Perodua Ativa (2021) Review - It's A Winner, Alright

- Perodua has, for quite some time now, taken quite a bit of flak. Given its position as Malaysia's #1 carmaker, enjoying a marketshare in excess of 40% for some time now, the general public have long held a belief that it ought not to rest on its laurels as a purveyor of affordable cars, but instead push the market further upwards by using its capabilities to its fullest.
The Perodua Ativa then is just that car. In one fell swoop, Perodua has introduced three 'firsts' for the brand: The first turbocharged engine, the first D-CVT transmission, and the first Perodua to offer Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities. Not only that, the Ativa signifies Perodua's move to a new platform that houses all of these technological & engineering firsts, which should permeate through the rest of the range in due course.
So we give Perodua's new baby a shakedown, to see if it's all it's cracked up to be. (Spoiler alert: It is. And then some.)

Probably the best presenter in 🇲🇾 on cars.
On a side note I think the traditional cable handbrake lever is far superior than e parking brake.
Many cars with e parking brakes were plagued with caliper seal leaks, piston jam and motor failure.
love the way how you do the tour. thumbs up! like the way you speaks. not too much like how the malay did in paultan. too news reporting oriented. i like the T badge though as it just always good for the owners especially one that get the first turbo engine car to proudly tell the world he/she owns one too.

For the price alone, everything is forgiven. It's targeted for the masses, pure and simple. No frills but it has adequet tech to say the least. Want refinement and everything else, go search elsewhere. All in all, Perodua has hit a home run with this model

For us, safety should always be the #1 priority. So given that the X50 Executive does not come with any advanced driver assist features, our vote lies with the Perodua Ativa AV.

8:10 Well, I do prefer manual handbrake, so that makes me an idiot huh? EPB has higher chance of breaking down, as it was the case with the latest Vios. Also, I can choose how much locking power needed depending on the incline. Was not very wise of you to address some of your viewers as idiots.
