I feel like I watch bag videos for a living. Yours was refreshingly good. Taking it slow and leaving it open while talking actually let me get used to it and sit there and visualize how I’d use it while you were talking. Well done!
Nice video review. I bought this as a EP / Get home bag. I ended up cutting out the laptop sleeve to add pouches. Like you said, not having a way to cinch it down was annoying.
Really appreciate the in depth review of the pack! Your review sold me on the purchase of the pack! What is the type of bottle that you use internal that links to the drinking hose?
I’m glad you were able to find the video useful:) - the bottle I have in the video is the Platatac Decor Flask - I just posted a video showing how to modify it to work with the hydration hose in case you wanted to check that out.
Great breakdown. That pack does have some nice features and I like the layout of the pockets. At 24/25 L its a bit big for me to edc. I would prefer the same set up in an 18/20 liter bag. That container you pulled out with your meds in, what was that? Nate
I agree that a 24/25L is too big to be an EDC. I had a 22L TAD Litespeed before I got this one and even that was too big for EDC iMHO, but I wanted one pack that could work as an EDC but also as an 2-3 nighter bag which which this does great at. I also don’t want to be constantly moving my EDC stuff from bag to bag (as Murphy dictates that is how I end up forgetting something just when I need it). I would be nice if this pack compressed down a bit more when not totally full. The only way to sort of accomplish this is by not having anything in the side pockets. The pills are in a Thrym cell vault v1
There definitely is discrepancy in the volume on this, the eberlestock website says it’s a 29L pack and I just ordered it based on that. So it is smaller than advertised?
Rough …i believe i mentioned this in the review somwhere but the Mesh they use is quite abrasive and i imagine would be uncomfortable on bare skin if used this way Over long periods.
It appears that the zippers bind a little much like the latest Maxpedtion bags because of the lazy mounting of the pull cords that torque the zipper head to the side when pulling the cords…is this true? This and the discrepancy of what exactly is the size made me go with the Vertx bag option that is similar in construction and layout.
I didn’t find the zippers to be overly “sticky” personally. I’m not familiar with the Vertex bag but having initially considered the Arc’teryx AP30, I find it very similar in many ways but at a much more affordable and urban edc oriented. I still use this pack daily and as my overnighted bag and haven’t found anything too annoying yet. I will say that as a hiking bag, with heavier loads I started wishing there was a bit more padding on the shoulder straps
Thank you very much for this video! I have just one small question. If my edc and travel gear is put in "Opsak" brand waterproof bags, does this backpack lend itself well to this type of storage? I used to have a "Reebow Gear" backpack, which was really good, but it was stolen, with all its contents, obviously! Thanks in advance! A subscriber from Belgium.
I can try and throw it on over my Crye JPC and get back to you on that but if it was to guess, I would think that I wouldn’t be the most ideal shoulder strap design to be worn over PPE because of the width and shape of the shoulder strap design.

Thank you so much! That means alot 🙏
@@BlackFlagSummitClub I purchased the F5 Flat Earth bag. It’s spectacular. Better than I expected. Thanks again.

Thank you for your support kababayan!
What a great review! Btw just want to confirm is the capacity 24.7L or 29.3L. The width that u measured is different from the website.
I made a video specifically addressing that discrepancy:

Good info. I am not a speed reader so it will be helpful to put comments up a bit longer! Thank you!
Yes! Very very valid point. Thanks for that feedback 🙂

@@BlackFlagSummitClub Murphy definitely makes the rounds, that's for sure.
Great video, thanks for the info! Sold me on the greyman version!
Glad you found the video useful in some way :)
At 11:00, what pouch is that? Pretty cool little organizer.
That pouch is just a pouch my freind who was dabling in sewing made for me - its a copy of the Maxpedition EDC pouch mini.
Great Review. Thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks i hope it was helpful 🙂

How are the shoulder straps against bare skin when hiking? Comfortable or is it a cheese grater?

Could this backpack be used as a BOB ?
I would say yes definitely! This would make a great BOB!
Nice review brother 👍👍. Love the backpack.
Thank you :)
How would it feel in kit? That is the determining factor of me making this purchase or not

How do you attach the hip belt ? Does it need tailor work ?
No, it doesn’t need any tailoring to be able to attach the hip belt.
Are those locking zippers?
No
Anybody tested how waterproof it is?
Not at all waterproof
@@BlackFlagSummitClub typical, cordura 500, I have the same on my mystery ranch, was a bit disappointed
