Respectfully US DoJ justice delayed is justice denied. There needs to be greater consequences for all of the wrongdoing.

Thank heaven for independent reporting and the internet. If not for them, this nasty story would have never gone viral, and Stokes and his cronies would have gotten away with it. Even now, they deny they did anything wrong!

I had heard about this previously and couldn’t believe it. I am relieved that it was finally found for truth and Justice. This was the most egregious example of racial discrimination I had ever heard of outside of lynchings and that was in 2020. Good grief!!😮😢

As a retired Army veteran I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. I'm sure Mayor Braxton's challenges are not over but I have great respect for his tenacity and determination. Wishing him and his community only the best.

How is this not a coup? The previous mayor and town council should all be criminally charged. Since it is Alabama, I don't expect charges at the local level. Since their actions appear to have denied residents the right to vote, among other alleged crimes, the federal government should criminally charge the previous mayor and town council.
