Failing KETO or CARNIVORE: Are YOU Focused On Perfection or Progress?

  • Failing at a keto diet or carnivore diet can make you feel worthless, but why do we put such high expectations of perfection on ourselves from the beginning? Like, subscribe, and share to help encourage others to focus on PROGRESS in their health journey rather than beating themselves up over perfection they can't achieve. Humans aren't perfect, but we can take steps every day towards being healthier, happier, and more stable. Let's talk about how we can learn to improve our lives a little at a time and get better every day.
    Eat your meat, love your life (and make some progress)!

    Definitely progress over perfection. Focusing on perfection has sunk me so many times in my life and I have missed out on so much. Now I try to take each day at a time, with focusing on small goals. I don't always succeed, but it gives me practice on not beating myself up, too. Little steps. 😊

    Thank you for voicing the very thing I needed to hear today. I have been strict carnivore for long periods of time when I fall off the wagon with some little carby thing . I don't just fall off, I cling to the axle and bounce around on the gravel road for far too long trying to get back up. I need to let go of that wagon and catch the next one. It will be along in just a minute. In the meantime, I'll just walk in the right direction for a while.

    I wholeheartedly agree with progress rather than perfection. We are human. No matter how many days we hit perfection, sooner or later, we will be imperfect.
    Goals: July-stay on carnivore while traveling for the month; eat no more than 2 MAD daily, get in 10000 steps a day at least 4x a week
    August-continue July goals and add in water fast every Tuesday and Thursday with 2Mad on eating days
    Sept-continue August goals with at least 2 66+ hour fasts on Thursday-Friday/Saturday

    Everyone has their why..........and mine is I have to lower my blood sugar to have open heart surgery ASAP. It was postponed due to high blood sugar and my heart is a ticking time bomb. Carnivore is the only thing that will work , and is working for me to get it done as soon as possible. So, everyone has their why....some need faster resolution for major health reasons. Everyone has their own path.......and how fast they get there is up to them....and I wish all success on whatever goal there is for them!

    You are absolutely right about no need to be perfect. Carnivore diet changes life, for many people this is amazing and they grab it, for others those massive changes such as ; health improvements, weight loss, energy rise, brain fog disappearing means re evaluation of their life and often careers. I know of people who don't want improvements because they afraid they loose their social care, they often don't know any other life, exactly as you said. I thought I am stuck with simple jobs till I retire , now I am fishing my degree diploma from the bottom of the drawer. Community support is very important. Thank you both for a great video❤

    It is so true we try and fail all the time. But anything we do in the right direction is better than what we were doing. Also, when we have eaten clean for a long time and our bodies have healed we can tolerate eating non clean for a meal sometime. When we first get clean and we are still healing we learn the hard way when we eat something off. It ain’t fun so it helps us learn.

    I'm focused on not getting any more diabetic nephropathy in my feet. That is a strong motivator for me to stick with low carb. Any time I even think about being bad, the tingling in my toes tells me NO! My focus is not on perfection, just doing what I have to to stay healthy. My blood sugars used to spike to 250++ after a meal.. I got my spikes down to low 120's sometimes 110's. I got off the meds, no more insulin. I do not want to go back!

My goal is to get from now until the end of July without a single cheat. No bite of potato or anything. I'm better about not completely falling off plan, but I want to really be able to identify what other things might be causing inflammation.

    Love your video and you guys are great! I began carnivore two weeks ago and at times it is tough. I have decreased my carbs significantly but honestly I don't see how I could do this forever. Especially if I only had to eat Beef/Bacon/Butter. Right now I am having coffee with cream and whole fat cottage cheese with cream cheese and some sugar free syrup just to break up all the meat. I will continue on and tweak what I need to tweak. I need to start exercising again since I dropped off working out 8 months ago. For me changing my diet is a journey and not a race to get to my own personal goals.

    My personality is all or nothing. With all the research I did before started Carnivore, actually turns out it' Carniketo as I like to call it. Doing my best to keep carbs below 30g a day. I started this because I unexpectedly became disabled which lead me to become Pre-diabetic shortly after. With everything I learned from the extensive research, I wrote down on a white board and pounded it into my that..... I FAILED ! I will fail 1-7 days of the week. (Talking to myself on the white board) Just remember, your failure today and any other day is still astronomically better and healthier than your previous SAD ! Keep up the great work, you own this !
    My goal is a 5 parter...
    1: Reverse the pre-diabetes diagnosis
    2:Lose the 160lbs that my health issue caused me to gain
    3:Get off ALL medications( Metformin and Rosuvastatin I should have never been put on)
    4:Get and stay overall healthier
    So far, since changing my lifestyle, I am only 9lbs away from the first weight-loss goal of losing 100lbs and my A1c went from 8.7 down to 6.3. The 100lbs lost will put me at 397. From there, next goal will be 320-330, which is what my "normal" weight was before all this happened to me. Once that is reached, final weight-loss goal be 225lbs.

While we're here, how do you think your pasta recipes would work with making pulled pork ravioli or pierogis... stuff like that?

    • @CCNStudio
      @CCNStudio  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Makes sense. 😊
      So I’m trying to find a solution for that. The issue is that making raviolis or any stuffed pasta requires wrapping a raw dough around a filling and sticking it together to hold the filling in. All my pastas are a batter until cooked and can’t be filled ahead of time, but after you cook them they also won’t stick together anymore to seal the filling in. Still working on a solution for that.

    I have been carnivore for over 12 years. I was lion carnivore for over 6 years. I was clean keto for a year before carnivore. I had zero problems. My ob/gyn told me to go carnivore. I was headed that way anyway. I reversed endometriosis, migraines, nasty allergies year round, excema, brain fog and keratosis pilaris. Turns out I am food allergy ridden celiac so no gluten or flour, no grains, no nuts and seeds, no seed oils, inflammatory responses to sugar, allergic to most vegetables and to some fruit. Based on my genetics carnivore works beautiful for myself. I prefer beef. I do eat salmon. So I cannot really cheat.
    You guys do you. People should not attack you or be nasty. I have gotten death threats from vegans. Congratulations on both of your journeys. You do not need to be perfect.

    Oxalate poisoning makes eating the carnivore way very easy for me. ❤

    I want to try carnivore for 3 months. I’m planning on doing it mid August that way I’m done with the 3 months before thanksgiving. I can do keto for the holidays but not carnivore

    I'm upset. Just kidding. I love this topic.
    I do also believe that you also have to want to change. I was trying to run a recovery group with my church and finally just gave it up because nobody wanted to change. Like flat out didn't want to change anything. They just wanted to lose weight and be healthy. It was to much stress so I stopped the group.
    I do believe everyone has to start somewhere. I'm almost two years in just getting to carnivore.
    I love Dr Berrys spectrum.
    N=1 for sure.
    Now with that all out. I'm need to work back towards carnivore. I had only a couple off meals this week and my weight shot up, I'm inflamed and my blood sugars are high. Sooo back on track for me.
    My body is still healing.

    I gained on Carnivore in 5 months gained 7lbs. I had to implement salads and veggies again because I starred at 205lbs ended at 212. I wanted to lose not gain.

      Your body has a lot more to do than just lose weight and many people report gaining at first.
