long game, then just absolutely domonating more and more each consecutive game.
I know you can't hear us laughing to every subtle joke WinterStarcraft but I really wish you could. Just imagine it every time you cast. Imagine a stadium filled with 30k of your regular fans cheering, laughing and reacting to the game and your commentary.
Clems micro is unreal. The splits and the bile avoidance was insane!

I am also undefeated against serral.
In game 4 Serral went extractor trick into 15 hatch, then 14 overlord and 14 pool. So Winter was right that it was a drone cut instead of a pool first.
Also holy cow that 5th game!
And in the 5th game he took it a step further and went Extractor trick into 15 hatch into ANOTHER extractor trick into 15 overlord and 15 pool.
1 and a half hours of casting goodness. This is definitely going to make my day a good one today!
The funny thing is Clem was actually countering it pretty well last game, he caught quite a few creep tumors before they spread, and defended the 3-front attack quite well. He still lose but this could be so much worse. I want to see Serral use this build on other Terrans. Oliveira practiced with Serral all the time and according to him he haven't found an answer to this build yet since Serral used it on him in practice.
Serral has just started a new renaissance in zerg strategy. Cargo Lords meta here we come!

god, I love liberators. I hope we see a game where smart servos are upgraded. I think the increase in the speed of sieging up is highly underrated. there are already a number of occasions where sieging and unsieging them quicker would have made so much difference in a fight. I hope they get used more.

The meandering prologue to " a wee bit earlier" was the right call, winter. That is precisely the kind of professional commentary that keeps me rubbing my likes and subscribes together.

In game 1 (5:00) the reason Serral stopped the creepdrop and then resumed it later was because he didnt want Clem to see the creep on the minimap when he flies out with the first drop and then consequently kill his overlord early.
This way Clem would have been able to spot the overlord only, if he was looking at the minimap while flying next to the ovi.
Ideally Clem only spots it, when his 3rd is trying to land.
Serral clearly took a page out of Marus book here: When everything is on the line and you're in game 5, you gotta cheese

that last game was clearly a build well prepared and used as a joker for the matchpoint. Great strategy !
he obviously studiyed Dark's style and perfected this strategy into a standard build. By the time the terran counter attacks there is a full army with vipers, roaches, and lurkers waiting just where Serral predicted the attack to come. Prodigious.

Last game showed why Serral is the GOAT - those adjustment to get off the back foot in the early-midgame were absolutely insane, as are the APM requirements for it.

Game 5 one of the most unique ones I've ever seen, and solidifies Serral as my favorite SC/BW/SC2 player of all time. Just goated everywhere

There is such a thing as too many medivacs with limited supply. People tend to want to keep that reactor running, adding in vikings, especially against zerg is so good in builds like this. sniping the overseers out over the game really boosts the widow mine effectiveness when you're sparring.
