    Hello! This sounds just like the issue w/my 2014 Sierra. My cousin replaced his whole A/C unit in his older Sierra so he checked to see if my A/C would take any Freon and it wouldn’t. He’s suggesting it may be a pressure switch. We ran out of time so 2maro I’ll check for leaks when I get back home to rule that out. Excellent learning experience, thank you.

    Mine leaked right where line went into compressor like you said. Easy to find once cleaned off all of the dye, lol. Replaced and looked for cause, mine does alot of trembling at idle, had to be a contributor

    Mine stopped working overnight.. most condensers crack on driver side upper corner.. I just exchanged mine at a local ac shop.. they knew as soon as I walked in where to look. I exchanged mine for one he had already welded. It’s been a year and no problems .. around 350.00. To install and fill up and he kept mine to give to some one else.

      @@mrsnunezrn The information in the video should explain everything however you will need an air conditioning machine to do the job properly. If you don't have that machine which cost about 4k then you will need to take it to a auto shop

    Mine is cracked at the weld what would be the options in getting it fixed?

    • @Garrett9779
      @Garrett9779  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will have to replace the condenser. You can also get someone who can weld aluminum and have them weld it. But an AC machine is required once you replace it and the system is sealed up again in order to vacuum all the air out of the system and then recharging it with the proper amount of refrigerant.

    This problem happened to me this morning. Took my kids to school and my AC was blowing hot. My question is when I lower my AC temperature gets cold but if I set it to where I normally set it. My ac blows hot do you think if I recharge my system will it fix the issue?

    • @Garrett9779
      @Garrett9779  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. It could be because you have a leak and your refrigerant is low. Did you find a leak?

    • @mclovin_it8872
      @mclovin_it8872 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Garrett9779 i was planning on using a DIY AC recharge from autozone But before I did I looked it up on the Internet for some quick fixes and it said to wash down the condenser with a hose. I would say it worked cuz my AC was blowing cold again. My truck only has 33k mil the worst thing that came to mind was that i had to fix my ac system and thats not cheap lols.

      @@mclovin_it8872 OH yeah lol. I didnt even think of that. Sometime the condenser gets covered with bugs or other dabree that blocks the airflow and keeps the ac from cooling. Hopefully that did the trick.

    I don't think mine leaks it has freon, compressor seem to be on. I see it going on and off but still blowin hot air inside

    • @Garrett9779
      @Garrett9779  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably a temperature sensor or a temperature door actuator behind the vents. I'm thinking maybe a temperature door actuator.

      @Garrett9779 Also, the fan at the condenser won't engage

      @@ILIKE2FIXSTUFF Ah yes that's a common issue with ac not cooling. Didn't think about that one.

    • @ILIKE2FIXSTUFF

      I replaced the compressor and the expansion valve. I think was the valve all along but the compressor was a bit noise so I changed it. Look good now. The fans did engage because freon wasn't circulating there. I think there was a block on the expansion valve.

    How much does this cost to fix?

    • @Garrett9779
      @Garrett9779  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Free if it's under warranty. But if you have no warranty then probably around $1500

    What’s the cost

    • @Garrett9779
      @Garrett9779  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Expensive if you get it fixed at a dealership. It’s like $400 in labor cost. The new AC condenser is where most of the cost is though. Between $500 and $1000 for part. Make sure you don’t just take the lines off though. You need to evacuate the freon first and once the part is installed and the lines reconnected you have to evacuate all the air and moisture out of the condenser before you recharge with new freon.
