We won't be able to deal with it _later,_ we have to deal with this _now!"_ And blasts the Azazel turkey with Microwave sin to bring it out quickly all soft and squishy inside, so that he can get shit done FAST.

Actually i played the original first game a long time ago, but i never finished it. Didn't play the second one for some strange reason but i caught up on the story anyway. Played the 3rd one and 4th one. Played the 5th one and 0. And thanks to a friend of mine i got to play 6 for a bit. My favourite is probably tied between 0 and 5, since i like the story a lot more in 0, but 5 had Akiyama-chan so....least favourite is probably 3 because of the strange story pacing. I'd need to play 1 and 2 fully to give a full opinion on them, but 1 being the 1st game did have its issues, while 2 had a really nice story and Goda was an awesome Rival/Antagonist.

Ironic considering Daisuke Gori (Heihachi's old voice actor) and Unsho Ishizuka (Heihachi's current voice actor) both voiced Hercule in the Japanese version of DBZ.

+Jeedy Jay Tekken really should have 2 voice tracks, one with all the characters speaking their native tongues only and one where they redub it with the native language of the country they're shipping it to. That way you have one for people who crae more about them speaking their native tongues than their conversations making sense, and one for people who feel the opposite way.

As someone with virtually no experience with the Tekkan franchise, this LP is some of the goofiest bullshit I've seen the Best Friends wade through, and I'm counting Omikron somehow!
So akuma is canon in the tekken universe? I mean...does that mean Ryu and the others are there too? or are they too busy trapped in the marvel universe.
Just think, if Akuma is cannon that mean Street Fighter is cannon and in turn Marvel is cannon and because of Amalgam Comics, DC is cannon and oh no I've gone cross-eyed...
And let's not forget that Yoshimitsu(s) and the Manjito mean that Tekken and Soul Calibur are in the same universe. Since we're already counting crossovers then that connects Zelda (and the entire Smash Bros roster along with it), Spawn, Star Wars, and Assassin's Creed.
You guys really need to read Street Fighter Origins: Akuma, by Udon. The ending of that likely ties into his connection with Heihachi's wife. Plus the art and storyline are SO well done! You won't regret it.

Probably the most frustrating thing about the story mode is that it has sections that are amazing, but then sandbags them hard with plotlines that don't matter. Then just when the story seems like it's going to be go somewhere super hype, it ends. I'd still take this over Street Fighter V's story, which was just sort of meh the entire way through.
Chris Chen Goddamn right my summery of the story mode is that it's a movie with 3 good scenes. A movie that only has 3 great scenes is still a bad movie if the rest of it is bad to mediocre
The sad thing is that Heihachi's final scenes are legitimately good. It's just that nothing before that really matters. Akuma's scenes are awesome and he's definitely more effective as a threat than Necalli ever was, but he doesn't really add anything to the story other than some cool fights.
I genuinely believe Tekken 7's plot only exists as a way to get the final Kazuya/Heihachi duel, as well as introduce Akuma. Everything else is contrived.

The media was going crazy that day. They had to choose whether to stay with the story about Kazuya being the devil, or switch over to a satellite that destroyed a whole town.
I'm sure people will remember that shit in Tekken 8, but yeah a satellite killing like hundred of thousands of people kind of takes president over Devil Kazuya. They'd probably believe that was just digitally added by the Mishima Zaibatsu to smear G-Corp.
Nasir Jones oh I know in the moment people would be far more concerned about the satellite with that many deaths, but it's the fact that they "forgot", that's what makes it so dumb. With both being a big deal, both should be focused upon.
Tekken's story has written itself into this weird space where there aren't any good guys left. Every single main character is a selfish, villainous, and occasionally genocidal monster. Anyone who's not committing war crimes on a daily basis is just shunted off to hang out in VS mode and never be mentioned in the story.
The interviewer reporter narrator man only sounds like an empty, dead inside, emotionless husk because he probably sat thru the entire Tekken story re-telling right before recording all of his lines.

Kazuya using a laser to shoot down a satellite laser was fucking clown shoes. Only thing that would have been better was Kazuya and the satellite having a DBZ beam power battle with their respective lasers.

Jokes aside. Despite all story problems, Tekken have the most interesting story mode in term of goofy stuff and epic moments thus far. Dead serious.
Only the best friends would do a recap episode of the last game three episodes later to understand the nonsense of this story. I love it.

Probably the most frustrating thing about the story mode is that it has sections that are amazing, but then sandbags them hard with plotlines that don't matter. Then just when the story seems like it's going to be go somewhere super hype, it ends.
I'd still take this over Street Fighter V's story, which was just sort of meh the entire way through.
Chris Chen Goddamn right my summery of the story mode is that it's a movie with 3 good scenes. A movie that only has 3 great scenes is still a bad movie if the rest of it is bad to mediocre
The sad thing is that Heihachi's final scenes are legitimately good. It's just that nothing before that really matters. Akuma's scenes are awesome and he's definitely more effective as a threat than Necalli ever was, but he doesn't really add anything to the story other than some cool fights.
I genuinely believe Tekken 7's plot only exists as a way to get the final Kazuya/Heihachi duel, as well as introduce Akuma. Everything else is contrived.
Pat doing the "my mamma" bit has to be one of the best ones in a while, probably haven't giggled this much since "do the fatalityyyyy".
This makes the SFV story look like the Divine Comedy. Dope game, but *fuck* this writing is fanfiction tier.
I don't care what you say, this is the best fighting game story mode of all time. Nothing beats "soon they forgot about the devil".

I can't follow anything in this story. My college level statistics class wasn't this confusing.
The media was going crazy that day. They had to choose whether to stay with the story about Kazuya being the devil, or switch over to a satellite that destroyed a whole town.
That Kazumi part was the one part of this entire story mode so far I actually liked at all.

Oh wow, this story is so goddamn terrible to a so bad it's good type of shit. People forgot Kazuya is the fucking devil due to the satellite crash.
I'm sure people will remember that shit in Tekken 8, but yeah a satellite killing like hundred of thousands of people kind of takes president over Devil Kazuya. They'd probably believe that was just digitally added by the Mishima Zaibatsu to smear G-Corp.
Nasir Jones oh I know in the moment people would be far more concerned about the satellite with that many deaths, but it's the fact that they "forgot", that's what makes it so dumb. With both being a big deal, both should be focused upon.
A satellite crash that leveled a city no less. A concept so inconceivable, that I think it might actually be impossible.
BX3 it's so crazy to me. No matter how you look at it or justify the next events, it still stays dumb as all hell. But a dumb that I adore at least.

Tekken's story has written itself into this weird space where there aren't any good guys left. Every single main character is a selfish, villainous, and occasionally genocidal monster. Anyone who's not committing war crimes on a daily basis is just shunted off to hang out in VS mode and never be mentioned in the story.
The interviewer reporter narrator man only sounds like an empty, dead inside, emotionless husk because he probably sat thru the entire Tekken story re-telling right before recording all of his lines.
I swear, pat reading off the wiki should have been a big eye opener for him to answer his easy af questions about the story

With all the talk about how Pat hates the "Jin starts a world war to wake up Azazel to kill him" bit, I'm surprised he didn't mention an obvious example of that: Magus does something very similar in Chrono Trigger.
Kazuya using a laser to shoot down a satellite laser was fucking clown shoes. Only thing that would have been better was Kazuya and the satellite having a DBZ beam power battle with their respective lasers.
