Does the Fluidamper require the addition of a wear sleeve to seal correctly to the front seal of the dieselsite high volume low pressure pump? I just did this install of these two parts and the front seal leaks on start up. Help! I dont understand what could be wrong.
Occasionally even with a regular HB I will get a leak after installing another it stops And to answer no I install both together never had to install a sleeve You will need to find if its the LPOP seal that's defunk or a bad Damper that's over cut
I'm ready to watch your start to finish video set for rebuilding a 7.3 properly. I'm thinking about doing my first this Winter and have only rebuilt a couple gas Pontiac 400 engines before.
Just put a new melling 208 lpop and oem ford balancer on my 300k mile excursion. All I can say is wow what a difference. Truck starts way faster, and idles so much smoother.
Ford diesel tech here Make sure when re installing the harmonic balancer to add a dollop of rite stuff gasket maker in the keyway of the balancer to prevent oil leaks. Yes they will leak if you do not. Oreillys rents the harmoic balancer puller and installer
@@007.3lI’m reinstalling mine today do I need the installer tool or can I just tighten the bolt and so just put a dab of right stuff gasket maker in the key way slot ?
Just installed the m208, coated the gears with engine oil per the manual. Didn’t use any Vaseline or grease. Also replaced timing cover (ford, not Dorman), oil cooler gaskets, moroso oil pan gasket, new oil pan while engine was jacked up. Anyway got it back together , filled hpop reservoir to the brim and cranking but no start. My guess is either low pressure oil pump not priming, or cps not reading properly? My thoughts are to remove the 3/8 hex plug / spring / ball “short circuit device” to add oil, this would replenish oil cooler and get some oil into lpop. Would this help it start? Or is there a better way to prime? I didn’t add oil to filter or oil cooler before installing, Would love to avoid removing harmonic balancer again
Yes filling up the pump through that ball springy would do the trick But if the hpop reserve was full it should have ran till the tank went empty so keep that in mind ? oil pick up gasket seal loose or spun hpop bolt
I understand the higher volume lpop benefits but I wonder about who Dieselsite is having make the gerotor set. Those have to be very quality parts to last and I’m a little hesitant on this one.
Do you sell rebuild 7.3 with all the modes you talk about if so I'm very interested I could drive the truck there swap motor and drive it back after I get the new one installed and paid for.
Ok so how do u change the lpop please make that video for us 7.3 crazed gentlemen I have a 96 f350 the truck is held together with bubblegum and string but ya just can’t kill the mighty 7.3 she needs all of these wonderful things done to her it’s the fn money I don’t have 🥲to do it
Ok fine.
Will add it to my ever growing list thanks to you.
Exactly what I was wondering about. Mine needs replacement. Great video, thank you.

I bought the Melling M208, just shy of $200... The HV is a little too rich for my pocket book at the moment
Great information, thank you
