      I hope this flowers the last lady that made that silly comments Jesus never spoke Latin because he didn't know or did he speak Greek as far as right now but the two churches are Latin and Greek and both the eastern and western Rites of the church have together 22 valid forms of the Sacred Mass and this extraordinary tridentine form is only one of them and is not Superior or inferior to any of the others... It also unfortunately Rob's you are they full opportunity to hear the entire Bible in 3 years are participating in the Holy sacrifice of the mass and while there are some outstanding reasons for continuing the extraordinary form in and of itself it is no better then the ones St John chrysostom design and certainly know better I'm the one that Jesus and st. Peter celebrated which looked absolutely nothing like the extraordinary form and in fact the Carthusian and Carmelite masses along with ruthenian and Antiochian Catholic masses look nothing like the Latin extraordinary form for a good reason... And if you go to the extraordinary form because you think it is better at all 21 other forms then the devil's got you by the tail because he's just told you a half truth and a half truth is a whole lie... Ever read the documents of Vatican II on the letter G? It's too bad that some priests and parishes on follow these but the extraordinary form is hardly the only solution and then tracked thanks be to God for Pope Benedict XVI but he simply permitted it because it had not been excluded from Vatican 2 and as long as there's someone hanging around in an extraordinary form Mass Who belongs to the Society of Pius the 10th when you have a congregation or the problem... And ask for this particular homily say Myra Kellerman was merely giving his opinion it is not a matter of church doctrine and in fact his comments on Bishop Barron are incorrect even though I usually enjoy this priest... S h e o l is what we call purgatory and is where Christ to send it to but he doesn't mention that and I don't know why considering his knowledge of structure and it's so sad that you don't have readings the Old and New Testament at every Mass oh well we're all part of the same family praying for each other in humility but no more smart alec comments about the fact that Jesus didn't speak Latin because he didn't and he didn't celebrate Mass he celebrated Passover and made it into the first Eucharistic Mass but it was without the Liturgy of the word when you think about it... My mass as we know it had to develop and having to develop developed in several languages from Aramaic 2 whatever the heck they spoken Corinth and of course Greek and the Schism should never happen but for those who were so adamant about the extraordinary form in Latin that they participated in helping to caused the Schism even though they were not completely at fault... Think about that and pray for healing God bless you and please pray for me for I am a miserable sinner

    • @TheVetusMores
      @TheVetusMores 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Be _very_ careful of this.
      The recitation of any prayer does not promise nor guarantee the release of any soul, or a certain number of souls, from Purgatory. And St. Gertrude never said as much, either, regardless of whatever prayer card you may have seen.
      This belief was, in fact, condemned by Pope Leo XIII in 1899, in _AAS 32_ . Scroll down to page 243, Regulation 8:

    • @TheVetusMores
      @TheVetusMores 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! But one must bear in mind that the so-called "promises" to free souls is not valid. The prayer (chaplet) itself is fine.
      Prayer -- any prayer -- is always effectual. More effectual is prayer in groups ("For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them" -- Matt. 18,20), and this certainly qualifies!

However, this is what I do when visiting a cemetery the final home of my parents and many others. Facing East i pray the Rosary and to follow the Divine Mercy Prayer, afterwards I would singi the Farewell song on behalf of my parents and all who have died and the souls in purgatory. I would do the same for the Section where the Priests are buried asking and begging for God's Mercy . The farewell song starts by 'Come to their aid O Saints of God, Come Holy angels of the Lord receive their souls O Holy Ones present them now to GOD MOST HIGH"
    I would conclude my prayers by invoking Saint Michael--a name and prayer which is profoundly detested by Satan

    • @Unclenate1000

      Such a teaching is only comforting to sociopaths. To accept a god who rigs a system so that babies fall through the cracks and go to hell through no fault of their own is logically unacceptable. I will say I too am glad this teaching was presented and clarified as actual teaching. That way I know for sure that I could not be intellectually honest and remain in the faith.
      Sad that many modern Catholics are in denial or just flat-out coverup this church teaching.

      You realize this section of hell, as the Priest said, is the perfection of bliss and knowledge attainable in natural settings, right? Don't atheists *_constantly_* make the non-argument that, because God doesn't give us perfect happiness on Earth, He's not loving? There's such a disconnect with you, if you're one of those atheists, because when God doesn't give us perfect natural happiness, He's hateful, and when He does, He's still hateful, for not giving to us more of that which we don't deserve.
      You need to think about these things more. You can ask, "How can a just God send someone to hell?" Never mind *_He_* doesn't -- we do --, but I'd just hope your next question is how a just God can send someone to Heaven.

      @Patrick Reynolds the notion of Limbo existing as an outer fringe of hell is doctrine. They died that it's riddled with any level of happiness at all is mere speculation from Aquinas. Even so, being denied Heaven trough a technicality is obvious basic injustice.

    Amen, Amen. Praise be to God for this Priest, to teach us the Truth. This is probably the number one lie our poor protestant brothers and sisters in Christ have been taught by Satan, that all you have to do to get to heaven is believe. As St. Paul stated we must work out our salvation with fear and trembling. If a man saved by Jesus Christ Himself, who dedicated his whole life to Christ was unsure of a Heaven acceptance, we must also work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Not to be caught in the lie that we all have a free ticket to Heaven!

      Hi Joe: Not all protestants believe that all one must do is believe. Many of us believe that good works are the evidence of true salvation. Good works are not the cause, but the evidence of salvation.

    • @AveChristusRex
      @AveChristusRex 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@melissa6261975 "Not all protestants believe that all one must do is believe."
      Isn't that just semantics, then? If you do 'have' to do good works ("[believing is not all we must do"]), 'will' do good works (i.e. in contradistinction to 'have to') is just a way of saying you have no free will anymore once you're justified.
      Meanwhile Catholics acknowledge both that good works follow true faith, and are necessary, and you have free will.
      But none of that implies God owes you salvation for these works. What does St. Paul say about good works? "no one may boast." What does Jesus say about good works? "when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do."
      If salvation was EARNED by good works, we would be abel to boast.
      But the _whole point_ of the New Testament is that it's impossible to please God (read: do anything good) without faith-and that this itself is "the gift of God, and not from [ourselves]."
      In rejecting faith and works because 'then you'd be able to boast' it means you're holding to the heresy that good works earn justification after all! It's so ironic.
      The devil, master that he is in deceit, has actually hidden the doctrine of demons in plain sight. He has implanted the very heresy that Protestants claim to hate so much in the core doctrine of Protestantism: sola fide.
      When you think about it more deeply, sola fide actually pads and protects the enshrined heresy, so hallowed that it never sees the light of day: that doing good works MUST ACTUALLY always be repaid (i.e. for which reason we must not consider them a part of justification).
      The irony.
      Whereas the eternal Catholic faith protects the idea that good works do not and cannot earn salvation, but flow from living faith, which itself also is the gift of God.
      I pray that Christ enlightens you to the error of Luder and his 16th century cohorts.
      Works ARE evidence of justification, but not NECESSARILY of ultimate salvation (heaven), since heaven doesn't necessarily follow justification. After all, once justified, you can still choose to sin (which is to choose hell). IN FACT, most who start off Christian, not only the rest of the world, will actually end up in hell! Who believe FOR A TIME, says the Truth Himself, but after so many temptations and trials, falls away.
      "If the righteous man shall scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?"
      God bless.

      @doge fm yes i agree with you. I have not encountered so much anger from fellow believers. How sad that the family of Christ is so divided and hateful, when this is opposite of what the Gospel is about. It is so much more than intellectual belief. It is about believing and being transformed into the nature of Christ. Which thank goodness I know the Lord, because based on the hateful lectures I have rceieved I would never want or be a chrisitan. I attended seminary, have 3 masters and went through confirmation. It's only modern American inventions and dispensational nonsense that tries to make the woman something other than Mary. Dont fall for lies. But rather, Behold your Mother. After all, you cannot have Jesus as your brother without also having Mary as your Mother. And you cannot have the Father without being born through a Mother (Baptism).
      You will object saying: '"I was already born to my real mother. so how can I as an adult go back into another woman's womb and be born again?'

      It's 100 souls, not 1000 and it's attributed to St. Gertrude the Great, the only female saint with that distinction, I think. I would not follow anything from Faustina, I read parts of her HUGE biography and it was full of remarks that I and many, find self-promoting, not saintly. One of her claims was that a "consecrated host flew into my hand", which is a sacrilege. The problem is most people do NOT READ and are spoon fed. I have come to doubt with just cause, some Vatican II canonizations.

    St Gertrude’s prayer to release 1000 souls from Purgatory. “ETERNAL FATHER, I OFFER THEE MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD OF THY DIVINE SON, JESUS, IN UNION, WITH THE MASSES SAID THROUGHOUT THE WORLD TODAY, FOR ALL THE HOLY SOULS IN PURGATORY, FOR SINNERS EVERYWHERE, FOR SINNERS IN THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH, THOSE IN MY OWN HOME AND WITHIN MY FAMILY. On page 113, he says, "Souls who depart this life in the state of original sin are excluded from the Beatific Vision of God. (De fide}" (Ott 113). He also quotes the General Council of Lyon that met in 1274 when it taught that, "The souls of those who die in original sin as well as those who die in actual mortal sin go immediately to hell, but their punishment is very different" (qtd. in Ott 113).
    "The spiritual re-birth of young infants can be achieved in an extra-sacramental manner through baptism by blood (cf. the baptism by blood of the children of Bethlehem). Other emergency means of baptism for children dying without sacramental baptism, such as prayer and desire of the parents or the Church (vicarious baptism of desire--(Cajetan), or attainment of the use of reason at the moment of death, so that a dying child can decide for or against God (baptism of desire--H. Klee), or suffering and death of the child as quasi-sacrament (baptism of suffering--H. Schell), are indeed, possible, but their actuality cannot be proved from Revelation Cf. D. 712" (Ott 114).
    These quotations come from Dr. Ludwig Ott's book "Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma."

    I love Jesus with all my heart.
    I do believe that in Limbo as I remember a dream years ago when Jesus took me to a place and it looked like a huge waiting room.
    He said to me ' You see these people they are waiting, but you won't be waiting forever', I didn't see any children there though.
    I remember another time in my Christian walk when I suffered terrible loss and blamed God, I was so angry and couldn't stop cursing him for taking my loved one.
    I had a dream that night I saw a dome then I was falling so fast I landed with a load of other people in a pit. I will not repeat what happened because it was something although
    awful was also so right too because I wanted to get right with God there.
    When I woke I didn't feel angry toward God anymore, he had healed me and I was glad.
    I do think there are levels of Hell, as God says He is God of Heaven's of Heavens, so I believe there are levels of Hell too.
    I think the most important message of this whole speech is to focus on Christ Jesus and seek his mercy, read the Bible, pray without ceasing ask him to guide your prayers and he will lead you.
    Jesus loves us and gave himself for us.
    Bless you for posting this, as it was good to share those dreams because they now make more sense now I had heard this.
    I am reminded of a lovely hymn
    'He died that we might be forgiven, he died to make us good, that we might go at last to heaven, saved by his precious blood'
    I pray that I will follow the Saints example and be obedient to Christ each day.

    Very intense homily. But, remember the mercy of God. Many have been left, especially in this time, "to their own way". The price paid for even the ignorant was way too high. He is merciful unto the end. He loved Cain-a murderer, He loved Moses-a murderer, He loved Rahab-a prostitute and grandmother of David-a murderer and adulterer, father of Solomon who built temples to other Gods, but for the sake of David (the one from whom He loved and made His only begotten Son) was spared damnation. God Himself will be the defender of the soul who loves Him with true love. This was the love He had for David. David KNEW HIM, yet still did he sin. He still loved his God with all his heart. This is the story of love of God and sinner, reconciled through Christ and that He showed His love for humanity by choosing this incredible sinner David who deeply loved Him, is beautiful and filled with hope. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil. This I know. Who is like unto God??? I don't claim to know the mind of God, no one does. No one. But His love and His mercy are in His words, "unto the end". Yes, I am Catholic and I love Him and am a grave sinner. But who will justify me before my God and His truth, but the One who purchased it. Son of God, Son of David. As my beloved Mother prays for Her sinful daughter and her salvation. This I know, this-- I trust. Faithful and true.

      You say you are a grave sinner. What did Jesus say? He told the adulterous go and sin no more. He also said if you love me you will keep my Commandments. He also said be perfect just as your father in Heaven is perfect. So what Jesus says is that yes we can become holy. We are all called to Holiness. But first we must repent and sin no more. That is hoe you love Jesus.

    how do the theologians who write the doctrines in these different councils ( like countil of Trent, etc) know exactly what happens to unbaptized babies, and other certain situations? How do they know all these things in such detail? The doctrines are so exact, as if they were given this information, but how could they know this having never known anything but life on this world? How can they write and proclaim these things with such certainty? Did they get divine visions or are they mystics or were they visited by Angels or Saints to receive this information? how do these people know these things to proclaim them?

    Apostle Saint Paul clearly says we can accept baptism for others who have died without baptism. I am extremely far from knowing everything and I am not against the Church or the Sacraments naturally, but I also believe nothing is impossible to God and there can be exceptional cases of Spirit and God is ever watchful. If we were given only a glass of water of an Ocean I prefer to be humble, but again I am not questioning the importance and authority of the Church and Theologians and the Sacraments, all are very important...

    I have a question Father that has been bothering me for a long time. None of us wish to become forgotten souls. We try to live a holy life, but we're human and we sin. For such a grave matter as ensuring our souls get to heaven, we cant really rely on our kids or other lived ones to remember to give Gregorian masses for our souls. So can we, while still alive and young and healthy, give Gregorian masses for our own souls to be spiritually activated years from now at the moment of our death? Can we do it for ourselves instead of relying on others to do it for us?

    • @SmithsnMoz
      @SmithsnMoz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Melissa Monteiro .. I heard of a Bishop who requested for himself masses to be said for him after his death, knowing and understanding that no one would do it for him. You may want to talk about this to a priest in your parish.

    • @melissafeds1344
      @melissafeds1344 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SmithsnMoz Its reassuring to know that there has been someone out there no less a bishop who has thought of this before. You cant talk abt this with just anyone in society esp. those of little faith as they'll just think you're mad. I have heard (for a retreat)that when a mass is said anytime, anywhere in the world, it is timeless. It is as though we were present at the Holy Sacrifice. We are limited by time and space but heaven isn't.
      I'll follow your advice and ask my priest. We are blessed to have good, traditional, conservative priests. A word of caution to all my fellow commentors(esp. those in the western world): make sure u know well the priest whose advice you wish to take. Make sure he's not one of those modern, liberal types or u'll b given wrong advice to your own soul's peril.

      6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

      I believe souls are nothing more than energy that gets recycled into the cycle of life. To me miscariages or babies that die young go through the same process as a dead teenager or a senior who has their tormented energy descend into hell purifying their soul in the process of reincarnation a bit more making the human experience a bit more pleasant.
