Reishyn They're different in tone. Labrys comes after 2 other androids, as such her very existence isn't much of a problem. Her personality and mannerisms aren't generic waifu #753 but rather rare, even more so for female characters. She has an accent and not a typically desirable one. Her weapon, the giant dumb booster axe, fits in with other characters sometimes outlandish weapons such as Kanji's folded chair/shield, Kuromaru using daggers, etc. Not to mention the other androids' weapons, built in guns, and a weird beam axe. And she doesn't fight like an idiot, i.e. detaching and reattaching her head, using it like a small ineffective grenade, etc Alisa on the other hand feels like an incredible departure from the rest of the cast. While there have been cyborgs and animals before the cyborgs were either extremely human looking to the point of them not noticing, Bryan, or just weird, Yoshimitsu. The animals all used a variation of actual martial arts, the kangaroos and raptor, and even then there has always been some discontent with their inclusion, look at the bears now for instance. She doesn't have a base martial art but instead has ballet, it looks like anyway. She constantly uses chainsaws and explosions in her attacks despite the fact that they don't do anywhere near the amount of damage their should, even when Yoshi had his sword the few attacks that revolved around straight up slashing did tons of damage in comparison to the ones that didn't, at least from what I've noticed. And her personality...... yech. If you were to hide her face and have her talk you wouldn't be able to pick her out of a line up of other _extremely_ similar characters. So no. The only thing they have in common is that their androids.

Diinytro Let me make a clarification. The problem isn't that you wouldn't be able to pick her out of a line up of similar characters. It's that there are *so* many characters like her. At the end of the day all I see her as is Waifu Robot in Tekken. Note the order of that title. She's not Tekken Robot Waifu or Robot Tekken Waifu. No, she is first and foremost a waifu, and at that the most generic of the type. Then a robot which is relevant to her moveset and occasionally the plot. Then finally in Tekken, and nothing about her screams Tekken like some of the other female characters, to be fair not that many of them are that strong of a character anyway but at least they overall feel like they fit, except for Lucky Chloe. Their movesets are generally inspired by a real martial art. Their character revolves around or has some important connection to fighting. And their character designs fit the awesome modern, near but not quite anime, clothing. 1 outta 3 ain't good.

This is what dialogues in Mass Effect would sound to someone without the translation software. Just a bunch of people, all talking different languages and understanding each other like it's nothing.
I thought it would have been a really cool idea for a contained side mission if your translator software broke down and you had to figure out how to do something with nobody being able to understand each other. For bonus mindfuck points, have the player character also start talking in another language with subtitles... some people would lose their shit at the implication that the entire time, Shepard was actually speaking French, or something.
I just realized that the Quarians constantly saying phrases in their language is kind of a plot hole. And that scene where James gives Shepard a nickname in Spanish is too.
All I'm picturing now is Shepard speaking French and all the females with a certain distance just immediately become enraptured by his dulcet tones. The same result with Femshep, except she gets German or Italian, and it works on EVERYONE.

Pat, Jipachi never had the devil gene that isn't a new thing or a retcon. The boss you battle in Tekken 5 is his dead body being possessed. Jinpachi was always a good man you can even see that in Kazuya's ending in Tekken 5.

I'm triggered. Yoshimitsu is not a robot he just has a prosthetic hand (the hand that he holds his sword with in the helicopter move) so Brosconovitch didn't create him. Dr. B did However make Bryan Fury a Cyborg so he also has that under his name. Also there were 2 different Yoshimtsu's in Soul Caliber the 1st one died so he was replaced by the new one Also Akuma's Whole thing is about finding and beating the strongest fighters in the world if he wins he kills them because he believes in survival of the fittest. He won't fight random people so even though he agreed to kill Heihachi and Kazuya that doesn't mean he'd just kill a child and a man who to him didn't seem as strong as Ryu I agree 100% about Azizal when I saw Jin's ending in Tekken 5 I actually thought to myself "Wow Jin's ending isn't going to be Canon? I mean it looks too much like a what if" I actually thought Devil Jin or Wang's endings would be Canon heck even Kazuya. Tekken 6 going with Jin's ending is like the sequel to VN making the worst route Canon. Tekken 6 had the worst story in the series which is a shame because 5 had the best and 4 was second best (5 had interludes and 4 had a badass narrator)
I've never been into fighting games that much. However, only the Best Friends Zaibatsu can truly make me love a certain type of game or a series. Hell, they were the ones who turned me into a Yakuza and Jojo fan, I definitely thank them for that :D About Tekken 7, I love all the language mixes and the fact that everyone understands each other, it's quite entertaining to watch! Also, it's awesome that Heihachi has the same VA as Joseph Joestar, now I'm expecting him to show off Hermito Purpure and say OOOH NOOO and HORY SHEET!

This just makes the Metal Gear series that much more impressive in retrospect considering it's longer running, has a completed arc, has just as many absurd plot twists, and still holds up better as a whole than pretty much any other franchise.
As someone who doesn't care about Tekken (or fighting games) one bit - what is everyone's beef with Alisa? She seems like your regular-grade anime waifubot that fits right in this fuckup-fest of a story, especially if we've got weirdo Russian robots. Also daily reminder that this story is fucking stupid and I haven't even seen half of it.
Tekken's character roster is about 60% cool guys who belong in a serious fighting game and 40% completely bonkers characters who belong in a cartoony fighting game. It's like one of those Capcom Vs. games that bring in characters from a bunch of unrelated game franchises, only in this case they were actually all designed for the same game because the lead designer said "fuck it, I want robots, dinosaurs and demons fighting too!" It's like if Matt was put in charge of directing a war documentary.
the tekken story is not that complicated. I know it's annoying, but if you read all the wiki pages for the games and watch all the endings, it makes perfect sense

I don't get they're confusion with why Akuma took so long to fulfill his promise to Kazumi. I mean Akuma does this shit all the time where he outright refuses to kill or even fight people if he doesn't believe they're strong enough to be a challenge to him.
It is implied that the yoshimitsu from Soul Calibur is the ancestor of the Yoshimitsu from Tekken, meaning this entire family has a history of replacing their body parts with sick robot arms.
Jinpachi being possessed by an evil demon spirit is not a retcon, though. It was in Tekken 5 and was a big part of Wang's story how he received letter from Jinpachi asking for his help and then he wanted Wang to kill him because he was losing control. And Jinpachi's ending is how the demon takes over him and assumes his final form.
actually pat azazeal was unleashing demon's into the world and apparently he had some connection to the devil gene, which considering jin and kazuya are still alive/dangerous amounted to nothing
And considering what Jinpachi tells Lei Wulong in his Arcade Mode in Tekken 5, that Azazel thing might have been related to why Jinpachi become what he was.

That wasn't a fucking retcon, Pat. It said in the game he first appeared in that Jinpachi was possessed by an evil spirit and he was actually a super-radical good guy.
Some people like to treat Lars just shooting a gun as some kind of epic testament to him not being terrible. Too bad Heihachi was punching missiles with his bare hands like 10 minutes prior to this.
Lars did that in the previous game.

Every time I play or watch a story mode in fighting games, I come to the same conclusion. Fighting games are really stupid.
ResidentSleeper22 It's hard to believe that there hasn't been a fighting game where the story is simply a tournament in a tournament arena, and the main character wins a trophy. That's probably the only way a fighting game story would make sense.
A fighting game with an EA Sports story mode would be almost surreal.

Akuma waited for Heihachi to get stronger because that's just how he rolls. He's always in it for the challenge, doesn't matter what he's doing.
I'm triggered. Yoshimitsu is not a robot he just has a prosthetic hand (the hand that he holds his sword with in the helicopter move) so Brosconovitch didn't create him. Dr. B did However make Bryan Fury a Cyborg so he also has that under his name. Also there were 2 different Yoshimtsu's in Soul Caliber the 1st one died so he was replaced by the new one
Also Akuma's Whole thing is about finding and beating the strongest fighters in the world if he wins he kills them because he believes in survival of the fittest. He won't fight random people so even though he agreed to kill Heihachi and Kazuya that doesn't mean he'd just kill a child and a man who to him didn't seem as strong as Ryu
I agree 100% about Azizal when I saw Jin's ending in Tekken 5 I actually thought to myself "Wow Jin's ending isn't going to be Canon? I mean it looks too much like a what if" I actually thought Devil Jin or Wang's endings would be Canon heck even Kazuya. Tekken 6 going with Jin's ending is like the sequel to VN making the worst route Canon. Tekken 6 had the worst story in the series which is a shame because 5 had the best and 4 was second best (5 had interludes and 4 had a badass narrator)
I've never been into fighting games that much. However, only the Best Friends Zaibatsu can truly make me love a certain type of game or a series. Hell, they were the ones who turned me into a Yakuza and Jojo fan, I definitely thank them for that :D
About Tekken 7, I love all the language mixes and the fact that everyone understands each other, it's quite entertaining to watch!
Also, it's awesome that Heihachi has the same VA as Joseph Joestar, now I'm expecting him to show off Hermito Purpure and say OOOH NOOO and HORY SHEET!

I love the silence that followed "Wolf Blitzer is the Heihachi of the news world." You can hear matt just scrambling as best as he can away from the mic so he doesn't guffaw right into it.
I love the idea of Kazumi thinking Akuma's a responsible person that would kill them before they committed too many wrongdoings and is now just watching in the afterlife like "the fuck, man".
The fact that Akuma/Gouki just went "You weren't strong enough, that would've been boring" for being the reason he waited 7 games to appear in the story is actually so funny and smart and fits the character perfectly.

This just makes the Metal Gear series that much more impressive in retrospect considering it's longer running, has a completed arc, has just as many absurd plot twists, and still holds up better as a whole than pretty much any other franchise.

Tekken's character roster is about 60% cool guys who belong in a serious fighting game and 40% completely bonkers characters who belong in a cartoony fighting game. It's like one of those Capcom Vs. games that bring in characters from a bunch of unrelated game franchises, only in this case they were actually all designed for the same game because the lead designer said "fuck it, I want robots, dinosaurs and demons fighting too!" It's like if Matt was put in charge of directing a war documentary.

There's a community here in the Zaibatsu fanbase that extends beyond the TH-cam channel itself even if some people aren't quite as ubiquitously known as they'd like to think. In any case it's pretty harmless all things considered.
I want the story for Street Fighter to end with some interdimensional shit where Akumas from multiple dimensions all gather for a massive free for all that results in the destruction of all the universes.

I don't get they're confusion with why Akuma took so long to fulfill his promise to Kazumi. I mean Akuma does this shit all the time where he outright refuses to kill or even fight people if he doesn't believe they're strong enough to be a challenge to him.
It is implied that the yoshimitsu from Soul Calibur is the ancestor of the Yoshimitsu from Tekken, meaning this entire family has a history of replacing their body parts with sick robot arms.
Jinpachi being possessed by an evil demon spirit is not a retcon, though. It was in Tekken 5 and was a big part of Wang's story how he received letter from Jinpachi asking for his help and then he wanted Wang to kill him because he was losing control. And Jinpachi's ending is how the demon takes over him and assumes his final form.
If I remember right Yoshomitsu wasn't a Bosconovitch creation. Of the robots and cyborgs he created though, Bryan Fury is clearly the best.
actually pat azazeal was unleashing demon's into the world and apparently he had some connection to the devil gene, which considering jin and kazuya are still alive/dangerous amounted to nothing
And considering what Jinpachi tells Lei Wulong in his Arcade Mode in Tekken 5, that Azazel thing might have been related to why Jinpachi become what he was.
