A powerful video that stresses the fact that bullying is something no one should tolerate. Your videos are valuble for English learners, but mostly for bringing guidance for a peaceful life. Well done to you!!!
I have already had my great class from today. It's really an extremely good class not just for the emlpoyees but, also for the employers and workmates. Thanks a lot nice teacher for the classes and the difference you've been making helping so many people!!!!!
Toxic people never change!!! Thats their nature! If you are kind they will take advantage on you!Do not be kind to people like that,do not tolerate abuse and discrimination!
Kindness is the best response to rudness. When we practice kindness either to other people or towards ourselves we can experience positive mental and physical changes through lowering stress levels and increasing the body's production of feel-good hormones. Taylor Swit said : “I’ve learned a pretty tough lesson that people can say whatever they want about us at any time, and we cannot control that. The only thing we can control is our reaction to that.” 🥺🥺🥺!🥺🥺🥺!🥺🥺🥺!🥺🥺🥺!
I was very kind at work and for this reason I was overloaded with work and had to work 12 hours per day and sometimes even more. Boss started demanding from me to work more and more. One day I realised that I had serious problems with my health. Then I had to leave this job. My problem was I was too kind and could not set boundaries. Now I am trying to do it at my present job and I have to say it is terribly difficult process.
Immensely helpful! What you are delivering here through these lessons goes beyond just teaching a language, it is rather COACHING. Particularly liked "Taking the high road", as just realised it was this strategy that rescued me in the hardships of the past 13 yrs as a skilled migrant. Thank you! 😊
Yes, this is a necessary topic for people like us whose native language is not English. I have experienced a lot of times that native speakers are so rude and bullying by throwing their cramps on me. I think Anne Marie's teaching is so powerful and helpful. Thank you Anne Marie!
I'm sorry to hear you've experienced this kind of behavior. Thank you for watching the lesson and I hope you've discovered some new ways to navigate such toxic behavior.
Work place bullying is very subtle. Sometimes we can feel something is not quite right but I don't know how to respond without obviously offending people.
Dear Annemarie, You are an extremely talented teacher and a higly experienced mentor to a big number of students from A1 to C1 levels. It's not easy to say good words as they sound not so natural, but your work is increadibly helpful and highly appreciated on the web. Why not soften a conflict when it leads to some action. Why not keep in mind that suppressing in any case gives a certain postponed pause leading to a burst. Admitting the Idea of not being a victim makes a person less worried. Best regards.

What an informative session, a few days ago I have experienced such a bullying comment from my associate. I used one of the assertive strategies I have learned from this community. You are God sent, I only saw this lesson after the incident.🙏
This is great, however, I have experienced new employees nod while not understanding the request. it is particularly important to speak up and ask for clarification. If you do not understand the overall content required and it shows by your making mistakes - again speak up and ask for clarification before commencing. These items will help in your P & D to avoid an under work performance review. Always ask for clarification as to the outcome required. It is not always appropriate to assume you are being bullied, it may just be a different culture in a different country within their Working Legislations. My team consist of 11 different nationalities who are all wonderful workers and most had difficulty understanding initially what was expected and I learned to stop and explain in detail what my outcomes needed to be. Good Luck to everyone watching these wonderful videos.
I committed to my mental health and wellbeing. If you're healthy in your work place it would directly affect to your community and world. It starts from you.
It is very true that we will feel overwhelm and frustrated when you think working with co-workers who always looks you down. We need to prepare and confronted them in appropriate way to set the boundary. Thanks for the session and will practice.
I can talk with the colleague who is not professional in their manner to let them know that I am not okay with the situation. If the situation is not being resolved, I talk with the manager about my feelings. I am kind and forget the situation easy and not going to remember it.

Very important topic that you brought up today. I've suffered very much with bullying in school and now on my workplace. It's sad to know how childish the adults from today have been. I learnt from you today the phrasal verb SEEP INTO. And, yes, all the effects from that toxic enviorment have been seeping into my personal life and making me feel unmotivated to keep working. But, if I don't, who is gonna pay my bills?? And I guess these pandemic times made the situation even worse. Thank you for the lesson.. Bye bye.
