About 25 years ago while attending a seminar with DH (it was for his work), I sat with a bunch of paper and a ruler and designed a bunch of quilt blocks very similar to this but never got around to actually making them because of the problem with the excess fabric in the corner. My plan was to make them with all solids due to the Amish influence in the area where DH grew up. I think you just solved my problem and I will be making another quilt soon.
Beautiful block Tracy, just looks complicated when you do the first block but actually straight forward. May I suggest if you do another one that when you put in the small bottom corner piece that you cut away the muslin and ends of block but leave both layers of you accent piece. You have a double layer with the rest of the block and this will give you the same at the bottom. Instead of a single layer , you have the same strength all the way around.
@@christenakavanagh5696 I was wondering about that. You could fold the muslin under and cut off all the little strips and then it would be like the rest! That’s a great idea!
This nice lady needs more subscribers, she gets enough and it will help defray the costs of making the videos! Really enjoyed the tutorial!!! As soon as I have time to breathe I want to try one! Thank you!
Regardless of how long you have been quilting(me, I have been quilting for about 30 years) you can always learn a new trick, thank you for a new idea and for a very good step by step instruction video. I am now today a jew subscriber. Hope you hit you goal.
I absolutely love this block! All three patterns are gorgeous, however I like the last setting the best. Thank you for the video, it’s very informative!
I am in love with this quilt and all the variations too! Your instructions were easy to follow as well. I can’t wait to try this. I’ll update my comments after I make it. I’m so excited to begin!
This is absolutely stunning, this is so versatile change it up for different seasons, months or holidays. I’m making my first double wedding ring quilt now ( I’ve waited many years to do) and you can bet I’m doing your design next. Love a quilt that’s easy and all lines are crisp and neat. Thank you so very much for doing this video, your instructions are impeccable!
I appreciate the great detailed work you put into your videos, as well as your quilt patterns and other sewing ideas. I love this kaleidescope pattern!
I just came across your channel for the first time this afternoon. Wow, what an amazing quilt. Your tutorial is awesome! In the future, I will make this block many times, because I can see me trying over and over till I can perfect this block. It will take me many trys for sure. Thank you for going to great details with this tutorial. Your work is very beautiful. YOU ROCK!!!
Absolutely amazing Tracey! This has got to be your best quilt yet and I already totally love everything you do. You’ve really inspired me to give it a go. I think you’re right - one block a day and take your time x
WOWZA! 😳🎉😳 I LOVE ALL 3 LAYOUTS of this ABSOLUTELY AMAZING QUILT TOP! I can’t believe how many different designs you can actually achieve with this one block! Fantastic job! 🥰❤️😘🎉
It's been years since I've made any kind of quilt because of limited space. Well, I'm in a new house and now have room. I'm currently working on a quilt for my daughter. I came across your video on how to make a kaleidoscope share. I've seen them before and wanted to always make one. Thank you so much for posting this video. This is going to be my next project. My husband even really liked it. I love it ❤. Thanks again.
I imagined subscribing twice, looked at your numbers. Tada... you've made it!!! Love this quilt so much. Bi only like about three layouts... but 64 of these blocks! Whew. Hugs, Chel 🌸
It’s making my head ache just watching your video 🤣🤣 Gorgeous quilt block but I’ll just admire it from afar 👍 Looking forward to seeing everything you make in 2024 🤩 Thanks for sharing 👏👏🇬🇧
Oh my gosh - what an amazing block! I love all the layouts so I’m not gonna pick one - they all are winners! You are so soothing to listen to and learn from.
Maybe the 2nd is my favorite. I thought all the blocks were going to be arranged in the same direction like a sun with rays. What a surprise ending! Glad you feel better!!!
GORGEOUS!!! Could you mark across the bottom where that accent piece will be seamed as a guideline for where you need to stop? The ombre fabric brings this to a whole new level. Itmakes the block, and the quilt, absolutely shimmer! Brilliant!!
I think this is the fifth time I've watched this. I have a cold, and your soothing voice put me to sleep partway through. I started this time (5:30 am) about 10 minutes in and finally watched it all. This is so complex, but I can see how it would become easier after a few blocks. Lots of prep work with drawing all the lines!
I love all three layouts! My question is, are you going to have a company print out this quilt block onto a stabilizer so we could buy it? Would be so much easier than having marked every single block before sewing them! I would buy them!!! Thinking about taking one block to a printer to have copies made up for me!

I have picked my fabric, understand the first white block is 12.5 x 12.5 but what size should i cut for the red and the white,.
GORGEOUS!!! Could you mark across the bottom where that accent piece will be seamed as a guideline for where you need to stop? The ombre fabric brings this to a whole new level. Itmakes the block, and the quilt, absolutely shimmer! Brilliant!!
This is incredible!
Thank you for the free pattern your instructions are good 😊

Happy to help❣️ LOL😂
They're all beautiful
I LOVE this quilt. Just a reminder: once starch is applied do not use steam when pressing. The steam dissipates the starch. Thank you for sharing.
Missed you, Tracy. Glad you're back.
Glad to be back Gloria❤️ Thank you❣️
Beautiful quilt block, I am going to give it a try.
