I started TheSalonGuy brand after the passing of my Mother and discovering a role model of mine who has a few books on turning your passion into a business. I have spent the last 20+ years in the salon industry, tech and fashion. I left the industry at some point to become a Fireman and Aux. Police Officer. I did 6 years service and resigned shortly after 9/11.

It's almost like you curated this video for me. I got a haircut a couple of weeks ago and I've been learning how to implement the hair dryer to change my hairstyle to look wavy. This video came out the perfect time. Thanks! @TheSalonGuy
Also, I bought your shadow cream product. I don't have tidal wave. Can I still achieve the same thing? And if so, should I apply the product and comb my hair straight, and then scrunch my hair with the blow dryer??
is this process permanent

4. sea salt spray again and lock it in place with scrunches

As a guy that for 26 years had straight hair, found your channel after getting fascinated about the Outer Banks surfer hairstyles and searching a bit about how i could get my hair wavy, thank you so much for the straight forward tutorial and simple use of a really few products to help achieve this, you're the best!
I’m a dude growing my hair out for the first time. I’ve found your videos SO helpful. Thank you! Great content!
Awesome! Thank you!
This is exactly what I’ve been wanting to know how to do. Thank you
Fantastic video, thank you so much
Thank u soo much dude
bro i swear these bald men are the wizards of hair! thx a lot for this
great video thanks
I can fall asleep to the sound of a hair blow dryer and a vacuum😴😂it’s relaxing
Shits legit, be sure also to use a paste/clay dor hold and shine if u want it . I even managed it without a defuser, only normal blow dryer
Great video man, thank you! Definitely going to give this one a try. Will the two products help it hold in normal climates? What about humid?
Very impressive!
I am loving your new Logo on the wall!🙌🏼💯💯 Classy!😎 Excellent choice! 😊💙🥇
Really appreciate that!!
Man I've been growing my naturally curly italian hair lately and all these barbers use a hair dryer to do the craziest most beautiful things. I guess I'll have to cop one damn it
would love to see a video on how to achieve this haircut!
I watch you all the time I love everything you do you are awesome
Means so much
YES WE LIKE THESE VIDEOS
this is exactly what I needed a few days ago before they cut my hair......
are all diffusors the same, even these types of hair diffusers vary with different bowl depths and prong lengths , whatb is the best one for this, amazing results

Man still can’t believe you collaborated with JEFF. Thanks for showing me this technique can’t wait to try it
Steven I have a suggestion could you make a video on how like actors and celebrities make there hair so shinny and what not and what to use
they have stylists on set and that keep their hair looking good at all times. It's also about the products.
Hey, I have thin straight hair too, if I wish to grow my hair into this, and I have an undercut with 3-4 inches on top (front being the longest) like a spike up hairstyle, how do I tell my barber to cut it so my hair grows into something like this?
I'll show this video sure, but how would I know he's cutting it right? What could be the indicators? I still want sides shorter than the rest (not faded, just not so long that it makes my face look wide)
bro thank you so much I look so mych sexier now girls actually arent scared of me! thank you!!
Lol
thanks boss! from poland
what do you suggest for someone who doesn’t have that tidal spray at the moment. i tried your strategy this morning and it worked great but the curls went away after like 2 minutes and left my hair with the slightest bit of waviness
What if I have a different hairdryer and that the diffuser is bigger. Would that be problem in making the hair wavy?
So should I go to a salon and ask for layers and do all this stuff I will have this type of hair bc this is exactly a wavy flow type of hair which I have always wanted
Sir I would appreciate a vid on how to do Kim tea bts v fluffy hairstyle kinda little curles one m looking in utube but no such video’s available
How to style
What type of haircut to grow into the style
And so on
Could you make a tutorial on how to do the wings haircut style the one that baseball ⚾️ players use ?
5 for good luck. I love this guy
What would be the difference between using regular curlers verses what your saying to use perm rods ?overnight?
What perm rods shouldd I use if I want it to be wavy/curly like this?
i have a layered cut similar to the manequin but no matter how hard i try my hair just wont go wavy like it does in the vid. i have a diffuser and use sea salt spray to no avail.
Hair type gang. Also he makes it look easy and good so that he can sell products
your a legend been trying to find out how to do this
Hey there I like your vibez. Do you sell your products outside the US?
i need specifically a fluffy hair tutorial from your hair type
This may be a weird question haha.. but may I ask the length of the hair on the manikin? Mines just a bit longer but almost the same exact style and I would like it cut pretty much just like this next time
we DO like you doing these hands on tutorials where you’re just going over a bunch of stuff.

most honest guy on the internet that ive seen
i already have a middle part but what do i need to ask for when getting my hair cut for this
i've tried it, it kinda works but really doesn't get me to the same end result. I'm gonna try getting layers cut into my hair and I'll report back. If that doesn't work im gonna try a perm.
yo i already have a sea salt spray so can i use that aswell or do i need ur exclusive wave spray
My plan is to grow my hair out because my older brothers are starting to look like the stylist himself
Hi Stephen, I just ordered your tidal wave from silkhaarshop as I'm from the UK but I see that the packaging is different to the one in this vid, is that normal??
What happens if you use a mousse before blow drying it ?
can you this without a diffuser??
My hair is just past my eyes reaching my cheekbones, do you think my hair would be long enough for this method?
Should the hair be super wet or just a bit damp?
Can i still do it without using the products because im broke?
great
bro this just makes my hair even straighter
Did you used similar products + hair dryer corretly . What have you decided to do with your hair? Did you learned how to do it ?
Shave your head and then try. I bet it will work!
can i use this method for my beard?
What what if I have a prominent middle part, due to having finer hair. Do middle parts still work?
I've spent my entire life trying everything tondo the exact opposite!
Anyone knows someone (a celebrity or anyone) with the same haircut as the model of the end of course please ?
It’s to have a model to show to my hairstylist
what if we don't have access to the tidal spray in our country?
Do i need to apply products to achieve it?
Is shampooing before all of this okay?
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 *💇♂️ It's easier to achieve waves in longer hair. Short hair can get texture, but longer hair allows more manipulation.*
01:08 *🌀 Wetting or washing the hair will revert it to normal straightness, unless chemically treated.*
02:16 *💦 Use a foundational spray before styling, like the 25 Spray, which offers 25 hair benefits.*
03:52 *🌊 Use Tidal Wave to enhance waves. Only a few spritzes are needed for best results.*
05:30 *🌀 Utilize a blow dryer with a magnetic diffuser to soften the airflow and prevent frizz.*
06:26 *🖐️ Scrunch hair with fingers and blow dry to create waves. Avoid shaking or running fingers through the hair while drying.*
11:47 *✂️ The right haircut with layers is crucial for enhancing and maximizing the texture of straight hair.*

Dude you are seriously one of the best barbers around from what I’ve seen of your vids. I’ve been looking to go for a similar style to the mannequin in this vid myself; a tad longer, sort of like the Shawn mendes, chalamet look.
I know you say the secret to achieving such a style is all in the length and the cut, but I’m lost without any guidelines for what length my front, top, back and sides should be, and no barbers near me I trust enough to do it 😂
I’d trust you though, what would you say is a good length for that sort of cut?
true ,most barbers do their thing and results are far from what steph's mannequins hair look like😢
plus i think that hair should have a proper length so that waves can be created, right? if it's cut too short won't do
@@george90186i couldn't agree anymore. Last year I tried to grow my hair a little, wanted something like that mannequin. I took 10 min to explain the barber about everything about the lengths that I want and on which side. In the end, he did what he was doing always and it ruined my 5 month's hardwork of growing hair.
@@abhishekdhiman6500 i feel you bro,i have the same problem and it happened to me many times.because most barbers have their technique or don't know how to use scissors properly and they end up doing what they want.i now go to a hairdresser instead of a barber to give me the right haircut for my head shape-he seems to know what he's doing. most barbers just use clippers there you go most of hair gone!scissors are better because hair grows in more naturally
@@abhishekdhiman6500 maybe next time you should try a haidresser to properly style and cut your hair?
Just 1 Question, how long will this last for a day? 😅
Could you recommend a similar blow dryer for UK? Thank you for the tips in the video it's really straight forward :)
This one looks similar to the Dyson hairdryer. But you can use anything as long as you get a compatible diffuser
Do you need layered hair for this?
does this work work with fine straight hair?
what is the name of this hairstyle?
Can't tell you how grateful I am, this is just what I needed to know. Well explained and easy to follow. Can't wait to try, thank you. +1 like and sub from me
Thank youuuuu
Do these waves last all day? One thing that always frustrates me about my fine, straight hair is how no matter what product or blow drying technique I use, my hair always straightens and falls flat within a few hours. By the end of the night, it looks like how it did when I got out of the shower, but greasier because of the residual product. I have to keep my hair as long and layered as this mannequin to even have some semblance of texture and style, as short hair amplifies my problem, and flattens out even quicker than my longer hair styles unless I plaster it with pomade or hair gel-which looks terrible on me.
Just ordered a diffuser and waiting to try this out myself, because if this works this might be a game changer for me. Excited to give it a shot, will report back after some experimenting. Thanks for the tips!
Hi bro! Have you managed to do the steps from the clip? I want to try this but I can't afford the diffuser or the products at the moment.
3:50, 13:06 haircut layered
This is how my hair looks when its all sweaty and has dry wall dirt
🔥
Can you do a starlord hair guide from guardians of the galaxyv vol.3 please 😢❤
What do I tell my Barber if I want That hairstyle?
Can I add mousse before the diffuser?
what is this hairstyle called?
That mannequin has same facial expression I had while watching the video.
OMG you're a godsend
What if you have curly hair?
Yessss. My son ( 7 y/o ) goes to his barber every 2 weeks. He has very straight hair with a colick. I'm getting tired of his haircut. (Shaved around and long on top. We swoop it to one side and he's got the line going through. But I want to do a longer style but I think
It'll loom weird because he has straight hair. I've never seen it long. His appt in Tjursday and idk what pick!!!
I want this, I want that. And what does he want? :D
7yo going to the barber every two weeks is wild 😂. Like why, he's a kid not your doll
are all diffusors the same
I'm an Asian with straight hair. I don't know the product you sprayed earlier, how about a seasalt spray as an alternative, or should I spray it last for finisher?
I think tidal wave is pretty much a sea salt spray
So sure try it out
The spray that he used was a sea salt spray I think
I have a question what mode should I put the blow dryer on should it be cold air or hot?
hot
what is the brand of blow dryer / diffuser used
I want to know it too
I have a question Steven every time I put your tidal wave in and I scrunch it with my hands I have really thick straight hair my hair doesn’t hold a curl plus I am only 15 what should I do?
At 13:30 he talks about your hair needs layers. So add layers to your hair when you get a haircut
How is this cut called?
When he sprayed that I felt it in my nose
Can you suggest other blowdryer similar like yours for other countries? I’m from malaysia 😢
is there a video to get hair like at 5:57 ? or like what is the name of making hair like that?
Middle part
didn’t work, idk if it’s bc my hair is a bit shorter, it’s up to my eyebrows
How close should I be holding the blow dryer/diffuser to my head? Some videos say to hold it like 6+ inches away from your hair so you don’t fry anything but in this video you basically swirl the hair with the blowdryer
If you use the dryer properly you can go as close as you want. Just be careful with burning your scalp. As long as you keep the dryer moving around you should be good.
@@TheSalonGuy I guess this fake head has wavy hair at first? I’m Asian with super straight hair can u give me some tips😂
@@Chic0814 im also asain with super straight hair and blow drying doesnt really work i use a curling iron
@@Chic0814I never had super straight hair but It’s never been like wavy but what I did was just grow out my hair and just texturize my hair with scissors and shit and put sea salt spray and my hair turned wavy (idk if this is cuz of genetics since my mom has wavy hair but my dad has straight hair
@@5kShelfOh shit fr? My mom got wavy hair and my dad has straight hair. Currently I got straight hair so I bought some sea salt spray, does it work?
Your product is not sold in Indonesia
11:31 bruh this is my hair after waking up every morning
Next Chris Evan ghosted movie haircut
Do you think this will work on fine straight hair? I think with hair texture 1A, it's not even possible to create waves with a heating iron.
Do you think this technique could hold a day?
Definitely
It’s definitely possible to create waves with irons though?
@@annabethyeung8512bro i spent 2 years trying to get waves with 1A, i used every fucking product in the fucking omniverse, burnt my hair harder then korean barbeque, doesnt work, help me out
@@Kamfys uhh you have to fix them really quick like immediately after the iron leaves your hair. max-hold hairspray basically sprays a hard cast around the wave so if all else fails that should at least help a little bit. it may also depend on where you get your hair permed (if you tried?) because white people salons tend to not really do good perms in straight Asian hair, for instance
@@Kamfys Bro, get perms from a salon or barbershop.
Why is this video shown to me after i have gotten a buzz cut
