54°F is a very low temperature. I hope this method will help you out. But keep an eye on that temperature, there are a few cameras out there that are defective and actually really overheat (more than 60°C - 140°F). Good luck!

Hello there. I am surprised your pocket 3 still overheats. After the first firmware update, this crack was not necessary anymore. Did you install the latest firmware? This should fix your problem. Beside of this, try to reboot your Pocket 3. Turn the cam on and hold the record button for 10 seconds. Then restart the camera. If even this does not work, then totally drain your battery until the camera is totally dead and then recharge. One of these methods should work. Good luck!
I live in Ireland in the EU but I'm just a one hour drive to Northern Ireland which is outside the EU. I think I'll drive to Northern Ireland, buy the Pocket 3 and install the firmware while connected to the UK's mobile network before returning to Ireland. I'll also disable auto install of future firmware upgrades so that I can control what location I'm in when they are installed.
No! Not at all! It's a great product. All video recording devices in the EU must switch off at 48°C. The problem is the EU regulations and not the devices.
Maybe it is dji's intention that this is so easy to fix. Of course, DJI has to comply with EU regulations if they want to sell products there. But maybe this is a legal loophole that is simply being exploited. Because the law probably does not prohibit circumvention, or it simply lacks this passage, and DJI is using this loophole to allow users in the EU to circumvent the 48-degree lock. Not officially of course, but under the radar to the leakers who then spread this information. That's why I don't think DJI will close this loophole, but will allow users to bypass the lock as a special service. If anything, the EU will probably have to adapt its laws to explicitly prohibit such circumvention!
It looks like EU is like some leftist dyed hair drug addicted victim mentality immature person afraid to break a nail, while outside of EU people can be mature and just shooy things just like with leathal guns as needed. It is a deal breaker and unusable if I couldnt film long videos that are at least 1h long.
The hack already worked with the osmo action 3, so for a little over 2 years now. And now it also works on the action 4 without any problems. So if it was a liability issue, DJI would have fixed it long ago or prevented it with one of the countless updates that have been released so far. Outside the EU, there are no problems with the missing temperature lock. In the EU, on the other hand, this lock must exist and it works. Temperatures above 48 degrees are not reached and DJI is therefore complying with the law. If the law does not say that the lock cannot be easily bypassed, then DJI is not vulnerable and therefore sees no reason to change anything about this small but subtle "bug". If the lock is circumvented, then the user is responsible for it, because DJI does not say anywhere that it can be done so easily.
@@TheBestShowmanmany thanks had a go this morning at 4k 25 frames and it recorded for 3 hours 3 minutes and 4 seconds , it only switched off because the sad card was full . Once again many thanks
The author of this solution to the problem is a Pole. Unfortunately, bypassing the temperature limit may result in damage to the mechanisms inside the camera, e.g. damage to the display. There is a video, but the creators of other channels block all links.
The limit of 48°C has absolutely nothing to do with overheating. The cam overheats @ about 60°C. This is where it regularly shuts off, after using the text file. If you buy a cam in the States, it shuts down at about 60°C. Take the exact same camera to Europe, update the firmware and it is forced to shut down at 48°C.
