This would be such a fun ongoing project to do from scraps of each quilt you have done. It could be like a memory lane quilt of all the previous quilts you’ve made. 💡
Edit to add: The idea of scraps from previous quilts was inspired by Stephanie from Quilt Addicts Anonymous who is doing something similar (not quilt as you go) using hexies and doing English Paper Piecing. I have an EPP project going now so I am totally gonna try your quilt as go method for another ongoing slow sew project. How fun and relaxing. Thanks so much for sharing

You are such a good teacher👏. I love the fact that you are not perfect all the time! A little stitch mark on the bottom?... who cares if there's a little woops here or there! Truly not a big deal, and that's what shows it was made with love. My great grandmother taught me to sew when I was seven or eight. I still remember her telling me to take pride in a nice even stitch, but not worry if i misses one❤. Thank you for all your videos!!

It’s exactly how I do a corner section with hand sewing. I hand quilted 25 mug rugs for a ladies retreat as we drove 2 states over to watch our 2 grandsons baptism… I took a lipped tray to hold my things and used the tray with hard spots to get through….bc I don’t like thimbles. Thank you for being so real with us. I am not a pro but I love when there is something a little off in my work. It’s not an excuse… it’s love.

If you aren't quick enough and the glue starts to dry just add a "huff" of a breath on it. Opened mouth breath is moist enough to refresh the glue. I think I will do this. I have a bag of 'English garden" fabrics that I have been waiting to do a quilt with

I’ve been hand appliquéing for more than 40 years and I’m also right handed - you might try turning your piece around so you are looking over the edge and not into the edge. It’s really easier this way - why I haven’t a clue😃😃😃. And maybe taking just a slightly smaller bite! I’m not trying to criticize, just giving you a different way. I was taught by an expert (she even wrote books in appliqué but has gone to quilter’s heaven). And I love your board and the egg shape and size! Time to look for a smaller board as mine is great for at home but it’s a little on the large size to drag around! Oh, and I use an iPad so have been taking screen shots since my memory is also shot!!🫢🫢

OK so I appreciate the time you spend making all your videos. That being said, the entire idea of this type of "quilting" is that you dont need any special tools or templates and anyone that can hand sew can basically do it. I grew up making these type of block quilts and you are way over thinking this and making something so simple exceedingly complicated. You simply cut your center fabric and batting the same size and your backing fabric one inch larger, place your fabric and batting in the center of your backing fabric, fold over 1/4" twice and use one or two clips on each side and stitch down. No glue, not template, no tweezer. As you said, everyone should do things that make them happy, but you should also let people know that all the expensive time consuming products are a choice not a need.

This one is gonna be pretty when completed. You have so much patience to hand sew. I’ve never learned any hand sewing stitches but I think it’s time I get out of my comfort zone. 🫣 happy to say I do have some of those self threading needles already. 👏 🤞🤞

I have my (40yr old) wedding dress I would love to make a wall hanging using parts of the beaded embellishments and a throw size quilt using the fabric that does not have any embellishments. Any tips, tricks when using this type of fabric with cottons, (ie: do I use stabilizer on the back of the dress before cutting, etc) Any suggestions on Blocks or patterns to use for these two types of projects would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to anyone who has advice for these projects.

If you want a perfect mitered corner, treat the corners the same as your sides. Fold the angled edge in half, then fold the side edges in half. Fold the folded angled edge over the corner, then fold the folded side edges over the straight sides. The corners should be a perfect mitered edge
