For beginners, like me, the drummers lingo is like a totally new language, so every help or explanation is very welcome :)

Love your videos, they are very helpful. Minor suggestion: if you talk "over" the mic capsule (at a 90 degree angle across the top, so pointing the addressable end at the ceiling) it will tame the plosives. You can also get the windscreen from the sm7b which will move you off the capsule a bit more. (part # RK345B or RK345, either works and they're ~15 USD.) This will slightly reduce proximity effect, but will give you a cleaner sound. Not a huge deal, but something I didn't figure out for a while and thought I would mention it. And again, thanks for the great video, I was trying to figure out how to count 4 on the floor and it seemed crazy fast at 90 bpm with 16th notes... but I guess that is just pretty fast and I need to dial down the metronome. :)

In School I learned that Rock, Rock-and-Roll etc. accent the backbeat. I assume some drums and instruments keep on stressing the beats one and three. Which drums and which instruments have which role?

Staying Alive, Night Fever, More Than A Woman, & You Should Be Dancing by Bee Gees all have 4 on the floor. And so do Another One Bites The Dust by Queen, Africa by Toto, Tainted Love by Soft Cell, Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This by Eurythmics

@@Ludo_A Ha ha, thank you for saying so. That's an interesting point you make - I do find myself spending a not inconsiderable amount of time these days replying to questions to which the answer could be quickly looked up! Look things up on this channel by typing in "Mike Barnes Drums" then the thing you're searching for into the TH-cam search bar, or even google search. For examples, searching "Mike Barnes Drums electronic kit" would have yielded a video about this kit, and even "Mike Barnes Drums drum kit" would have produced it a few results from the top. Cheers and thanks for watching.
