Fun Fact: Because the bosses were meant to be unplayable, they are unbalanced when it comes to fighting each other. For example, Sagat is able to hit a crouching Balrog (Boxer) with High Tiger Shot and Balrog was only designed to be able to jump over the playable cast's fireballs, so he gets hit by the Tiger Shot when jumping too. This makes Balrog impossible to win against Sagat. Likewise there is another bug where apparently if you use Head Press as M.Bison (Dictator) on one of the bosses, he'll go off-screen.

there actually was a way with the game genie. it took the moves of one character and mapped it to another. sagat used ryu's moves, but it was super glitchy and would crash if you tried a hurricane kick because sagat didn't have a move for that. it almost worked! you could also turn the sweat red with a different code and speed it up with another

I always hated how the bosses all had extended jump attack animations. I mean, all the characters had it where they would hold the light attacks for much longer, but the bosses, those attacks were always heavy and would beat so many anti airs! And that was the LEAST of their busted-ness...

I doubt you'll see this, but you forgot to mention that Dictator's head press has three possible outcomes, one of which is exclusive to this version of the character. If the head press connects he will either jump back and perform the Somersault Skull Diver, or jump forward behind the opponent and kick them from behind upon landing (exclusive to WW Dictator), either of which he'll do automatically without an additional punch input. You can influence which outcome will happen by holding back or forward, back for the Somersault Skull Diver and forward for the back kick, hold neither and the outcome will be random. If the head press is blocked Dictator will not follow up with an additional attack and just jump over to the other side of the opponent.

    1. As someone who's played a lot of Alpha 3, it is interesting to see that Capcom designed a character who has an auto-dodge instead of a block, since this is how V-ISM Cody works in that game to a certain extent.
    2. Likewise, how Balrog/Vega/Bison pause before a big special attack seems like it's borrowed from platform game bosses etc, but also looks like a precursor to how super moves would be represented.
    3. I forget that counter hit damage as a concept goes back so many years. I think Blanka had one of these on his ball also? But that may have started in a later game.
    Great video!

Some points I noticed when I played this in my childhood:
    - All bosses (except Boxer) only have strong attacks, even when they "press" a weak button.
    - You can indefinitely knock Claw down with c.hk, as he is hit again even if it's already on the ground.
    - All Dictator's hits sound like punches, even the kicks 😅

Step 1: Knock down Claw. Step 2: Perform meaty jump-in attack, preferrably a safe jump. Step 3: Watch Claw backflip. Step 4: Punish with your most damaging grounded combo that hopefully dizzies...or a throw so you can go back to step 2. Easier said than done, but the AI doesn't know any better.

Suggestion: I wonder if this could work better after SF6 comes out, but it's a Shoto Style comparison in SF, a Ryu x Ken side to side comparative breakdown about how they evolved their shoto style along the years from initially more similar to more personalized versions. Maybe skip versions to make it viable like: SF2 WW, ST, A1 or A2, SF3, 4, 5.

Good stuff.. i love my SNES SF2 game. It's a different version of world warrior (slower) and Balrog (M.Bison) is the only character that can have you on lock down with his chip damaging charge attack. Thank god that Bison his scissor kicks don't deal chip dmg, because that move is broken on the SNES. Sometimes he does that move like 4-5 times in a row.
Too bad that you can't play those 4 characters via a cheat input.

  • @francissebastiansamson8561
    @francissebastiansamson8561 หลายเดือนก่อน

There are some other weaknesses for the boss fights:
Boxer: fighting style is vulnerable to low attacks and cross-ups
Claw: He will always react to a jump attack by jumping back then kick. If you hit him with a sweep then do a jump attack as he's getting up, he will lose on his jump back and kick reaction. You can then keep jump-attacking and he will keep doing the same reaction and keep getting hit.
Sagat: When he's spamming projectiles, you can predict it and jump at the same time he's about to throw another projectile and punish him.
Dictator: He has floaty jumps, Ken and Ryu can simply throw hadokens and dp when he jumps. For characters with quick jumps, if you are in a corner and do a jump back and attack, he seems to react by jumping back and phsyco crusher. You can then keep doing that and keep countering his phsyco crusher.

Hey desk any chance ur band can remake this sf track. Ive got a great idea but not sure how to relay it back to you. Thought id start it off with the capcom logo tune if you know which one im talking about when the game starts off. Drums tom tom kick crash symbol then a brass/sythesizer to start the intro sound follewd with the high hat then another drum roll and crash symbol thats just the intro tho. Did that all make sense???
