BFCS is a casual hiking/mountaineering group made up of members from the US and Canadian Pacific Northwest.
Our content will primarily focus on providing our thoughts and opinions on various gear that we use on trail as well as trail videos of some of our trips.
Our hiking videos are admittedly a bit long but are intended to give folks an idea of what to expect on these trail destinations (and hopefully inspire viewers to get on out there).
All our videos are filmed using our iPhones as we just don’t feel like being weighed down by heavy camera gear. The footage is then spliced and edited using the Videoshop mobile app and uploaded or your viewing pleasure.

FlipFuel: Awesome gadget or hyped-up flop?
มุมมอง 832ปีที่แล้ว
We’ve been watching FlipFuel for a while and they sent us one to review! We had our doubts as to how well it would work but found it to be a great tool for managing partial cans of camping fuel. It can also be used to buy the larger, cheaper cans of fuel and then transferring it into a spent, smaller can to carry with you. Make sure you use a scale to ensure you do not overfill the cans. Check ...

12:09 you’re using your paddles wrong and that rubber thing on the handle is adjustable and slides toward you so the water doesn’t drip into the boat.
What a great review! Btw just want to confirm is the capacity 24.7L or 29.3L. The width that u measured is different from the website.
Wtf is up with that hat .
I appreciate all the work you put into this video! Quick question: for taller bottles, is there a way to extend the length of the straw tube?
Are you going to release the skeg install video?
I love how your dog video-bombed you and had the time of its life rolling on its back! And thanks for the review, I think I'm going with the REI Flexlite too (when it goes on sale again).
🤘
Whats the t-shirt brand and model? Keep the good work
We’re all wearing tees, but I’m assuming you’re talking about the one im wearing in the clips where I have a Boonie hat on? If so this is the UA Tech Tee in charcoal gray
@@BlackFlagSummitClub thanks I was refering the gray one, the one you're wearing with the hat. Thanks for the intel
I am wearing the arrowhead tactical shorts totally not worth the $30 extra for shipping
Not familiar with that brand or product to be able to provide any input. 🙂
Thanks for the info. I have the All-Terrain shorts and think they are awesome. Will definitely check for these.
@@craigrobertson6082 The AT’s are a different beast all together as I am sure you are well aware. I love my raider field pant (pretty much the only pant I wear these days) but I’m not much of short wearer unless it’s when I’m getting in the water so the 72Hr definitely fits the bill for me. I only own two pairs of shorts - the 72hr being one of them and the other is my board short. I’m seriously debating picking up an Argonaut though
I know it would be crowded but would the raft take my dogs claws? My Sea Eagle will.
The floor is a bit thinner than on the Alpaka Scout but if I was a betting man, I would say it should be OK but if you’re worries about it, I would suggest maybe putting some booties on your dogs’ front paws just to minimize wear on the material.
Do they still sell the old mount? I don’t want that big old tension screw sticking out of my plate carrier for work. I would much rather the older style.
You’d have to check their site but if you have one of the older style mount you could always just swap out the MOLLE plate or even just the hardware. I like that about the tension screw- makes it easier to swap out devices / mounts from platform to platform without having to remove the part that mounts to the MOLLE
Thanks for the review. Just one bit of clarification on the inductive charging - you can inductive charge through the case. It just doesn't have the magnet capability for alignment to MagSafe specific chargers. We offer a universal benchtop charger as well as inductive charge versions of our vehicle mount and armor mount, which allow the case to securely snap in. Most of our users need that secure snap in feature due to the environments they're operating in, and a magnet doesn't quite lock it in as well. 🙂
Awesome! Thank you for providing this clarification guys!!! That is very good to know! 🙏🙂
Bought the product flow of water is difficult.
You referring to the source inline or …?? I didn’t have the same experience with my ThruLine
Can the iPhone 13 Pro Max, fit inside the Endvr case even if it’s slightly thicker? The cases for the 13 pro max (IMPACT) are just not it for me atm.
I have no experience with the pro max just the 13pro and the 15pro
How do you attach the hip belt ? Does it need tailor work ?
No, it doesn’t need any tailoring to be able to attach the hip belt.
The big question I have that no one answers in reviews... How loud is the phone audio with the case on? I see it has holes in the rubber bottom cap, so the mic and speaker aren't plugged closed, but do people have issues hearing you when on phone calls? And is the speakerphone loud enough to use with the case on? Will I still be able to hear my ringtone playing? For everyday listening, I have Bluetooth speakers and earbuds, but I'm more worried about ringtones and phone call audio with that bottom cover. Also, the bottom cover-what does it protect if the phone needs to be waterproof? I'm hoping it just keeps water out of the charging port. My new S23 is waterproof, but when water gets into the charging port, I have to wait 8-12 hours before it will let me charge again. That's what I'm hoping to avoid. The mounts are why i want this case but i also want to use it every day because I am rough on phones. I just don't want my phone to be a lemon with the case on.
At least with both the iPhone 13/15pro - I did not notice any degradation in the sound quality of either the microphone input or the speaker output. The ringer was also not impacted that I noticed.
My kids just got me one of these for father's day. Good to see confirmation that the empty cans are about 100 gms (for the 100 gm cannister.) I'm a little worried about overfill, but knowing the base wt. of the cannister helps avoid this. I would think overfill is more likely when transferring from a larger container (230g or 450g) to a smaller one (100 gm.)
How would it feel in kit? That is the determining factor of me making this purchase or not
I can try and throw it on over my Crye JPC and get back to you on that but if it was to guess, I would think that I wouldn’t be the most ideal shoulder strap design to be worn over PPE because of the width and shape of the shoulder strap design.
whats the part in the middle with the compass and gps?
It is the Juggernaut NAVboard - I covered it in this video th-cam.com/video/Zy62RcDqMr8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XBpfECHSKLlL5TL9
I would guess you could get at least some of that remaining 6g of fuel out if the bottom container were empty.
Subscribed! Detailed overview, excellent. Thank you Sir.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate your support 🙏
Excellent stuff! Thank you!
Can you use a tampered glass screen protector with this case? Like the belkin one apple sell? Thanks
Yes. I have one. Any glass screen protector that is case compatible (99% are) will work just fine. Also you won't lift it up by putting the case on and off either.
🙌🏼
Are y'all ever going to rerelease the beast hoodie, or am I SOL?
@@lrausch829if you loved the Beast v2, you’re gonna love what they have in the works…..will be posting a video on it soon. Wait one.
Super well explained and laid out, especially if there are folk trying to figure out the layering.
Thank you! Hope you found the information useful. 🙂
What is the gps/map display you are using? Can it show teammates positions too?
I have both ITAK which does all of those things but i mostly use All Trails for navigation
Where can i find those clips for the side pouch attachments? Want to add them to my heavy recon.
These Malice clips are really common place at almost any Mil-Surp stores or online. Super cheap as well.
My plate vest would not work with that!
If youre running a PC i would go with somthing designed for that not a hiking rig. Somthing scalable like a FC Slickster would be one of such products that come to mind.
How about the belt mount how to rotate on horizontal
I have no personal experinece with the Belt Clip unfortunatly.
How do you get those sliding tri-glide clips open? I just received my kit and can’t for the life of me get the darn things open to install.
did you ever figure it out? I am having the same problem.
Hello Taekoh8076. Yeah, i did figure it out. I ended up finding a piece of metal rod just small enough to go through the hole in the connector, and long enough to get both feet standing on the bits protruding from the side. With both feet on the rod, i pull on the webbing and other part of the connector and it will come out - with some force. Hopefully this will loosen up a bit over time but not so much that it will suffer. I have a bit of a love/hate with these connectors since discovering them. I had never seen them before and they are really secure, but they are almost too secure to be practical in the field.
Thank you so much, you are the savior 😂 I guess I just need more force to get it open.
Get somthing ridgid that will fit into the holes - i use a fork and just pry it back like a lever - dont worry you wont break it.
An $85+ rugged case not having some kind of mechanical lense protection is a huge miss
They are working on such a product - it may even be available ok thier site now.
I seriously don't see why they're so expensive. Not much information on the case themselves on the site but they do quote tv personalities ( like I give a sh*t). They also tell you your phone is rated IP 68 already. They should go the extra mile and say the first two things that voids your warranty is water and dust. There are other better and cheaper cases out there.
What cases do you recommend. Completely genuine question. I have a S22 ultra and haven't found one case I like. Ordered at least 30 cases in the past 2 years. Had the Pelican Voyager for Samsung Active but for the Ultra the Voyager doesn't cover the edge of the screen and only comes in clear. I am in construction so clear looks good for about 10 minutes.
It's been 2 weeks since these comments, still no response?
Ive heard good things about OtterBox if protection is your main perogative. I got the Juggernuagt for Its ability to be mounted to my chest rig with the PALs mount. There Rest is just a bonus.
Youre not wrong buy keep in mine that got the Juggernuagt specifically for Its ability to be mounted to my chest rig with the PALs mount - to make use of my drone easier, being able to flip my Phone down, use it hands free for navigation while on the move - Rest is just a bonus for me. If budget is primary deciding factor and you dont mind a “one size fits most” design - there are Phone boards like the ones made by Persec Gear that fit a large variety of phones regardless of what case you are using. If Its just a case youre after then Yeah maybe paying a premium for the Juggernugt or KAgwerks doesnt make much sense.
Appologies - ive been super busy with Other endeavors and Being on course.
Excellent video and review! So worth the full watch. I really got a lot out of your suggestions of additions to make the Rapid Raft more usable. I am looking at the Rapid Raft for our search and rescue K9 unit. We have full rafts and kayaks, but we were looking for something that could be quickly deployed for hiding our scent sources in the river or lake for set-up of a training with later deployment of the full raft with handler, dog and rower(s). The rapid raft really fits that bill, but also could be crucial in multiple search scenarios on a real mission. This review helped me see all the possibilities. Thank you!
So happy to hear that you found some value in this review! Thank you so much for all the work you guys do for your communities. God bless!
Pelican makes a lens protector for the s23 ultra that i believe fits with this case i will report back here when i get my case to confirm whether it does or not.
Any update?
I use this with my Juggernught on my 15pro - a.aliexpress.com/_mMvh7ma
@didyouknow3360 the pelican lens covers do in fact fit with the juggernaut case im happy to say
👍🏼
Been keeping my eye on these pants, what material version of these would you recommend for hiking?
For durability in all but the warmest months would go with the GC for the summer months the EC both have excellent 4-way stretch properties - the EC also dries a bit faster.
Super late to this video. 😂 You have solidified my decision to go with Kris and Tipella. Being that I am 6'5", I need a king size bed. We are gonna go with the Whipsaw Dlux hard shell. Freaking pumped too, as I got a pre-order price and only had to pay 2800 vs. 3200$.
Hey if you switch sides for the radio, the antenna will be more out of your way, its on the left side of radio so putting it on your left side will tuck it away better than kinda having it in your face. Just a thought..
Yeah Thats a fair point. Was actually considering an antena relocation cable or one of the wearable antenas from Catalina Antenas as my next purchase…
you get this for free and this is all we get for a review?
This is just the “unboxing” video meant as a little preview….i share more of my insights and impressions in this video: th-cam.com/video/udzJc1KHyPM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7DBNgW27_FYgflwi
Ha just asked this question on another one of your videos. Thanks YT algorithm for suggesting this one.
lol 👍
probably one of the best setups I've seen I find the bare medium Runner to be a hair too small and my medium SAR to be a bit too much. Did you sew the molle panel to the front? Very interested in that phone mount.
Because I almost never run my KB as a standalone I just need it to carry the item I need access to while on the move. That said had they had the medium KB at the time I got this I would have gone with that one and I think it would have been perfect! I think if HPG added an elastic expandable main pocket it would be make this perfect. The only thing I would add as an amendment to my videos on the topic is that if you run the KB loaded to its max capacity like I do it will have a tendency to cause the harness to ride up and push on your neck which is easily mitigated by Remington the harness all together and run the KB off the shoulder straps of your pack via the HPG load lifters. Much easier for donning and doffing as well. Been running it this way ever since.
As for the phone mount - I have two videos that specifically cover the Juggernaut Armor mount and how i use it
I've had my advntr case for my galaxy s24 ultra and it's 🤌🏾. Best case out there!!!
Is it compatible with Tempered Glass Screen Protectors?
@messdkilla4877 Obviously not. For $80 plus it should be. They should make their own and charge $90 just for the screenprotector. Idiots would buy. As long as they put a Mike Rowe quote in the advertising.
Another good review. I like the more streamlined design. On a separate note, is that a Carcajou Tactical Boonie hanging up behind you? Nate
Yes sir! Good eye! 👍
@@BlackFlagSummitClub I picked up one from them in March. Nice quality. Looking at some of their other stuff as well.
Good review and it has some good upgrades. Nate
TY, and yes I would have to agree
Looks like an interesting product. It seems like it would make the stream strap redundant which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Nate
I can see what you mean but I haven’t had enough mileage to provide an opinion on that yet.
I cannot find this accessory on the MR website. Where did you pick it up?
I can’t fine it either
Actually I just found it on the juggernaut website
Mystery Ranch calls it the TAK harness but Juggernaut calls it the PALs Pack platform juggernautcase.com/products/pals-pack-platform.html
Very informative, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
solid review! Thanks for showing both the gen 1 and gen 2. i'll probably go for one in tiger stripe
It’s great so long as you work within its limitations - the face fabric is quite delicate - it’s not like a woobie….think of it as a light wind shirt - like the level 4 PCU top
I just grabbed me one, website says its a 30L pack at (1780 ci) but there’s not way this is a 30l pack. Thanks for the video, I’ll be returning the bag soon :/
The retailer had it listed at 1500ci 24L which is also confusing
Right on! Yeah the discrepancies are worrisome - I called them and pointed this out to them but I guess it’s still not corrected?
@@BlackFlagSummitClub I’ve emailed them 2 days ago but still not reply (weekend), I’m curious as to how they will respond. I was initially assuming I bought an older version of the pack but I was wrong
@@HenryHHHz14 yeah, when I called the EBS customer service (the number is in my video) I was getting some different answers as well. But I can confirm that it is indeed a 1500c/I pack and the F5 SB and the SB is the same pack with the exception of the MOLLE and Loop panel.
@@BlackFlagSummitClub if you’re curious, this is the response it got … “Actually, there was nothing changed to the pack. Our initial measuring of the pack was just off, and we went through a number of our EDC and Mission packs and re-measured the volumes to be a more accurate depiction.”
Does it come with a glass protector?
It does not
