1986 - when men wore 14k gold chains with their shirts unbuttoned at the neck. And David Letterman Late Show was absolutely worth watching. Brings back lots of memories!
I knew the Linesch family back then and I remember Gretchen well.....she was such a cute, smart girl and had lots more tricks I wish Jim could have shown. Ah, the 80s....what a great time of life, great shows, music......And I still live in Florence. Florence, y'all!
Buddy reminded me a dog we had like 20yrs ago....she'd balance a milk bone on her nose till she was given the ok, then get get it in her mouth so fast you'd need a slow motion camera to see it happen. She'd also crack open sunflower seeds, spit the shell out and eat the seed.
Good heavens - the first dachshund (not miniature) i ever knew (when i was a child 5-10) happened to be named Gretchen too. As it happens, the woman of the household she was part of was actually from Germany. I guess the name is a natural for small German breeds.
03:12 great so cute this dogs i love this animals. the dogs are just adorable my dog died 2 years ago I haven't had any since but I miss the company of an animal so much I have come to often ask myself the question if having an animal has our rating does not make life better frankly
Too coll! at 3;41 Kevin is a friend of my husbands! They just got back in touch after 25 plus years! And find out he has been semi-famous (this isn't the only time he was on tv. He was in radio and tv.
My brother works a a hearing impaired facility in the city and made a very funny video called stupid deaf kid tricks. It is much more funny than this one.

We were always wearing the dumbest fashion choices ... in retrospect. 👓 20 x 20
it is funny when he says 'very impressive' after every trick because it is both sincere and sarcastic at the same time.
Sweet, precious fur babies!!
See this is what I miss about David Letterman. Stupid pet tricks. This show was a real hoot.
I'm hooting now.
Miss shows like this....
These 'pet tricks' segments bring back so many memories, although it's a tad bittersweet to think these lovely pets are no longer with us.
Pets just don't live long enough. Titan the Doberman looked great for 10 years old.
saddening that they r now in memory....😢
@@lunastarr1925 💔
So sad that our pets don't have longer lives.
Their souls came back as other fur babies.
That dachsund was so smart and responsive. All the dogs are great.
David letterman animal guests classics

I miss Letterman, Leno, Ferguson, O'Brien and of course Carson. Late night will never be that good again!
Gretchen really responded to the applause
Titan got stuck on the stage but he still did well!
Funniest talk show to ever show up on the tv box that my parents had in their livingroom. 😉
You missed a few before this one
This was my favorite Dave's costume: Light-grey jacket, bright-colored flannel pants, and boxing shoes.
And at some point those $110 cashmere socks! 🧦
@@Picklesnot-co3k How are socks visible in boxing shoes?
How can you not smile?
When Letterman was on the air we were all in a better place! 1/22/23
jim forgot his jacket
Gretchen was hilarious 🤣

Sweet dogs all!
My dobe did that every day, covering his whole body except his butt. So sweet and amazing. RIP Sams.
Please remember... no wagering!
Thank you. Your reminder came just as I was about to lay down $100.

Letterman never disappoints. He is a lout and graneles with the guests.
What the hell does graneles mean
@@Nitephall Thanks for the question we all want the answer to.
Letterman is lucky he never got his hands bitten off the way he jumps in and puts his hands all over them like he's their long lost buddy!
I betcha these pets were thoroughly auditioned before they ever got anywhere near Dave.
His hands survived, but remember the dog that lunged at him and bit his lip? That was scary to watch.
Omg, why so cuuute! Love it!
The first guy looked like Marcy from married with children
so nice....
Some of the owners too. And audience members. Strange to think of.
Fred didn't look like a golden lab....especially with that different looking under bite

Easy to get a massage from a dog if he put a mouse under his jacket
Thoughts and prayers.
On who?
Florence y'all (♥️)

Titan pretty
No happy ending for the guy who got the back massage?
No happy ending and he forgot his jacket
That's a whole different kind of late night tv.
I think you have to pay extra.

is that David Dikeman the dog trainer????
I thought he looked very familiar.
I wonder if I'm related to him? Lol 😆. We have the same last name! Dykeman
Add at the start = thumbs down.
Let's see. 1986. That means that these adorable pooches are all dead now.
much like lettermans career
So is the guy who got the back rub.
@@namisill850 I'm sure, despite retirement, he's living very comfortably.
Why does Dave have his pants pulled up in his crotch???
... For the chicks.

All the dogs are dead and 1/3 of the guest and audience. Even Dave looks dead today.
The guy doing the show obviously has no idea about dogs. What a annoying person.
