Thank you for this. Going to get a 5 channel amp for mine. This helps me with possibly changing the factory sub in my center console with a 6.5 and putting a small amp in the dash.
Lmao yea man been doing this for a while...😅🤣 You'll get used to it. I use to be scared of the sound of clips when they pop real loud from the door or the radio bezel. Not too much anymore
nice. I haven't been paying attention to car audio for the last decade or so, but this product looks fantastic. If I ever get all my speakers upgraded this will be in my car.
So what about the dash speakers? Do they go together with the front door speakers? Also where would you get the power and ground cables from ? Nice video btw
you can get power from the factory harness as long as the fuse for the radio is 15 amp or higher. just get power from factory harness and ground the amp to the frame somewhere in the dash
Another way I could think of to get rid of the door chime is maybe find a remote tap that turns the amp off when the radio is turned off so you can turn off the radio then the chime wont be played at all if the amp is off? Just a suggestion
What’s up JP very nice video I’m installing a Kenwood KAC-1824BT to my factory head unit in a 2016 Silverado. Only question I have is where are you getting the power from to the amp?
Question everything was good but wouldnt you grab the sub signal from the alpine to the speakers instead of from the radion since it rolls off sound? Wouldnt you want amplified signal for amps instead?
I had a question were the radio wires pre cut before you installed it and are the one that's cut in the video are they the same wires just cut to connect them like that
@@jptheinstallguy does that mean i completely by-pass the bose amp? I have already installed some subs and got the wiring harnes to put a line out conversion in. Since i replaced the components, the radio dont seam as loud now. But it is clearer, but just not loud. I can have vol all the way up now with no problems
You need to run a 12 gauge wire from the battery. If the stock power wire that powers your factory radio has a 15 amp fuse or larger then you can use a posi tap to give you power to your small amp.. if you have a regular full size Amplifier do not do this. You can check the fuse size in the fuse panel in the truck it's labeled
I'm just wondering my factory amplifier is shoot I'm just wondering cause I use any kind of 4 channel amplifier to replace my factory amplifier in my 1999 dodge Durango
If you decide to use a 4 channel LOC basically the ones that end in two pairs of RCAs instead of 1, will you be able to keep the fader and balance? without having to use a audio control system?
Are you able to tell me what the power wire is in all that? My radio is cutting out and I need to find out if it's actually getting power or not... Don't know how to figure it out 😭😭
I got a 2021 Silverado Custom, is it possible to hook up one amp for the highs and another amp for two 10 inch subs to the factory radio? I got the factory radio with the smaller screen.
very useful video, thanks. does tapping the sub high level as well rob any power at all even though its just looking for a signal? also, does this sub tapping in, does it matter if its up stream or downstream from the amps high level connection?
doesnt rob any power the loc is just catching some high level and converting it into low level and it doesnt matter where you catch the signal as long as its going directly to the sub. like if you have a factory amp you can catch it at the amp or at the sub as long as it is the wires that goes to the sub and not the wires from radio to amp. does that make sense? i hope it did
Hey bro idk if you addressed the fact the front channel is connected to the dash speakers. I am trying to run 90w to the front. Where did you disconnect the dash speakers at? I need to keep them on the factory amp ATM. Thanks man.
Any idea if by trying to use factory wires as “power/ ground” would that cause speaker hum yes gain is set very low’ I. My case n a 2016 mazda 3 non bose from all info I find the audio signal is trash from factory’ I added this alpine 4 channel power pack and just get massive hum when no music playing or when vol is at 0 Again yes gain set very low Power wire to self powered u dearest sub is ran on 1 side rca cables on the other’ Added a ground loop isolator can not get the speakers to not hum so gave up and took out’ u have any idea what else I could try? Been looking for past year but no new posts addressing issues just that ppl have that issue lol thanks man
Hey I have a 2014 GMC Sierra Denali and I have the same alpine power pack but get the alpine head unit or pioneer unit. An I wanted to kno how do I hook it up with aftermarket head unit and I’m goin to use the factory Bose system to.

I replaced the 2 6x9’s in the front doors with Rockford Fosgate 130w 2way prime speakers I was stupid and didn’t ask the most basic question “is it 2ohm or 4ohm” well needless to say I bought the wrong ones.. I also replaced the 2 6.5’s in the rear doors with 93w 3way Rockford fosgate Primes also. I now need a little more power to the 4 new speakers. Without loosing the front dash mids and center dash high can the alpine KTP-445U be used? And where in the hell is the factory amp located? I’ve read several pieces that it might be located in the center counsel and I really hope it’s not. So here’s my dilemma. This alpine was originally purchased and used in my 2010 camaro Ss with the similar Bose system but I ended up loosing my dash center which was a bummer. So any help is appreciated

Hello I need help bud,I have 4 channel amp for highs and 2 channel for subs, with the four channel I used high level input and wired to rear of head unit dash and door speakers wires go strght to the amp, then I used loc for sub amp but I got no sound, both amps on but no sound plz help
where is the loc wired. you might want to just use 2 loc's. use y splitters on the front loc for the 4 channel and use the rear loc for the sub. or get a processor that will give you the 3 channels you need without losing anything
JPtheinstallguy so I started all over again,I bought the same loc you have the pac-4 or somthing like that,I have that loc tied into the head unit fronts, for the subs I have a kicker loc wich I tied into the head units rears,it’s a 2016 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk 6 speaker setup no stock amplifier and I’m using stock head unit stock speakers and speaker wires
I hooked everything up properly and was trying to find a place to hook up the remote wires but the amp turned on and worked with out hooking up those wires.. anyone know why?? I’m trippin 😂 I left it alone cause it sounds badass and haven’t seen an issue but I literally don’t have the remote wires connected and I always thought they’re supposed to be 🤷🏻♂️
Your video was more helpful than the 10 previous videos I watched all put together! Thanks bro
Thanks man I try to help out as much as I can
Best 14+ Silverado video install for adding a 4 channel and monoblock amp 👌
😂
Awesome video, the only detail that I was hoping you would have included, is where you are getting your power for the amp.
Did oí end up running your own power wire or did you use the harness power?

Watched a few of your videos and they help me stay on point and always think about my installs ahead of time, thanks for your time JP!
Sorry for late response but thank you for watching. Im glad im helping so many people
Found out if you cut down the gain it will reduce the sound of the chimes. You will have to turn up your radio more but the chimes won't be loud
Simple and to the point. Good stuff!
Sweet video man! I literally was looking for this exact video.
Yo keep making content. This video was so helpful 👍👍 Respect and much appreciation
Appreciate you watching
Roger that!!
Great explanation and clean/neat install.
Gratzie mile!
Yes sir. Thanks
What did you use for the power and ground in this install. Would you recommend the PAC GM harness adapter? Great video. Thanks
You nailed it. So well explained. Thank you soooooooo much bro.

What door speaker do you recommend for 2015 gmc crew cab . . Looking for mids and highs
Question, besides the amp what other cables would we need just the 4 rca or another cable?I have the same truck
If you want to get rid of the annoying chime...instead of getting your signal from the front output use the rear output only.
How much has adding just an amp helped the sound and quality of the stock speakers?
How do I hook up 6 speakers to that alpine amp.
Question everything was good but wouldnt you grab the sub signal from the alpine to the speakers instead of from the radion since it rolls off sound? Wouldnt you want amplified signal for amps instead?
will this be effective enough for 4 Pioneer TS-A1670F with a kenwood headunit?

I had a question were the radio wires pre cut before you installed it and are the one that's cut in the video are they the same wires just cut to connect them like that
Alright, question. Does this truck have the bose factory system/amp?
No bose amp in this truck just the standard system. If you have the bose you would do these steps at the bose amp

where did you hook up your power, and ground? can i use the red and black on the green plug?
I ran a wire from the battery for 12v constant, made my own ground on a piece of metal
Run your own power and ground. Amp could draw to much power from stereo harness and will either blow the fuse or low voltage will make amp heat up

if you dont know already you can add an "add a fuse" connector to the fuse pannel on the drivers side for your remote wire
