It's great you guys did not trash other truck companies and said the ups and down of this truck. This is the best review of this truck I have seen because of those things.
I found out it is just a push clip. If you push hard in the center, it will sit flush again. Problem is every time I go through a car wash, they pop out again.
Weird. Not sure why a new truck would do that when it's 90 degrees outside. I could understand when it's winter. Just wish someone knew why it did this and it only happens with some of the Ecoboost, but not all.
Man that sounds like fun work. It's hard to really say since I only have about 9K on my truck. The most beating I do on my truck is hauling and towing. I don't have mountains by me, so its just around the jobsite which can be tough, but not mountain tough.
It's the Lariat 4x4. Cost about 45K, so I would expect a lot for that price. Currently it's starting to have some squeaks, idles ruff and when I am at a stop and have the windshield wipers on, I feel it on my brake pedal, weird. Love the truck, but very disappointing with some aspects of it. Now if it was cheaper, i would understand.
Good point. The Ford is nice, but not sure if its really worth the price. I like the truck, but some things are cheap and it reminds me of a 70's Datsun.
Good question. I think the Ford and GMC look the best. You might be upside down if you sell the Nissan. Your Nissan is still new. I would probably wait a while and make sure the Fords don't have any real problems with the Ecoboost.
I did check my facts... Ford did not borrow any money from the governmental $80 billion dollar bailout program. They did take a DOE loan in 2009 to retool several of their plants in order to make more fuel efficient vehicles to meet stricker governmental guidelines on fuel economy. Of the big three U.S. automakers during the recession Ford was in the best financial shape.
So..... this you guys find the compass yet? Right there, in the center of the dash, on the touch screen, in the top right corner beside the time and outside temperature?
Love these trucks, but for what Ford is asking for these trucks one could get a new 3/4 ton Ram. I realize the Ram doesn't have the Ecoboost but you do get a beefy Hemi and a lot more payload for the money!! Don't get me wrong, these are nice trucks!
Nice to see an objective review, I've heard that the engine is great, but good to know about some of the more practical things, like fender flare, tailgate, etc.We are Looking for a dependable work vehicle, we do tower work so we beat them up on mountain roads and tow things from time to time, got any advice? This vehicle has great towing, good gas mileage and is comfortable, seems like a good choice but looking for best value. my rep around the shop depends on it :) Thanks for posting.
I was Going to trade my 2011 Nissan Titan se 4x4 for this truck that only has 8,000 miles on it. I have no weird noises or any problems, just think the ford looks better. I owe 27,000 still but after tax only paid 29,800 8 months ago. If u had my truck would you trade it for the ford and owe like $40,000?
Almost bought a 2012 f150 fx4 new years eve but changed my mind after driving it. Seemed way slower and handled like a boat compared to my Titan. When I shut the doors the insides rattled, and the door locks shut sloppy, sounded like they were going to brake. The sunglass compartment shuts cricked as well, seems like poor build quality. Plus I don't think it's worth 23k more then my truck just because it looks better.
Having problems with it already.A heavy miss under a load when pulling a trailer,bad programingin the computer system.My father's friend Tim's brother in law bought one and this happened to him.Even read this in on the internet with other owners having this same problem.Putting a twin turbo set on a V6 is a huge mistake,the rods and pistons won't take it.Ford better watch it,have competition from Dodge next year.Dodge is coming out with a 3.7 V6 non tubocharged with 305 HP.
That tail gate step is crap crap crap always in the way I can t even sit on my tailgate for lunch anymore! try draging anything out of the box and it hangs up people are starting to remove them around here use the step bumper and swing a leg over the gate,...what a mess!
I actually found the tailgate step VERY helpful with my F150 but I have a 6" lift on it, haven't had any problems loading and unloading things out of the bed like you're mentioning but I guess that all depends on what your hauling.
Ford does not "just overlook" things. That is obviously a fluke thing you got there. Serves you right for EVER buying GM. Go back to your GM products where the paint flakes off in 4 years...sheeeeez!

re: your rough idle comment. My Ecoboost only idles rough when it's cold. Once it gets warmed up it smooths right out.
I have that gap on my fender flare too. I wonder if thats just the way they built them

Apparently alot people are feeling that wiper problem like you, ford didn't use much vibration protection on the wiper motors.
Do you have collateral like I don't know the blue oval It was put up a long with much more.
