I was born in 1954 and remember coming into the house to find myom crying watching TV . She was watching coverage of Bloody Sunday. I sat down and watched what was happening. After the coverage change. My mom talked to me about what I saw. She instilled in me to always fight for the Rights of others because I would someday have to fight to keep my Rights too. I am 69 and have always remembered that. She said that not fighting for the Rights of others would be a danger to the Rights of everyone. We were a white family but I was raised to be aware that everyone has to fight for all people's Rights.

Not only is she well spoken she is working for her constituents full time and takes positions that can be supported with facts. Im leaving in Keller Fort Worth, but even though I'm not in her District in Dallas, I'll support her always, because she is really doing a lot for Texans. I moved from NYC after retired from Banking Industry, with my husband in 2011, and this is this 1st time I'm feeling supported as us being democrats. Thank you for this informative episode! I’m a Missouri born & raised, transplanted Texan (40+years). I have voted Democratic for as long as I can remember;however, truly an Independent. I listen, watch and research thoroughly, every election and as many people on the ballot, whose ideology is reflected. I am very proud & supportive of Jasmine Crockett, Beto O’Rourke, Colin Allred, President Obama, and our current President Biden and Vice President Harris!!!! These are the people who I can identify with most, who represent not only my beliefs, my people and make every effort to protect, serve and defend ALL Americans’ rights! They do it respectfully and I believe with integrity. I am thankful to learn and discover that Republicans like Liz Cheney(unlike her father) has a strong sense of commitment to America’s democracy. The Adam Kinzigers, Mitt Romneys, of the Republican Party, along with Liz, although I see them as good people, made their voices shift too late! They along with many of their colleagues are responsible for DJT! As a Christian, I pray for God’s discernment to help me with everything I do and say. You probably have someone like this representative but you haven't discovered her! Go to your Democratic headquarters and talk about it. Some cities have Black Democrats organizations! Universities also are an even better place to look for your " wish"!
She really gives us hope here in Texas. This state really doesn't have a government that represents Texans due to all the terrible political gerrymandering by the GQP legislature.
Texas is already a swing state with its diversity of voters, but you wouldn't know that because of all the voter suppression in urban districts.
