Great video Josh. I've been researching these tanks and sending units. One of the forums mentioned that is you use a EFI sending unit for these El Caminos on a 22 gallon tank the fuel gauge will be way off. Did you find a solution for this?

I’ve been told by gbodyparts.com tech support, who is running the same setup, that the only difference is that when the gauge shows “Empty” you’ll actually have 5 gallons left. I’m fine with that.

Did you get your fuel gauge read correctly with the 17 gallon sender in the 22 gallon tank?

Im replaceing the sending unit in my 86 Monte Carlo but it only had two lines and the new one has three like the one you have my question is which lines do I use

The sending unit with three lines is for fuel injected vehicles: feed, return, and vent. The two line sending unit is for carbureted vehicles: feed and vent.

How long did it take to get your parts? I ordered my tank and sending unit from Dixie restorations awesome guys. I ordered at the end of January and just got the tank yesterday the sending unit is still a week out. It’s for my ls swap in my 85 elcamino

I think it took about a week to get everything. I got the sending unit, pump, and tank strap isolators from gbodyparts. I got the tank from rock auto.

@@CarsandJoshee yea I was told both the tank and sending unit was on back order I didn’t order the tank from rock auto because I couldn’t verify that it was baffled or not
