    Im so happy theres even a dedicated Arval chapter here. The lore of Thales runs deeper, and so does the details of the battles long ago. Seems like Thales has always been a pretty poor leader and of low opinion to other Slitherer commanders..

      Not that Epimenide’s methods are much better than Thales. In the secret chapter Epimenides created illusions of Hubert, Dedue and Hilda to attack Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude and he kept taunting with stuff like “How could you attack your friend” or “You’re a terrible person for killing your friend.”

Ephimenedes themselves said that they don't like Thales' methods even if it was for the success of the liberation army.

    Ah man, I'm loving this Agarthan lore. It almost makes up for how criminally underutilized Epimenedes is in the main story. It seems that Thales and Epimenedes might have been contemporaries from the original war and might be of equal standing in the Agarthan hierarchy, and clearly, Thales and Epimenedes both invested a lot in Nemesis. Thales' advanced age might actually explain how he's the only one who can use the Javelins of Light.
    Finally, I can't be the only one cheering for the enemies of the map, and I wonder if this encounter played a role in Flayn going into a 900+ year coma.

Arundel does call him a thief in front of her but she acts like "What did he say?" kind of thing.

She has a sacred tome that comes as an S rank reward for completed one of the story missions. It’s an Ailell battle, that’s your hint. Also, Aymr is in the Epimenides interlude for Scarlet Blaze, S rank Escape from Zahras and you’ll obtain it. The Elites took blood/Crest Stones from those Nabataean’s to enable their bloodlines to possess crests from then on, but the Saints make less sense to me because I don’t know how their bloodlines started intermingling with other people (aside from Seiros, who really did it too much for her own good lol). But did Cethleann do that at all? If she didn’t do that, or didn’t have kids, then the only alternative I can think of is Those Who Slither forcefully wounding and taking blood from Cethleann, injecting it into people who would then become Lindhardt’s ancestors. I really like Epimenides, criminally underutilized as he was. Sure, he has this kind of supremacy mindset and looks down on others, but unlike the others in TWSITD, Epimenides is truly someone that loves his people, no matter how warped it has become. Thales and his ilk are all just driven by pure hatred that started to revel in just creating chaos and torment on the people, whereas Epimenides seeks to just put an end to the longstanding conflict against the Nabateans.
    We see clearly how overzealous the Empire is in their worship of the goddess because of how Seiros lied and manipulated them all, and how to Epimenides, it's disgusting because he knows that their "goddess" is nothing but some monstrous beast. By all technical accounts, he's right. Sothis is no goddess. She did not make Fodlan, its people, or anything. She's an alien that came into the land that belonged to the Agarthans and created her own race of people that worshipped her and arrogantly called herself "The Beginning" and the "mother" of Fodlan.
    Even when Byleth/Sothis is killed, Arval remarks that rather than feeling happy to have killed them, the feeling of joy is more toward the sensation of being free from the fighting itself. Epimenides didn't care about starting more wars or to torture humanity even if he looks down on them. He just wants to kill Sothis and finally be free of it all.

      @moonmoon2479 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol, coming from someone that was yelling and crying about “Sothis apologizists” you are quite the apologist yourself. Jesus Christ. Guess you need some way to cope that Epimenides is evil and gets killed and the world is better off that way.
      (He literally calls humanity beasts. The world doesn’t heal with them on it.)

      I like Epimendes in THEORY for these reasons but I find him incredibly underutilized and somewhat unnecessary. I also find his relationship/connection to Arval rather frustrating to say the least, as the connection between them is never really established (is Arval a vessel for Epimendes? Are they Epimendes but with an amnesia? Or is it something in-between)

    • @basilofgoodwishes4138
      @basilofgoodwishes4138 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Arcanist_The Yeah, it feels like Epimenedes was created to make Arval seemingly innocent, because having a companion that knows the history of Fódlan would raise suspicion. A better companion for Shez would be the Fell King Nemesis himself, because he is for one a pre-established character that deserves exploration and is unlike Sothis a badass king and warrior.
      He could teach Shez as a time witness the history of Fódlan and we could get his perspective of things. On top of this, we can also fight as him if we allow for an ending where he takes over Shez and fights Rhea again, this time winning definitely. Also this would be nice contrasting with Sothis: A young Dragon girl that knows nothing almsot about their past against an eldery human man who knows all about his past. This would be a nice duel to have and we could either allow sothis her revenge or have Nemesis kill her for this time definitely.
      I believe Nemesis would be cooler and it would explain the mystery why he had no descendants? Shez as his descendant would be an interesting plot point and then we could get a remix of god-shattering star, the best boss battle theme in Three Houses.

      @@moonmoon2479 Epimenedes is just boring evil and not cool in the slightest. Nemesis would have been a better fit as spirit to guide shez, since he is the one that would need his perspective to be heard the most.
