Reminds me a lot of the DJ Thomas White LPG. Love that module. It’s super deep, though. I may have to get a couple of these if my Thomas White Dual LPG doesn’t fit into my future case.
excellent demo! got mine a week ago and love it! if you have a fusion vco2 handy, try running it thru LPG for some filthy results. posted a short sound demo of it a few min ago. i've come to really want a black vco, but now i might have to spend another week on modgrid reconfiguring after hearing it w/the expander. i look forward to the black sequencer video manual. i always feel the fusion and black modules are luxury line cadillac or rolls royce like you said, but that combo sounds infinite 🔥🎛🔥
Nice work as always! Man I wish Erica Synths would send me all their cool stuff, I am too poor for modular lol. Been putting together their DIY stuff to save $. Your videos on those have been helpful.
Nice demo Quincas! Love your all Erica Synths rack including the LPG and Black Sequencer man. I have an Erica Synths rack planned in the future along with some more Make Noise and Harvestman stuff.
Who says that the original Buchla LPG was only a 1st oder filter? It's a sallen key topology - should be second order -12db...or is there an earlier version than the 292?
Synth DIY Guy If you own the Erica Synths Syntrx is there an advantage to connecting it to the Black Sequencer? OR better for me to take advantage of a different Tracker\Sequencer instead: ie. Toraiz Squid; Squarp Pyramid, Hermod; Blue Arp MK II; Cirklon Sequentix; Korg SEQ 64; YorickTech LFE; etc...? Winter Eloquencer; Nerd Sequencer; Or MakeNoise Modular OR not What are your (All/)favourite Synth DIY Forums, Most complimentary Synths are Korg R3; DSI Tempest; Sequential OB-6 Dreadbox AntiPhon; and Subsequent 37 What can I do to improve myself in live performance? Other than>:(essentially my eyes are on Xone 96 94 db and 1010 BlueBox and not Play Differently --- Model 1) Thank YOU!
I don't have the Syntrx, though I'd love to :) I'm afraid I don't know enough about to make an informed recommendation, but I'm sure any of the options mentioned would be fine, depending on your preference for features and interface.
My favorite Synth DIY forum is the Facebook Page, Synth DIY. Super nice and helpful folk in there! As for your live performance improvement, I can't offer any advice without knowing what you do! Cheers :)
Looking to expand my erica bassline voice module. Which erica black series modules would you pick/recommend to pair with it if you'd have about 25 to 30 HP available?
I think the Bassline could use an EG! that way you can use the internal one for the VCA only, and the external for the filter and have much more control. And the Black LPG would give it a lot of flavor as well, maybe taking the square output to the LPG and using it's own EG with random decay and panning the Bassline and the LPG in stereo... Lot's of fun to be had :)
An LPG *is* a filter/vca combo. If you go look at Buchla’s 292 dynamics manager or the Easel, you’ll see they’re switchable between VCA, filter and combo, too.
Excellent demo! I just snagged one of Reverb and this demo has me looking forward to getting it in my rack.
Edit: ...and the Black Sequencer as well.

Excellent and thorough review again. Nice to see the black sequencer in action as well. 👍
Awesome demo, thx!

It says so in the Erica Synths page for this module, they may be wrong, of course :)

so this doesn't use a LPG but a filter/VCA with decay, right?
It is an LPG! with some extras, like a mode selector and a decay envelope :)

@@MartinDoudoroffLLC Yes, this is exactly, what the Back LPG has
