I found this video today at the vet. My mom passed away and we kept her furbaby… a 12 year old chihuahua. This morning at 3am she woke up with this god awful gagging cough like she couldn’t get a hairball up. I made an appointment at an emergency vet. Exam: $250, X-rays: $125 medication: 150+ was what was the estimate. I found this video waiting for the veterinarian to come in the room. Soon as she came in I asked about this and she said try this first then come see me. I did.. it worked immediately! Thank you!

Yes...today I discovered my Chihuahua Tony, was coughing and rying to cough something out. He was doing the exact same thing as the dog in this video. Tony is 16 years old and in decent health.
As the day went on he continued doing this cough. Then he went to drink water, turned around coughed, and there was a long thing coming from his mouth. At first I freaked out and thought it was a tape worm...as I got closer I noticed it was fibers from a new blanket my sister got him. The blanket is really soft and frails if pulled on. I took the blanket away and hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Doc, you're a saint. We adopted a super cute lab mix from the kill shelter recently. Unfortunately, we brought her home to our other two dogs and almost immediately we notice everyone started coughing with kennel cough. Both our existing dogs picked up the bug. We tried the recipe from your good viewer but also added some colloidal silver. Three days later, all the pups were cured. No coughs or hacking.
Thank you so much for all the amazing advice you share with everyone. God bless.

Thank you thank you thank you. My dogs's vet is a firm believer is anything but natural remedies, and I genuinely hate to say it but he really like what's in my pocket book. She does have a heart murmur since a puppy, we knew that but always fit and normally active. We have been keeping track her coughing & recently putting it down to excitement, that triggers the cough. The vet could find nothing wrong with her, other than her heart murmur. We gave her honey last night two separate times. She coughed once a bit. We'll continue and see how it goes. I was also going to get your 3 suggestions and CoQ10. Vet said her heart was stage 5 out of 6.

My dog has horrible episodes of wheezing upon inhalation and sometimes gagging w coughing. This has been going on for almost a year and getting worse. Banfield always had an excuse as to why they can't see it and should do a $250 chest x-ray, even though th his lungs are clear according to the vet and myself (I have stethoscope bc Im a rn, but now I can hear it by putting my ear on his neck)I can hear the problem in the throat to the point I'm losing sleep. I had a wellness plan w banfield but I'm actually paying for a consult elsewhere bc Banfield had me return 3x for insane reasons and literally said "he freaked out" . A 19 lb dog who has never bitten anyone or any animal, including bunnies, cats, squirrels and others he has actually played with. Getting a chest xray after we all concur it isn't the lungs, seems like a money grab. Same people who couldn't allow me to be w him bcof COVID, but the tech talking to me had a mask under his nose the entire time. I wasted a year w them.

@@lisalarson9860 I actually have had 3 more vet appts and did a throat X-ray. His throat looked good, although trachea issues don't always show, but I also wanted to rule out that there wasn't a growth or piece of toy stuck. I also did a run of antibiotics bc his wbc was slightly elevated and the new vet said he had an enlarged prostate in addition to the breathing. While he was at his worst, he lost 3lbs and was v lethargic. I got a pulse oximeter and started checking him throughout the day, and noticed nights after his meal were usually the worst. I cut his meal size and started trying to make him eat multiple small meals which seems to have helped bc he isn't gagging except occasionally. I also give him a half a dose of benadryl at bedtime, so he sleeps better and his O2 sats seem better as well. He is about 85% back to his normal self and wants to go for his 3-4 mile trots, so his energy is returning. I am still going to try this bc it can't hurt. I was so upset that I actually started to order an oxygen concentrator online, but canceled at the last second when his numbers weren't that bad, but I stopped ordering online until I made sure my acct was straight. I will probably order this tonight. Now that his breathing seems better and isn't noisy at night, I'm losing more sleep bc I cant hear him and I get up to stare at him to make sure he is okay. He is a great pup and I fear I could die from broken heart syndrome/Takotsubo cardiomyopathy if anything happens to him. I will update.

What is the dandelion for? I didn't have that.
      💙Fact I had acid reflux
From a horrible surgery. Went in for ovary surgery and came out with my throat and esophagus messed up. I struggled with doctors after doctors trying to get relief. Finally my uncle who believes in nature everything, made me some slippery elm tea from dried bark. It was beautiful and tasted wonderful and soothed every thing almost down to my soul.

My dog was gagging all the time. Vet all but ignored our concerns. He’d lick up everything on the floor trying to throw up. He’d finally throw up what looked like huge hair balls, and everything he licked up. I gave him canned pumpkin for a week mixed in with his food. It helped a lot. No more washing all the floors.

I thought my dog had a foxtail in her throat. She was coughing & coughing & panting, drooling & very upset. After 2 hours of this I called the vet. It was Memorial Day & all 3 emergency vets were not taking any patients. No one would see her. I mixed together your recipe & gave it to her with a 3cc syringe & some CBD. I dosed her every 15 minutes for 3 doses & she was so much better. Then every time she started coughing I gave her a dose. That night she slept through the night. In the morning she was not coughing but drooling a lot & felt really unwell. The Vet scoped her esophagus. She did not have a sticker but her entire throat, soft pallet, etc was extremely red & swollen. They gave her a cortisone shot for the swelling & I continued to give her your honey, slippery elm & dandelion mixture. Today -2days later she seems fine. She had been eating grass to make herself throw up, which she did but then she kept eating more grass & throwing up & then she seemed frantic & was trying to eat the rose bush…she made herself vomit 4 times-huge amounts of grass. The vet thinks all of that is was caused the damage in her throat. Thank you for your helpful video.

I am so happy I found this. I have been dealing with this from my mini pinn I just rescued about a month ago. I am sure he had kennel cough when he first came home and I have been giving him the honey treatment.
I am wondering if he may also have collapsed trachea? I purchased an harness to walk him and even modified it slightly because I noticed when he pulls he does cough/gag.
Is there another harness that completely avoids throat pressure? I am working with him on walk and stop commands so no pressure is applied.

I'm definitely going to try this mixture. I felt it has been tracheal or bronchial all this time, but for the past 4 years it's been frustrating to try to get her Vets to understand me. Because she does have an enlarged heart, they just assume it's coughing because of her heart, but I don't agree because her lungs are always clear, she doesn't fatigue when running around, etc. She's 16 years old & acts very young. Her cough started a few years ago... barking, drinking water & dry air seasons all trigger it. That to me says it's in her throat. Thanks! 🤗

Hi, Dr. Jones Thank you so much for sharing all these great remedies for our fur babies. I had this issue 2 days ago with my Australian Shephard, she hacked up a huge furball in the middle of the night. My concern is that to get the furball out she ate bark from our firewood that is stored in the basement for the woodstove. That must have been painful coming back up. I gave her only soft foods with coconut oil to soothe her throat for a few days. How dangerous is it for her to swallow tree bark? I will try the honey and slippery elm I guess every couple of weeks to prevent the hairball issue and coughing she does every now and then. Thanks, I love your videos and webinars!

He coughs in the morning after he wakes up and sometime 2 times during the day. Active and full appetite otherwise. Doesn't act like a 12 yr old at all. I'm going to try this remedy. I prefer to go the natural route with him. How long does it take to see results in his coughing and should I give it to him daily from now on? So happy I found your channel. It's given me hope.

Dr. My Shepard did have a hair ball, a huge hairball. Not knowing if a dog got hairballs, that is still what I suspected it was. He seemed to be breathing funny when laying down. So I was getting worried made since to me a hairball. He had allergies to kibble dog food and was licking constantly. I began giving him big 3 tablespoons of coconut oil unrefined. A week passed and it happened He started gaging and just stood real stiff and here it came a huge hairball. Know wonder he was having problems breathing. By the size of it I would say he's lucky to be alive. Gosh that thing had to hurt. I put him on can Purinas' new instincts line . His allergies cleared up finally and the sore he liked went completely away. Nothing seemed to take that sore away not even medication from the Vet. Also I tryed one more new Purina no grain and pro plan he liked that and no allergies to it. I give small amounts mostly meats, yogurt, cottage cheese, green beans , pineapple and pumpkin topped always with some coconut oil. So a dog can I would say if they have allergies and are licking is how they are most likely toget one but not common. You are such a good man I watch you alot.
    God bless! ❤️🇺🇸🙏🐕🙏🇺🇸❤️
