Wow, such a *MASSIVE* haul, so much Manga. This was also my biggest month buying Manga too, I got the box set for Demon Slayer (can’t wait to read this because the anime is amazing), 5 volumes of the VIZBIG Vagabond, 10 volumes of Attack on Titan, 8 volumes of Eden’s Zero, first 4 volumes of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, all 3 deluxe editions of Hellsing, first 2 deluxe editions of Blade of the Immortal, first 2 volumes of Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, first 4 volumes of My Hero Academia, 2 volumes of Akame Ga Kill & then 1 volume of Rurouni Kenshin.
Man yeah, sounds like it was a big month for you as well and you got a lot of awesome manga in! The Deluxe Editions are all so beautiful, but I especially love the red color of the Hellsing editions. I just got Jojo's too. I was excited to see it go on sale during the Right Stuf Holiday sale! Glad you were able to pick up the Demon Slayer box set. That one has been going out of stock quite a bit so awesome you were able to find it. You definitely have a lot of incredible series to get into, including two of my favorites Vagabond and Attack on Titan!

If blue lock came out with an English manga I would cry, I know I can read it digitally but it doesn’t feel the same lol. Also the Japanese covers are so fire so hopefully they pull the trigger next year with the anime. Your videos are so good as always, entertaining and informative as always and they go by super quick!!
I feel the same!! There's just something about reading physical copies. I really hope so too and would love to see similar cover designs! I have high hopes that a physical release with English translation will come out with the anime releasing next year. Looking forward to seeing it animated as well! Thank you so much!!! Nice haul. Tons off random finds are always the best. This month I picked up Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Kaiju No. 8, Chainsaw Man 8 and DB Box Set. You came in clutch with notifying us about the box set.

I'm late to the party haha so it's awesome knowing I'm not the only one interested getting into it as well! I also had thoughts of picking it up awhile back but was intimated due to it being so out of print. Hope we are both able to complete it!
Great pick of Blood Lad! A very underrated series in my opinion. Also Hitorijime my Hero is such a good series and another very underrated series

MAR is amazing. I collected it when it was still running years ago and sold the volumes around the same time. I wish I didn't because now I am running around trying to pick them up everywhere I can.

Ah man, yeah Berserk is incredible and the Deluxe Editions are so high quality! I noticed some of the volumes have been out of stock for a bit. I really hope they restock soon so you are able to pick them up! Awesome to hear that you are going to give Dai Dark a shot! It's a fun read and hope you enjoy!
Dont worry berserk restocks pretty often from what ive seen this last year. Daidark is awesome. I got all three current volumes. The books feel nice and heavy. Some top quality material 👌

Always nice to see people get on Air Gear! I'm only missing volumes 14 and 28 from my collection for it. Unfortunately both volumes are pretty expensive; especially 28 I've never seen it for cheaper than £/$250
I just looked at volume 28. Oh no! I knew it was expensive to collect, but didn't know that volume was so pricey. That's awesome that you almost have the complete series! I'm excited to get into it but seems like it will be quite the journey trying to get all of the volumes. I hope you are able to get the remaining volumes you are in need of for good prices!

from experience I can say you can find most of the volumes for fairly cheap online when they do pop up, just have to check every now and then. I’d say the harder volumes to come by (going off of how often they pop up) are 10, 11, 12 and the hardest to find being the omnibus of 15, 16, 17, which I’ve seen I think 3 times? I was lucky and got it for £30 about a year ago but last I saw someone was trying to sell it for 3000
Nice haul. I definitely want to try ultraman. Suits looks awesome and love my sci Fi. Also nice that you got bleach box set 1, just got the bleach box set 1 from backorder and now have the whole series. Lastly just bought the whole series of tagmi bachi. Sadly I payed $53 for the rarest volume 😞 vol 5.

Just looked it up and now I want to get into it as well haha Sounds like it may be pricey though after hearing about volume 5. Awesome that you were able to get the full series!

Yes!!! haha I went with the Colossals because of their print quality and I really love their larger format. The art looks even more incredible blown up in size. I have a video comparing all of the AoT manga editions coming this week! I too was wondering which I should pick up at first. Owned some of the singles and then the colossal editions came out!
Super sweet haul! You just made the same mistake I did with airgear though. You should save and buy a complete set from ebay, I wish I did. I have been looking for vol. 28 for years and have only seen 2 being sold outside of sets both on ebay. First one sold for $475 and 2nd which was in horrible condition for $212.

I definitely realized that after I picked them up haha It would for sure be easier to pick them up as a set as you said but man I got so excited when I saw them on the shelf for cheap. Here's hoping we both get lucky and can complete the series for a decent price! Although seems like that may be quite impossible to do with the prices of some of the volumes.

Love my local Half Prices! I'm super lucky to have quite a few nearby to shop from. And man, I didn't mean to buy this many. I know everyone says that haha but I just kept finding series I wanted on sale or out in the wild!

The Hinamatsuri manga is super fun, if you liked the anime then you'll definitely have a good time with the manga!
I've heard about Psyren over the years, it's good to know that you liked it a lot, it gives me confidence that I'll enjoy it too. Since it never got an anime I feel like most people forgot about this series, which is a shame since it looks super cool.
I never read reviews on MAL or other places to be honest, I like going into things blind most of the times, I don't even look at scores since I just like forming my own impressions from the ground up if possible. Something that MAL can consider bad or OK could end up something that I really love, so I agree with your approach.
The idea behind MachiMaho cracks me up 🤣. The art looks cool, hopefully this one gets an anime or something, I'm sure it would be a fun watch. I would like to try the manga for it eventually.
Yes, Konosuba is awesome, if you ever have some time to watch the anime, then you definitely should give it a go, it's a blast to watch.
It's so nice that your parents got you the rest of JJK, that's a great gift! Jujutsu is also one of my favorites, I'm still shook by how amazing the Shibuya Incident arc was!
Yup, Kaiju 8 is phenomenal, it's definitely my favorite new manga serialization from 2020, it makes me so excited. The hype is real.
What I have read of Kenshin so far was really great, but it's been on my backlog for ages, it is a goal of mine to read the entire series next year. Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) and Hiroyuki Takei (Shaman King) were both assistants that worked on Kenshin at the same time, which is crazy to think about. One Piece and Shaman King are two of my favorite battle shonen manga and they both have a very specific late 90s vibe about them. I feel like reading Kenshin will give me the final piece of context that I need when it comes to getting a better understanding on the influences that Takei and Oda had as mangaka in their early careers.
Seeing any mention of Code Geass brings me back and makes me happy. The anime is such a masterpiece, both seasons are such an addicting watch.
I'm glad to know you enjoyed Black Lagoon, it's such a fun series.
Devilman is such a classic! It's an incredibly influential manga and 100% worth reading. The 2018 anime adaptation is also a interesting interpretation of the source material and it's also worth watching. There's also 2-3 classic OVAs that adapt the manga more closely to the original style and those are absolutely stunning as well.
I haven't read the Welcome to the NHK manga or light novels, but I will say the anime was such a gripping watch. It's a very heavy and depressing, emotional series and there's nothing out there quite like it in anime at least. And wow I wasn't expecting to hear about Onanie Master Kurosawa, it was such a fantastic read and I legit see no one talking about it so it's good to know that other people appreciate it.
Well, here I go again about some art books that may interest you. Since you mentioned Oh Great is an artist you like and you did pick up a lot of his works in this haul, I think it's good to let you know that he had 2 big art books release earlier this year in August (大暮維人画集 Sky &) and (大暮維人画集 & Blast ).
And I will now be picking those up! haha He's one of my favorite artists so I'm excited to find out about these. Thank you as always for keeping me posted on art book releases. I'm just now starting to get into them but you always have incredible recommendations! Waiting for Mud and Sludge to ship from Tokyo Otaku Mode and can't wait for that one to finally come in.
I started reading Hinamatsuri and you were right! Definitely enjoying it. And I've noticed that too about Psyren. It's still highly underrated for how amazing it is but you may be right about it not getting an anime release. I would love to see it be adapted one day since the manga is one of my favorites and it would translate really well into an anime with the battles. It's very mysterious and is full of twists and the characters are awesome as well! And now I've rambled on about it a little, but I love Psyren haha
Ah yes, MAL. I am the exact same way with how I pick up the manga I want to read. Always fun to make up your own opinions and build a collection based on your own interests and gut feelings!
I would love to see an anime for Machimaho too! That would be hilarious and I would love to see the fights animated as well. I will definitely be giving Konosuba a watch. I've heard way too many good things about it!
I also love checking out the influences of my favorite creators. It really is interesting to explore where it all began for them early on in their career as you said! That 90's vibe is nostalgic and comforting to me and One Piece and Shaman King are two I love as well. I hope you are able to finish reading it! I just started getting into but have quite a few volumes to find.
I was wondering if the anime adaptation would be worth checking out, so thank you for letting me know! I will add that and the OVA's to my watchlist (which is ever-growing and out of hand haha).
I have heard that Welcome to the NHK is a harrowing read. I just recently finished reading Goodnight Punpun. Although it's been a bit since I've finished it, it's still affecting me and since then I've been reading nothing but comedy or action manga haha I am hoping to recover soon so I can finally read Welcome to the NHK!
And ah man, Onanie Master Kurosawa is one of my favorites of all-time! It really surprised me and I love the series so much.

Shonen Jump app has really helped me keep up with reading a lot of the longer running shonen! But man, I'm playing catch up now on picking up the physical copies for series like Bleach, Dragon Ball and One Piece haha It is a never-ending struggle to keep up especially with so many incredible new series releasing!

Maybe you already know this but the No Game No Life mainline manga unfortunately only has two volumes and hasn’t received any updates for awhile. I thought I heard that they were either returning from hiatus or going to start over with remaking the manga adaption but I can’t find a source for that info.

the anime adapt light novel volume 1,2,3 and the movie LN volume 6
(the first 2 volume manga series wasnt even finished with LN1)
and since it is public that the light novel is in a final phase, i wouldnt be suprised if the new manga series going be axed there the first season ends.
Manga Adaptations from Light Novels are in my opinion like gambling.

The Index manga .... there LN2&4 are skipped in the manga and had begun actually by LN17 last month in Japan.
In the time as the last volume of the first Index light novel series in Japan ends. (volume22 in October2010), the manga was by light novel 6, and the second anime season began
IndexSeason1= LN1,2,3,4,5,6
IndexSeason2= LN7,8,9,10,11,12,13,SS1 => the anime reached the end of the anime in October2017 , the same month in there the third season was announced
IndexSeason3= LN14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22 => the manga had finished LN14 then the third season began
As the second light novel series the sequel A certain magical Index New Testament ends in July2019 with volume 22R (that is "23") was the manga in the middle of LN15 of the first light novel series.
Actual it gives a sequel of the sequel A certain magical Index Genesis Testament with actual 5 volumes in Japan , in short, a total of 50 main light novel volumes

I'm in now way a Manga enthusiast since I've only seen D Vampire Hunter, Ghost in the Shell, and Akira, and that was many years ago [consequently I can barely remember them].
So, I wanted to ask you: Are all these Manga stories radically different? They all seem so much alike art-wise, and I was wondering whether the stories are truly compelling enough to keep someone not only collecting all volumes of one series, but all volumes of many.
Just to make my point even clearer:
Compare "WAKE" by Morvan and Buchet, with Enki Bilal's comic books [The Nikopol Trilogy for example]. The art is vastly different, and so are the stories.

Hey! All three you mentioned are incredible series and are some of my favorites. I just looked up the comic book artists you mentioned and did see the drastic difference in style. Manga is similar to me in the way that artists have their own unique styles, but there are some that are reminiscent of one another as seen with any medium. I would say to look up Tsutomu Nihei's Blame! vs manga like Kentaro Miura's Berserk vs manga like One Piece by Eiichiro Oda. There are so many unique styles out there in manga and the artwork varies so much. Each artist has a unique way of creating their own worlds as well and the character designs differ. Q Hayashida is one in particular that is incredible at creating a unique world and building a strong cast of characters as seen with Dorohedoro. There are shonen, seinen, josei and more that all have drastically different stories and styles as well. So many different genres to get into as well, so there's so much to dive into in the world of manga! I think it's not only the charm of the creators' art, but also the stories they create that captivate me and keep me reading and invested in their works. Hope that answers your question!

Arifureta is one of the worst isekai’s I’ve read, but I hope you enjoy it.
