  • The 2022 PROTON Iriz represents the company turning a new leaf. After the "Myvi-killer" failed to really make a dent back when it was launched (at the same time MalaysianMotoring launched into the world) due to its mechanical foibles, PROTON promises that the many small visual and mechanical revisions has finally given the Iriz the capability it needs to be more relevant and purposeful on the market.
With a new 'crossover' style to it, LED headlights, a revised interior and talk of lower NVH, the Iriz Active is the B-segment hatchback that's very much of the now. But lacking active safety systems, is it even worth considering at all? We find out.

This is the Iriz that was suppose to appear for it's debut years ago.
See how partnership with a good partner provides you, Proton?

To me this is not such a bad car, but the problem lies on reliability of the engine and gearbox as previous generation owner said. Proton should increase the boot space and leg room of the Iriz, than it can have extra point over Myvi as the Myvi have more spacious leg room plus with all the active safety features. It could do with Android Auto & Apple Carplay also.
But great job to Proton engineers for the nice and awesome interior, love the new dashboard and center console looks, give out a young and fresh vibe to look at.

If only Proton would incorporate Apple Carplay and other safety assist features, I would get this in a heartbeat

another point is , the iriz has so much better quality interior wise compare to the myvi..a lot of reviewers don't mention about the very cheap and nasty plastic found on the myvi...

We don't mention it because both cars have equally nasty plastic cabins.

Iriz and persona knob controller is very very disturbing to touch. Like touching a cheap toy

i quite like this car tbh, as compared to myvi. at least what we get inside feels higher quality than any myvi or even ativa. just too bad many safety feature isnt available, if they do, then its an easy choice for me. and also the fuel consumption, which is quite high compared to myvi
