    @R4T you just ran a power cable to 12V battery in your cabin right? or you tapped into one of the 12V that goes from hybrid case?

    Really cool setup. Garmin if your listening add more contrasting colour options and make the switch buttons bigger. I know they camera impacted the quality but light grey on white is not the best for viewing. Make it like grey and orange or black and white or other colour choices. Make them look more like buttons/switches.

    Where on the Sequoia did you pull your power supply for the Garmin switch? I’ve been trying to figure out where to get a good power supply in the engine bay rather than pulling wire all the way to the battery.

      Under the hood, top left corner. Open the black box. Then, The power suply terminal is covered by a small plastic "box" thingy. Unclip the small plastic "box" thingy, its 2 pieces.

    Nice, thanks for the info! I need this for my 2022. What is the max Amp rating for each point, wait just looked it up, 30 amps per point, that is stupid crazy it can do that. $499 bucks though not cheap.

      For the ease and function can make on it, just works no worries.

    Looks like a nice streamline setup but needing your phone or a Fancy Tablet or stereo TO run it Is a little far fetched for people with old vehicles like 97 4runners or 4th gen 4unners

      @@samhartfieldlewis5247 I understand I just don't feel for the price it's practical for me When I drive I don't use or tough my phone I like enjoying the drive so having to add something that is digitally controlled by a stereo or a phone just isn't practical .. to many people these days text and drive or watch movies and drive or use there phones in general and drive or are just easily distracted by there own electronic devices in there vehicle while they drive..

      Your right there is way too may distractions like that.
      Mine is link to a garmin overlander which is a GPS/sat nav, but then adds more cost too the set up situation.
      I put mine were the rear view mirror is so not in the way, check use wing mirrors. But it is a old work truck so doesn’t matter too much how looks as long as works well with out irritating me.

      @@samhartfieldlewis5247 i got you I have the Garmin Tread XL - Baja Race Edition just a upgraded version of the Overlander I'm not saying the powerswitch is a Bad product I just feel it's over priced for what it is older vehicles are easier to cut up to mount switches rather spend high amounts of money on lockers or axles over a 500 plus dollar digital switch when I can buy some 15 dollar toggles to turn things on or off.. I rather spend the high money on expensive components I need over electronics that fail atleast if a switch fails I can replace it and get back to using my device if that 600 dollar garmin powerswitch fails everything stops working with it

  • @jasonm7888
    @jasonm7888 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I know it’s a little pricey, but, you can use the app on your phone if you don’t want to get the Overlander tablet. This is my second off-roading build and after doing traditional switches through the firewall on my FJ cruiser, decided to go this route on my Tacoma. Once you’ve set up the power box in the engine bay, wiring anything to it is super easy. No relays, no rats nests of wires. It’s really good and I’m surprised it took this long for popular influencers to start showing them. Highly recommend it if you want to make wiring super easy and simple and not have a bunch of switches in your cab.

      Will this work if I am in a area without cellular signal. I don’t have apple CarPlay built in my car . So I will have to alway use my phone. I guess I’m asking if the app for the Garmin power switch is data dependent.

    • @jasonm7888
      @jasonm7888 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oem9929 yeah. It’s a Bluetooth connection. So you won’t need cell signal to communicate with it through the app.

    Nice. But there is always a but(t): If you have a fridge inside or in the bed/ trunk you still have to wire all the way in the engine compartment now. It does defiantly save you hassle for the stuff outside and near the motor engine but less for the stuff inside.
