I'm in the DMV. The only hiring I see from USCIS is contractors. USCIS wouldn't have a backlog if they hire the public and make new federal employees. They avoid putting the money into workers & award these contracting companies.

I wouldn't want to work for an agency whose job is to actively undermine my country.

As a former USCIS employee, they absolutely need more people to assist with cases, but they desperately need better section chiefs and SISOs.

Who TF puts their age on a resume? I could get that maybe you date yourself with your grad year and dates at various jobs, but for me as I graduated Uni at approximately 30, if you tried to date me you would guess me to be younger.

Therein lies a problem. The US Air Marshal need to be in the air, not at the border. The Natl. Gaurd can do this. Our domestic flights are vulnerable due to the fact that Air Marshals are not in the air with passengers.

So those employees cant handle an average 2 requests per employee a day? Our bureaucracy is so screwed man. Underfunded? You just explained how these requests are like $500 each. If each employee is doing 2 a day, that agency is taking in appx $1000 per day and maybe paying the employee $200 of that. That's not underfunded, that's mismanaged.

USCIS is a JOKE, the USCIS agent I know said they were forced to abandon all cases and only work on asylum cases from mexico to get them all green cards before election. so people who paid and came here legally, they are waiting years all just got put on the back burner by Biden....

I’m actually quite interested in getting into a federal employment. I have a masters of public health and about seven years of non-governmental experience. Do I have a good chance of securing an adequate role or finding a relevant position? Applying for jobs in USA jobs website seems like such a dinosaur 🦖 of a process. I always avoid it, but perhaps this is a good time to attempt.
