I am in a very blue area. I do not know any folks on the right. If I were to work the phones or even to go to a rural/red area of my state, I am not believed because I am not "local". My two sons will vote (ages 18 and 20) but other than that, the only influence I have is donating money. I feel pretty helpless.

The media have capitulated to subtle brainwashing. It’s like the defeat of President Biden is a fait accompli. The Rump has run a shadow government against the duly elected chief executive with the collusion of congressional obstructionists and centrally-owned print media - in my opinion.

Yes, there are some media courses that are helping to destroy our democracy. There are not a lot of patriots that America is surely known for. America is starting to run amok.

From my perspective, the media is failing democracy. It is all about clicks or viewership. Journalism, on the other hand, is a savior to democracy - good journalism focuses on laying out facts and not opinion. Somehow we have to educate viewers the difference between what happens on “news” channels (opinion is the medium between ignorance and knowledge) and true journalism. This is not a partisan issue although there is a disparity in politics where republicans have changed from the law-and-order party to the lie-and-disorder party. Trump normalized this behavior and the media have done him a favor and supported this behavior.

There are others, why not give any and all of them a shout out? Also, point out that these are journalists who are protecting democracy. Without democracy there will be little or no Freedom Of The Press!

The major changes in our political environment can be attributed to all the money being invested by corporations and their billionaire benefactors who have been putting their money on the scales of justices. Thanks to the judicial changes of the supreme court, corporations have become a major factor in our political system. We need to curb the power of these corporations in our political system. Look at the oversized influence of the Federalist Society, Heritage Foundation, ALEC, and other billionaire backed organizations.

I was raised the right way by my mom that included equality, acceptance, anti-hate, women's rights & the horrific reality of assassinations. I became even more aware of issues because my sister was in high school while I was still in elementary school. I was a pretty nosy kid sister so I picked up on a lot of what was going on in those years. It got boring when my sister got all involved in all things "prom". I was mouthy as well as nosy & so it all began. First getting involved in sit-ins & protesting for equality & against racism & at added in protesting Vietnam & continuing support for women's rights. My military lifer father really "loved" my opinion on Vietnam! The level of hate, racism & anti-women's rights that I see now is even uglier than before with the help if social media. I had genuinely believed that we had made a difference back then & resolved the disgusting issues of those years, that I was so sure were dead--never to rise again. So very naïve & foolish
