I’ve been with the federal government for over 5 years, I got in as a direct hire only by the grace of God!! My offer letter went to spam and was deleted. I’m so blessed the recruiter called me to see if I wanted the job. Moral of the story check you trash/ spam because you might already have your offer letter.

I got sent onboarding documents to a GS-9 government job. It is a temp job to last up to 4 years or when a disaster period ends. This job is an administrative assistant position. I just completed my onboarding documents.

Would like to see a video explaining navigating religious beliefs/requirements and who you would inform and when you would inform them. For example, a muslim needing to pray each day at a certain time, etc....

Do you know if all agencies honor The “CREW Act” it extends employment protections under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reservists who deploy to major disaster sites? For example, if I work for an agency, like SSA and there is a disaster in the U.S. can leave my job with the SSA for 3 months and come back to my SSA job when the mission is over?

Great work Armand. Thank you!. I have to ask this. Are you saying that the Federal Government wants a LESS educated workforce in the long run? I don't mean to be rude, but the balance between more education and more experience (which seems to be the premium for hiring)-I aspire to have both., makes one a better practitioner, particularly for future promotions correct? -what is your opinion. Thanks again for the great work you do.

Thanks for the tips. I have been employed with DOJ for the last 3 years. I came as a Gs-7. I realized I settled for less because I have 5 years of experience before I came to the Federal Government, and I have a master’s degree. I’m desperate to leave my current position. I have been applied with no luck to secured a decent position with better pay. Can I apply for a Gs-11 with the positions open to the public? Some of my applications have been referred with no interviews. I feel like a failure right now. Having higher education is worthless.

You can always transfer to another position within or outside the Government. Don’t say your education is worthless, if you haven’t put it to the test. There’s people with education, who can’t even find a job at all..

I've heard the some offices within the VA and some other agencies were under a hiring pause. It really depends on the agency and their budget.

You can apply using Schedule A if you are a person with an intellectual disability, a severe physical disability, or a psychiatric disability. In order to be selected you will need to show that you meet the qualifications of the job (with or without reasonable accommodation).

FYI: My friend’s wife got a schedule A for “anxiety”. She has been applying to the federal government for over 10 years after getting Schedule A she now has 3 interviews lined up.
