    If you are looking for a federal government job this year, there are many steps and considerations you must make. Most federal government jobs are on USAJobs and you can apply today but without an understanding of your job series and without a strong federal resume, you are likely to never even get an interview or job offer. In this video, I go through the steps to getting a federal government job this year.

    My son got his job through the recent grads hiring program they had going on at that time. One of the things that made the difference is that he talked to someone pretty high up in the general area he was applying for. The resume tips were key. He also had jobs to where one interview was good for several states. He was offered three jobs, but because they were in the same hiring interview, he could only pick one. Luckily many of the interviews asked him to rank where he would want to go. He got his first choice, a signing bonus and a GS 7 level (US Forest Service archeologist) with promotion to Gs 9 soon if all goes well. He is thrilled. One thing that also helped him, and he was complimented for, is that even if he didn't do exactly what they were asking for, he took the experience he had that was similar and made a case of that being equivalent. And yes, research into the agency AND the location to where you are applying for is important.

    You are speaking the truth!! I have worked for the federal government for close to 20 years. I have seen new employees who are hired for the SAME JOB in the SAME AGENCY at the SAME LOCATION at the SAME TIME get anywhere between $0 and $50,000 dollar sign on bonuses. You have to negotiate!

    I’m a 48 CPA tired of the long hours. I was thinking of applying to a government job but felt depressed because of my age. However, I definitely need a work life balance and I will use my transferable skills to see what jobs I can apply to. Thank you for all your wisdom and insight.

    For anyone watching if I can add anything filter jobs from when it was posted. If you're the 50th person to apply changes are you'll never hear anything from them vs being the first five. USA gov has it where they can send you always everyday. Also a lot of jobs close after a certain number of applications.

    I've been working in private IT for over 10 years, but now I'm trying to apply for federal jobs. Do you have any videos that explain the whole process step by step? OR is their any age limit also for fed jobs? I could really use some guidance. Thank you.

    I have an upcoming interview for the FAA located in Chicago, IL. The pay band FV-H with 30.41% locality. I’m curious how that is calculated into the salary band and how it can be negotiated? Thanks!

    Does it matter too much what kind of job experience I put on my resume if I'm applying for an internship pathways/student trainee position? Or should I still put ONLY experience that's relevant to the series regardless?

    I recently submitted a résumé that wasn’t updated nor included references however, I got lucky got referred and interviewed. My question is being that the résumé was incomplete due to the lack of references. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get that to the hiring officials. When I reached out to HR, they said the window had closed to where I can add anything to the résumé. Some guidance is desperately needed.

    you are the best ever~~!! I'm in Army as an active duty (92A) and my ETS date is July, 2025. I remember you were talking about you can start applying for jobs 4 - 6 months prior to ETS date. I was wondering if you can talk about getting an oversea jobs such as DLA (Defense Logistic Associate) in relation to ETS date for those who are in military but planning on getting out and how the timeline works as far as packing up and sending my stuff out. Thank you and happy new year~

    Hi Armand, what would be your advice when you are relying on your education to apply for a job. I am a few years out of college and have an MBA so I am likely ineligible for those entry positions for recent grads. I have one business consulting job where most of my experience comes from, but that is directly relevant to a lot of skills for data or financial analysis positions. Is my education alone enough to get me the position for a G9 or will I be pushed aside for someone who has the experience already. What can I do to remain competitive in this situation. This could also be a good video idea, so anu advice would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the valuable content!

    • @armandcuret1
      @armandcuret1  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are a few variables in your situation. Where are you located? Are you will to relocate? How long have you worked at your business consulting job? Are you only looking at 0500, 1101 or 0343 job series?
      If you are qualifying on education only then a Master Degree can make you eligible for GS-9. You could perhaps leverage your experience from the business consulting job and be eligible without education but it will depend on the job announcement and the depth of your experience.
