I worked for the public school system in two states. The limit of gifts was $25.oo. I occasionally accepted gifts like flowers or a box of candy to share with the staff. I did see staff members receive gifts on 500 dollar leather items 😢

I have a small business and i arrange for USPS to pick up my shipment from home. I wanted to give the mail carrier a tip and gift, but I learned that they are not allowed to receive tips, and you could not give them a gift worth over $20. It's the law. It's a shame that these corrupt justices, who are supposed to uphold the law, are accepting extravagant gifts.

The dirty money

I hate to sound like a conspiracist, but 6 (or possibly 5) of these justices are members of an extreme Catholic cult called Opus Dei. One of tenets of this group is the right to lie for the greater good. The goals of this cult is not primarily religious; it is $ and power.

So dems won't add more justices to the stolen facist racist court the only solution... just meaningless BS. Dems can go to hell, they will do nothing to restore our rights. Vote this POS out.

Now that we see that these Emergency Dockets or Shadow Dockets being misused by the justices, it is time to stop this and all other assults on real justice.

The Senate has too often abrogated their authority and duty to safeguard the citizens of the country by rubber stamp approvals of presidential appointments. The only rejection of a nominee I can remember was Bork, while I believe at least Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Scalia, and possibly Roberts, Rehnquist, Warren, and Fortus should also been looked at harder by the Senate before they were approved.

The present billionaire federalist society majority Supreme Court is antithetical to our democracy.

What happened to the Supreme Court is dark money and republicans.

They only want the cool kids on the playground when teams for kickball are being selected. "Cool kids" here means Trump/GOP white voters.

Enough is enough. Democratic _leadership_ needs to listen to their base for once & make it part of their platform to expand the numbers of rigged, unpopular Unsupreme Court. What's more, they need to reform the court with a binding code of ethics and term limits. This country cannot withstand this particularly partisan, absurd court for another generation. 🙄They are taking us backwards. It's time Democratic _leadership_ to change.

The Supreme Court had a good run right before MAGA, but I think the entire history of the court shows that it is often a coin operated vending machine.

This is great to hear that the Supreme Court justices will soon have guardrails to preserve our democracy and keep it from falling into unethical hands. I hope we also have guardrails for the independent investigator monitoring the Supreme Court justices’ conflicts of interest and recusing themselves from cases as needed. Hope to hear more updates on this and please vote top to bottom blue in order to get this going. I also hope we are able to salvage the good bones of the original Republican Party after we purge all that is MAGA -Tea Party republicans who have divided our country with Russian propaganda. And nothing but a bunch of grifters with interest in filling their pockets with money, financial fraudsters, sex predators, you name it we’ve seen them being indicted.

The six conservative justices on the Supreme Court are responsible for the decline and continuing free fall of public approval and confidence in the high court. Even though there is no code of ethics for the justices , some of them and especially Clarence Thomas have engaged in corrupt practices that are prosecutable, makes it clear that a strict code of ethics needs to be imposed on the Supreme Court by legislation passed by the congress.

How articulate and exactly spot on, giving me confidence there are others thinking this way. I too had a 'reverence' for the S Court as the heart of our way of life. Everything's seeming out of alignment and might respond to some adjustments. We will see.
