Their combat arts should have behaved like gambits back in Three Houses. What kind of shitty relic hits exactly one tile.
They're still recycled animations here, most of them, but given new visual effects which is still a nice touch

My favorite relic is actually fetters of Dromi because the movement increase is stupid fun. I use it with Emperor Edelgard (paired with Aymr) and she's one of my strongest characters
I always like to put it on byleth because imagining enemy soldiers hearing that the ashen demon is on the field and then seeing Byleth fucking BOOKING it towards them is so funny to me

I just wish Relics could be used regardless of Class.
Atrocity at max level with max level Areadbhar is actually busted af, it’s the strongest overall attack in the game, ahead of Agnea’s Arrow, Swift Slice and Wind God, the three other OP and expensive as hell moves in the game. Atrocity is busted at max everything because durability is almost a non issue and durability recovery is so much larger as a result of rescaling weapon repair mid-battle. Monstrously strong.
Makes perfect sense with the one wielding it. He wasn't the Tempest King for nothing.

We're combining Dimitri's superhuman strength with Atrocity being able to bypass all defenses here. Of course it's the strongest combat art in the game.
Atrocity sounds and now looks even more badass in this game.
It sucks that we cant let them equip different weapons like in Three Houses and we needed to get them on a specific class for them to use that kind of weapon.
Yeah, it sucks, but I can kinda understand why they did it. The class dictates the entire moveset, after all, so allowing α class to use another weapon would also mean having to retool an entire new moveset out of it.
Still annoys me that Seteth can’t use his own spear in his favorite class, though.
I made Marianne as a thief and watching her spin like a beyblade is the most hilarious thing I've ever seen, especially if she's in her personal outfit.
I still find it weird how the weapons' combat arts have the red electricity effect but meanwhile the tomes are just "Here, a spell you normally can't use"

Eviscerate is a stupidly strong move that one shots even late game mages and does massive chunk damage to anything else unfortunate enough bro be caught in its range. I love using Balthus he’s so strong
I never bothered to read the description of Fetters of Dromi but did notice Yuri is stupid fast. Guess that explains it.
Hrotti is a heroes relic you get for Hapi.
Best part is you actually get to use the relic in combat. As opposed to keeping it in your inventory and using steel or silver weapons cause you have the mats to repair those
Fetters is stupidly good in this game, any unit with a crest can run as fast or even faster than a mounted unit, I had Mortal Savant Monica zipping around the game cutting down foes in seconds with the Levin Sword
I had Empress Edelgard with that shit and it was actually hilarious (and busted, she was a fucking train)

Even though Annette and Marianne are mages, the Hero relics they can use are not tomes, but a hammer (Crusher for Annette) and a sword (Blutgang for Marianne).
The pathing and skill progression for both Marianne and Annette make sense for their respective relics
Marianne is an incredible dancer and trickster with access to witstrike, essense of ice, frozen lance, iceblade, and subversion, while Annette has witstrike, heaviest hitter, dual onslaught, and lightning axe
The fun of three houses and hopes is playing around with solid builds
It's a magic axe and a magic sword, so it still fits.
I also noticed they made new relics for this game
I was surprised how strong beast fang is especially against cavalry foes even lance foes have a hard time

I'm surprised there aren't more relics for the black eagles, just Edelgard's and Jeitza's. It would have been cool to see what they could've come up with :'(
The black eagles don't have hero's relics cause there not from the 10 elites there from the 5 saints , jeritza being the exception , and Edelgards isn't actually a hero's relic it just looks and works like one.
Lorewise they have no Elite Crests and Relics, just Sacred Weapons. Would have been nice if they made them work like relics in this game though, and maybe gave them a bit more Mt. I'd rather have Edelgard use Labraunda instead of Aymr for looks alone but Aymr is stupid strong.
The black eagles have crests of the saints so that would be imposible given they are all alive, the best substitute are the sacred weapons

@@gypsysprite4824 I think crest of noa did get a sacred weapon in three hopes, but that's about it. Kinda sucks that Constance is the only one without a hero's relic from the ashen wolves
She at least got a Sacred weapon in Scroll of Talos, but yeah, no Heroes' Relic.
The empire don't have the crests or relics of the 10 elites like the kingdom or alliance. The empire's crests are mainly of the saints, which all of them are alive so we don't have relics for them. But they do have most of the holy weapons which match the saints.
@sveipr6516 Yes, but that shouldn't affect Constance as she has the Crest of a apostle, not Saint and all the other wolves got hero relics.
I have a question: Why are the Hero's Relics good in this game? What properties do they give that normal weapons don't? I've played this one and a half times, but still don't get it. Their power is low and it takes a LOT of material to upgrade to make them as good as some of the strongest weapons
When you first get them they suck until you get unleash effects at the blacksmith, which is pretty late into a run. They’ll have higher stats on average with the reforges only widening the gap between them and brave weapons. Ones with standout combat arts like eviscerate/atrocity/raging storm (I think fallen star is the only bad one assuming you’re using it on claude) are among the most powerful attacks in the game. Sword of the Creator and the non-hero Dark Sword of the Creator also get a shoutout for potentially being the best weapons overall because they make attacks hit twice.

I just want to know, how does the dark creator sword work? I say this because it says it's powered by two crests and I don't know what they mean, considering I don't know how to get two crests for one character.
That simply means it hits twice not that you need two crests as anyone with A Rank in Swords can use it without repercussions

After how disappointing the combat art animations in Three Houses were, it was nice seeing how they actually look outside of the basic same animations from Three Houses. I always wondered how combat arts like falling star, atrocity, apocalyptic flame etc would look canonically, and here we actually got them in Three Hopes. Also Three Hopes actually is reliable because the game was created by Koei Techmo who was heavily involved in Three Houses, so they’d know what they are doing.

Yo you should do a list of how to get everyone of these weapons cuz some of these on this list I do not have
Most of them are pretty straight forward, you either get them through the main story, a paralogue, or an S rank reward. The only "tricky" ones are Blutgang, Aymir and Ichor scroll. You have to complete the secret chapter with an S rank to obtain them, but since the game itself doesn't show you any rewards and conditions to achieve them, they can slip up. Keep in mind, you can't unlock all of the weapons in one route.

You need to spend Renown, Purchasable for 15 renown after finishing the game on at least one route
NG+ exclusive. It also glows when in Edelgard’s hands due to the crest of flames but doesn’t give her access to the combat art.
We need more lore as to how or why the Heros Relic tomes exist. All other relics are made of the bones of the children of the goddess. So how exactly then are BOOKS made from bones? Or is it that they aren’t bones at all? Just so many questions.
my best theory of that, is that the external part of the book is made out of bones, meanwhile the pages are made out by the skin of the nabateans
