- Another classic 1-75 series model. This one from 1960 two years before I was born!! Needed a repaint and a fix on the left hand 'A' Pillar. I wanted to be the first to ride in this after the makeover but Kevin managed to jump the queue and beat me to it to the local pub! - One day I shall get one over on him! He also scalded my mouth with boiling water during the making of this video!!

Marty, you do an excellent job on these make overs. My three children, ages 6, 10, and 13, have really been inspired by watching your videos. Every time we go to our local antique stores, they are on the look out for Matchbox cars! I would have never guessed they would be interested in 50-60 year old cars. So far they have not found any, but they aren't giving up.

Hi Marty, I’m the same vintage as you and grew up in Morwell. I now live in Perth. I was an avid Matchbox Collector and I had 2 complete sets of the 1969, 1970 and 1071 with one set still in the original boxes. When I grew up I put them into locked storage to give to my boys when I had them. Unfortunately being the youngest boy of 6, when my nephews and nieces visited, my Mum would give them my Cars as well as my original GI Joe toys to them. Hence I have none left. When I was playing with the cars when I was younger, I used 1 set for outside and most of that time was spent on the nature strip in front of our house. Next time I go back to Morwell, I’m thinking about hiring a Metal Detector to scan the area we played in as I reckon I would find a few of the old cars.
Anyway I love your channel and it brings back many great memories. I still have my boys, early 1990’s cars and will get out of storage.

The paint looks like it was cooked. Perhaps lower temperature and longer baking time. This taxi is lovely. Your new color is beautiful. Thanks for your videos

These were a sod for breaking the n/s A-pillar. The one I have is the same, and is also broken at the base of the pillar as well.

The box on the door pillar is the taxi meter ( which is were we get the name Taxi meter cabriolet or taxi cab for short) The indicators are semaphore trafficators. I mention this only to show what a smart arse I am, and that I'm also old enough to remember them in use in the UK ! Great video and glad to see Kevin back to his old tricks.

Marty! My computer had some cracks in the case and I decided to super glue them up today. I added a spritz of baking powder. Wow! Does that do the trick! Thanks for the idea and the great videos! I really enjoy their relaxing pace and the creativity involved.

Hi Marty, another beautiful restoration. F.Y.I. The device on the left hand side door post is a meter. You can see the " x shaped " timer crank. Similar to an old time parking meter. You would turn it after placing whatever coin was applicable in it. Nice " spit " takes. It does take some practice to get a good one. See ya next time. Nice to see that naughty Kevin again.
