They do not require one, they have a low voltage cutoff and moniter battery voltage to determin if the vehicle is running or not! Makes for a supper simple install.

I bought a powerswitch for my jeep last year. Never installed it and ended up selling the jeep and bought an 18 f150. Plan to install it on that, have just ordered some KC Flex Era 4 lights for it as well.

Yes the Garmin Tread and overlander can be used on the road as well, but the tread is for sure the better option!
