My life in the military consisted of arriving at the office at 6am, unlocking, turning on the lights and getting the 2 gallon coffee pot going. My day consisted of typing various memos, promotion papers, duty rosters and other mechanics that keep a company running smoothly. My schedule would be interspersed with trips to Division headquarters to pick up top secret messages, trips to the base post office to pick up the company mail and then sorting said mail. Throw in Thursday afternoon weapons cleaning at the armory, because we had to stand inspection every Friday morning after running our weekly 3 mile run. Once a month I had 24 hour guard duty, usually at the armory and one week of mess duty every 6 months. Periodic gas mask exercises in the CS gas chamber was always fun, as was the yearly Intra Mural Rifle and Pistol Matches, which I was always "volunteered" for. Three or four times a year I'd check out my folding portable office from it's storage at the supply shack and restock the forms, carbon copy sheets, pencils and pens and various other office implements I'd need for a week in the bush during maneuvers. The night before deployment was spent stuffing my rucksack with uniforms, toiletries, mess kit, first aid kit and just about everything you thought you'd need, but trying to keep it light. I still had to roll up my blanket and shelter half poles in my shelter half and strap it to the top of the ruck. Most of the time I felt like I was driving to a normal 10 hour day job, working in an office, with small excursions or errands to break up the monotony. Weekends were usually spent with the wife at our trailer off base, maybe grilling with some buds and sucking down some cold ones or driving to her mother's house for the weekend. @Grizzliegaming1 They can give you airborne in your contract regardless of the mos, otherwise what you will be doing is preparing the parachutes for the rest of your contract
@@Grizzliegaming1 Bud, I just want you to know that your best chance of being an actual paratrooper, is signing an infantry contract with Option 4. Option 4 gives you a spot in Airborne school, and you are almost guaranteed(especially as an 11) to go into an Airborne unit. You can definitely get Airborne on other MOS', but 11b/11x is the way to go if you're wanting to actually live the life of a paratrooper, plus you'll be way more likely to get picked up for RASP if you want to be an Airborne Ranger.
United States of America, thank you, these are the best times, I'm with you for a healthy and strong human race, our survival is not a game, my spirit protects life.
😂 Love the crappy stories. I remember living in the barracks and treated like doggies in a kennel. My first day at my unit I had a PT test after 3 hrs of sleep. Did a 48hr CQ because my squad leader went on leave and never told anyone I already did 24hrs. Went to the field for 28 days. Got back to the barracks and went out for the weekend. Got drunk at the club and got back at 4am. Top wakes the unit up and we have to spend the Saturday police calling the site we were at for 28 days. I had guys puking in the back of my 5T. Missed a lot of meals because some officer wanted us to run a few extra miles. Got back to the barracks. You had one choice. Shower or chow. You could not have both. The line at the chow hall was too long. Had to share a GP medium with guys stacked side to side while NCOs had the other half of the tent with lots of space. These were reasons why I did not reup.
They didn't show you the CONSTANT 3 week Field Training Exercises - Usually in the rain- where you just patrol, stay wet, get maybe 3 hrs sleep every 24 hrs and you eat MRES. The Occasional chow truck with "hot meals" in thermos cannisters always gets lost in the dark and rain and then you get no chow, stay hungry and patrol more. You ain't getting ressuply until you get to your OBJ (objective) two days from now and then, here's an MRE troop. Got to love the suck.

The 24 hour CQ duty as well as doing vehicle maintenance can happen in pretty much any MOS in the army especially in a forscom unit, but yeah the mopping rain water and constant janitor work is more of an infantry thing
Love having that 101 combat patch. We’ve had 2 younger brothers of guys in my platoon join up for the 101. 2 generations in one platoon so far. That patch has a draw to it. The 101st arguably has the most esprit de corps and pride than any other unit in the main Army that also rivals the Marine Corps. 1-61 Cavalry 2008-2011, get some boys were rooting for ya young troopers
2005-2014 , both active and guard, 2-27IN / 2-135IN. Had a great leadership group in both when I was there. Unfortunately a couple injuries put me on the shelf for a little while.
Why would you really want to enlist in infantry at THAT AGE when enlisted infantry get treated even more like children compared to the rest of the army (it's literally right there in the word "infantry" which is "infant") , and the army as a whole is already treated more like little kids compared to other branches like the air force? If you want to join the military at that age, consider not being a naive dumbass and try to take your ass into the air force where you are actually treated like your fucking age instead of a little moronic child. You will be an absolute fucking idiot to bitch about how you're stuck in the barracks for.so much longer (the army and marines have the longest barracks times. You better think about that at your age) or if you are married, how you can't communicate at all with your spouse when you are stuck in the middle of nowhere for weeks at a time (even people stuck on ship in the navy out in the ocean at least have internet to check back with family at home once in a while), All because you wanted to act like a naive kid because you somehow got the idea that being a kid would "change your life" If you want to join the army, at least try to come in as an officer, ESPECIALLY if you seriously want infantry or some other combat MOS like artillery. Lower enlisted combat arms in the army and marines, and really the army and marines as a whole, are for young kids, not just physics but also emotionally. I want to see you bitch when AFTER basic training and air, when you go operational aka permanent party at your.unit, you feel stupid as hell when a much younger sergeant not only tells you what to do but even makes you drop for.pushups (infantry is pretty much a continuation of basic training) for no reason after he orders you to push a lawnmower and or scrub toilets. Either you come in as an officer so you won't be pushed around like a little kid, or you consider the Air force or coast guard where you'll get treated like an adult as well as have a job you actually friggin do instead of "training" for once in a while and the rest of the time you're mowing lawns or scrubbing toilets. Act your fucking age.
I signed up for Infantry or small weapon repair, i had a guy tell me why do infantry there are so many other safe things to do i smiled and told him (well someone has to do it)😅. The army is not going to select us all to stay at base. 3:02 👈 Click.
Here’s a real day in the life 05: wake up (you’re still drunk from the night before) 06: show up to the COF for pt a 3-5 mile run 0650: vomit the remaining alcohol 0745: think about how you should have joined the airforce on your wait to breakfast 0930: you get smoked by your TL for falling out of the run After getting the living shit smoked out of you, you find out you’re on a connex detail, you proceed to spend the next 4 hours unpacking a connex looking for a tough box the PL needs a tarp inside of and then proceed to repack the connex knowing damn well you’re going to need something else out of there in a week 1130: lunch 1300: you show back up to work and get screamed at by your PSG for your hair (it’s in regs but he’s on his 3rd divorce and doesn’t have a relationship with his children, you are his relief) 1330: sit in the cof until 1700 thinking to yourself “why the fuck am I still here”
Why so many people who want to join the military, want to join the army (in today's time when you know the air force and coast guard are much less shitty in comparison) and want to do peacetime garrison infantry is so far beyond comprehension What are these people expecting?

There’s the Army then there’s the Infantry…. SOF, Every other MOS supports… the Infantry will always be the heart of the fight … it’s in the creed for a reason
6 days from today I will officially get my cross rifles and be an infantryman. Greatest decision I’ve ever wanted and was my dream since I was a child.
😂😂😂
Welcome to fold bro. Cherish it, it will pass quickly
Sweep, Mop, and Buff that Floor! Secure that buffer for the assault! From 11B to 11J
I remember 90% of the time in the infantry you're doing yard work. Mowing lawns and sh**. And 10% of time training.
yep... still holds true today
5:15 GOD BLESS THE BEAUTIFUL FAMILY, THE REAL STRENGTH BEHIND ALL ARMY PERSONNEL 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏AND GOD BLESS ALL THE PRECIOUS LITTLE ANGELS WITH LOT'S AND LOT'S AND LOT'S OF LOVE, HEALTH, HAPPINESS, SAFETY AND PROSPERITY 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝
Shooting down those green Ivan targets are tough man. Especially picking up brass afterwords, yeah the infantry is great
11 year & still going strong 11B indeed lead the way
What are you planning to do when you retire?
MOS 11B Combat Janitor.
i'm planning to sign as a parachute rigger when i'm 18
Go 11b
@@IGMELVARGAS i would but i want an 100% chance to be airborne
@@_DMNO_ oh alright, thank you. not planning on ranger but i'll look into option 4. i think infantry will be a lot more interesting, thank you!
United States of America, thank you, these are the best times, I'm with you for a healthy and strong human race, our survival is not a game, my spirit protects life.
Getting ppl ready for the draft
A former army infantryman, the best job ever, hooah 🇺🇲
LOL
I love My Beautiful US Army Members so much and more than myself, Go My Beautiful US Army Members!!! I'm so proud of You all and You all are My American Heroes!!! Hell yeah look at these young Hooahs getting back to what being a Soldier is all about
The deadliest janitors in the world.
Former Marine recruit. Got medical discharge sadly and the Marines rlly let me down not letting me fight back to stay. I’m hoping the Army will give me a chance because I know I’m a fighter
They forgot to mention 24 hr CQ duty and Fire watch 😂. Mopping in the rain and checking for soft spots on armored vehicles…
The 24 hour CQ duty as well as doing vehicle maintenance can happen in pretty much any MOS in the army especially in a forscom unit, but yeah the mopping rain water and constant janitor work is more of an infantry thing
@@golfery5119yup because I had 24 hour staff duty not too long ago
Love having that 101 combat patch. We’ve had 2 younger brothers of guys in my platoon join up for the 101. 2 generations in one platoon so far. That patch has a draw to it. The 101st arguably has the most esprit de corps and pride than any other unit in the main Army that also rivals the Marine Corps. 1-61 Cavalry 2008-2011, get some boys were rooting for ya young troopers
Have you seen any of the episodes from "Tales from the Service"? They have awesome content as well.
Happy birthday!!!🎉🇺🇸
I want to join the United States Marine corps but I sure am glad I got you guys to help us out
You will be fighting for I_srae_l
@@spartanspearFORWARD I'm okay with that.
@@Steven_Groener Ok Mr. Genocide of innocent kids.
They should do a commercial where it's just the Pat Tillman documentary.
Hoooah!!!💯
2005-2014 , both active and guard, 2-27IN / 2-135IN. Had a great leadership group in both when I was there. Unfortunately a couple injuries put me on the shelf for a little while.
Wolfhounds!!
Where's the part about cutting grass, tanning rocks or sweeping the rain water?
You sound like you got chaptered out as a PV2 for a DUI and were one of those guys who married a stripper and bought a Camaro at 40% interest.
Was trying to reclass from 91B to 11B mid contract
These commercials is how they get ya😂😂
God Loves the Infantry!
Brotherhood of the Blue Cord got mine Sep 78
Let’s keep it 100 I was infantry for a long time you forgot to about the log days at the Motorpool smoking PVT’s because of boredom

Aviation is the best
Im 30 this year, i fully understand im late to the game. Plan on enlisting this year for infantry try to change my life.
You better think about that at your age) or if you are married, how you can't communicate at all with your spouse when you are stuck in the middle of nowhere for weeks at a time (even people stuck on ship in the navy out in the ocean at least have internet to check back with family at home once in a while),
All because you wanted to act like a naive kid because you somehow got the idea that being a kid would "change your life"
If you want to join the army, at least try to come in as an officer, ESPECIALLY if you seriously want infantry or some other combat MOS like artillery.
You are not late man, Trust me you are not. I hope you make it 👍
@@golfery5119facts
Same age. Go AirForce
Dude be smart….. don’t join the infantry. Be kind to yourself join the Air Force.
Salute to all my university of fort benning alumni
of course they pick the most high speed SGT in the whole battalion. show us the crusty 8 year SPC who doesn't care anymore
I signed up for Infantry or small weapon repair, i had a guy tell me why do infantry there are so many other safe things to do i smiled and told him (well someone has to do it)😅. The army is not going to select us all to stay at base. 3:02 👈 Click.
Good morning. Men.. total war pre-work out.. I'm training hard..! You have my support..!
Good fucking shit Army. About damn time you put out good ads. Hooah!!
THey need people to fight for I_srae_l so they are cutting off the trans LGBTQ army ads for now.
And remember recruits your back pain will not be service connected related...
Yay Army!!!
I half expected the title to be “infantry person” at this point.
Love them shades at the 3 minute mark...
Here’s a real day in the life
05: wake up (you’re still drunk from the night before)
06: show up to the COF for pt a 3-5 mile run
0650: vomit the remaining alcohol
0745: think about how you should have joined the airforce on your wait to breakfast
0930: you get smoked by your TL for falling out of the run
After getting the living shit smoked out of you, you find out you’re on a connex detail, you proceed to spend the next 4 hours unpacking a connex looking for a tough box the PL needs a tarp inside of and then proceed to repack the connex knowing damn well you’re going to need something else out of there in a week
1130: lunch
1300: you show back up to work and get screamed at by your PSG for your hair (it’s in regs but he’s on his 3rd divorce and doesn’t have a relationship with his children, you are his relief)
1330: sit in the cof until 1700 thinking to yourself “why the fuck am I still here”
Why so many people who want to join the military, want to join the army (in today's time when you know the air force and coast guard are much less shitty in comparison) and want to do peacetime garrison infantry is so far beyond comprehension
What are these people expecting?
Im going to take my ACFT soon and ship out after that, im also doing infantry. Wish me luck😂❤
God Bless Flores 🇺🇸
When did they get all of that amazing equipment?
I was in 10th Mountain at Ft Polk and we didn’t get any good equipment or cool vehicles like that.
I was also in a scout platoon and that sniper shouldn’t be doing cqb banging doors open lol.
Overall, it was a decent experience that helped me to grow as an individual and as a man.
"I wanted to have a job where I could consume massive amounts of nicotine and caffeine without ridicule." There I wrote the script for you.
Airborne infantry! A/2/504th PIR. Strike hold!
Go Blackheart from a former Blackheart 97-99
Prospective recruits, what you're seeing is exactly 1% of your daily life. 99% will be full of Motorpool Mondays, Layouts and formations for formations. You will never use most of the equipment they advertise here. Have fun though...
What's the deal with the 101st 2nd BCT now being "MOBILE BCT" ... how is that different than their 1st & 3rd Brigade Combat Teams, what makes the 2nd *Mobile* and the 1st/3rd not Mobile? Thanks!
