Honesty, from an older woman's perspective, what we really want is a man who will talk to us, listen, be affectionate and honest. We understand aging, we are going through a lot ourselves with body image issues. Men, don't let ED stop you from being affectionate, don't look at it as a failure because it doesn't have to be. Stay connected with your loved one, talk, give women some credit please.

My dear husband had ED after no problems for decades, it came on over a few months and later he could no longer urinate, a trip to the er discovered renal failure and multiple myeloma, a cancer. Sadly he passed away 14 months after diagnosis. If we had known that ED can be a symptom of something more than getting a magic pill prescribed we would have known to go to a doctor sooner. I am sure this video will save lives in the future. I started watching your great channel because I am having my first TKR in June and found your channel on knee exercises, I am doing PT now to get stronger and more flexible. Thank you,

Yeah well i went to a cardiologist after getting ed and he was annoyed that i was talking about ed. He said he is a heart doctor and your heart seems fine after simply puttinf his stethoscope to my chest. And i have been to countless pther specialists including 6 urologists. And all my dozen symptoms including ed started immediately after varicose vein surgery. The surgeon had no idea what happened and refused to see me again. All of these doctors are useless. Overpaid. Cant even fix problems within their own specialty and problems they caused!! Every Doctor should be able to do corrective surgery, there should be a full body scan to locate any problem within the body. They dont have anything close to that and its 2024!!@ @TalkingWithDocs

Bless all 3 of you doctors. Y son in law was only 42 years old when he unexpectedly and suddenly had a heart attack that killed him instantly. 90% blockage with no prior symptoms. However, after his death my daughter mentioned they had not had sex for 6 months, even though they were amorous and very close and on video phone or texts many times per day. It seems to me now that he was unable to have sex and didn't want to communicate that. This video could have saved his life. Than, you for clearly communicating on a very uncomfortable subject

I had ED for nearly a year and my cardiologist told me that it was probably part of aging. He even recommended me to see the urologist and the latter offered to prescribe viagra to me, in which I respectfully refused. Anyway, after bouts of side effects with statin, in which It never crossed my mind to be of any link to the ED, I stop the medication and guess what??!! ED was also part of statin's adverse effects. I am back to my old glory.

Bravo gentleman! You did an excellent job of discussing and explaining the physical causes of erectile dysfunction. Men laugh about topics associated with sex and erectile dysfunction, but there is nothing funny about not being able to penetrate or perform during sex.
My husband has had ED for years and we never knew it was related so closely to cardiac disease, but the side effects worried me because he has had A Fib for years as well. I didn’t want him to risk having a cardiac event just to please me.

Wow, this is interesting. I bet this video helped a lot of men in getting info and also feeling better about talking to their doctors. Really interesting that ED is early warning sign of cardiovascular problems. Glad you brought up that sex is really important to overall mental and physical health. That becomes especially evident when you don't have it. It's too bad that many people aren't able to fulfill that need for one reason or another and really have nowhere to turn. Also, as soon as I started watching, I started thinking about your Viagra Blooper video and started worrying that Dr. Zalzal and Dr. Weening were going to start cracking up. Glad you made it through. Very good video.

My husband was prescribed Viagra before there was a generic and while expensive we found a cheaper route was using a Good Rx coupon . Also getting a higher mg prescription and cutting the pills in half or quarters also a saved money.

It is really important to exercise and reduce stress in your life before embarking on medication. Like the Doctor said, stop smoking, reduce alcohol, exercise (walking, working in garden …does not have to be at the gym, just get off the sofa) and reduce the stress in your life. Also, don’t forget that sex with your partner does not always have to include intercourse. There are hundreds of sex toys on the market that men can use to help their wives enjoy sex…and it also takes away the anxiety from guys as they do not worry about getting an erection.

Thanks for another great instructive session. Off Topic Question - Can you guys cover the changes in the use of antibiotics for us joint replacement types for invasive procedures like dental cleanings, colonoscopies, etc.? Understand that guidance may be changing in Canada and potentially here in the States. Overuse of antibiotics is a general problem apparently but personally I don't mind taking them sparingly to prevent any reason that might require a revision. Thanks in advance!

We agreed with the doc that neither of us wants to be in the small minority of folks who would need a revision because of an infection...he said they're pretty ugly, hammer and chisel stuff to remove the cement.

I'm not a doctor, so please keep that in mind. But I can tell you of a friend of mine that went through exactly what you did. He ended up getting the penile injection medication. When he first told me about it, I must admit, I reflexively bent my knees together imagining how horrible it would be to get a shot in the ole John Thomas.
He invited me over to his place for a beer and a chat about his new life. The needle used is incredibly thin and very short. The medication itself isn't very viscous, and he said the whole experience was less painful than a flu shot!
Of course, individual experiences vary, but I can tell you that my buddy is no tough guy... was captain of the Chess Club in High School, and the very last guy I'd ever expect to get up the nerve to stick a needle in his penis. He said the training he got from his doc took all the fear factor out completely.
We're now five years down the road, and he's still using the injection.
All I know is on my deathbed, I don't want to be thinking back on a sexless "sunset years," and wishing I'd talked to the doc.

Just to put my bit in.
I've been injecting into my penis for the last 19 years.
      Never had a problem.
Use it two or three times a month.
Fortunately I live in the UK so I don't actually have to pay but each injection is £10 GBP.
Pills didn't work on me at all.
      Just to add I'm 70

It may also be worth mentioning that ED drugs, especially Cialis, can be ototoxic. This means in addition to causing headaches and making you feel like you’re 90 years old, they can damage your hearing. I have a permanent case of tinnitus (ringing in the ears).
