    Great review. I really like how your explaining an item then you cut to a seperate shot with a close up. That really helped show the feature while your still explaining. I will definitely be checking out the rest of your reviews. Also nice touch on the "items like this" to avoid censorship.

    Okay, I finished the video. Great review man. Your final thoughts really opened my eyes to some of the downsides of this pack, and I appreciate that you actually used it enough to know all the little things that would bother someone over time and this isn't just an unboxing video that shows me exactly what the sales page for the pack already does. I'll be checking out some of your other vids and hope to see more from you in the future.

      Glad you enjoyed the review! I don't do a ton of reviews, and my videos tend to be pretty wide-ranging topics of just whatever projects and things I have have going on. But I try to make honest reviews when I do review something. I have a Vertx Gamut Overland pack that I have had for quite a while, and I will do a review on that, and I just got an Eberlestock H31 Bandit, so I will be using that for a couple months before I do a review.

    Thanks for the Nerf gun test, I can't believe how hard it was to find that. I know I'm not the only one that EDCs my Nerf gun. And especially thank you for measuring it. I was getting ready to Google that flavor of Nerf to compare it to mine.

    For top pocket usability, the pack was made to carry a pistol type AR or an SBR so that’s why it has mag pouches. As far as the no external attachment. They made these for the ‘greyman’ look and they left those off on purpose. I carry my Kriss Vector with pistol brace in this bag with me everyday when I’m not at work. If I want a bag to carry water, clothes, etc as you stated I use my Eberlestock Bandit or Mystery Ranch Skyline for that. Great review!

      It all comes down to what is in your EDC, I suppose. I get the reasons this pack is designed the way it is, but it just doesn't fit my EDC needs/wants. I just got a Bandit, and I am going to use that out for a while before I review it, and I have a Vertx Gamut Overland that I have had for a while that I need to review. I haven't gotten into any Mystery Ranch packs yet, but eventually will, I really like the look of the Skyline and the three way zip on the Urban Assault. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the review!

      @@Factor85Labs I like the bandit a lot for the size it is. MR has a lot of great bags IMO. I love my skyline too, I use hunting because it’s just the right size and easy to get in and out of with the ‘rip zip’

    I have this pack. It works great as an aircrew bag and as an office backpack. Carries all the survival gear I need and nothing I don’t in case the airplane forgets to create lift. Also carries laptops just fine. Don’t need to transport my nerf projectile launcher, of any size, in the pack nor anywhere else in this pack. I stagger my zippers; internal MOLLE works fine for US Army issued multi-tools; DAKA pouches work wonders for bag organization/admin pouch logic. Good review and overview of pros and cons. I appreciate your review.

    Rally liked your review I just ordered the pack because I liked the size. I'm a LEO so the need blaster edc you speak of is actually why I need it. Looking forward to a bag I can put in the shop on duty, carry it to the gym when I get off, go for a day hike then take the kids to a football game. Sounds like a made the right choice. I did order the rain cover, 2-2 liter pouches and the waistbelt with it

    Good review! as far as molle goes, you need to loop it differently, then it will hold better as well. Personally for an urban bag i dont like the zipper placements on the back. Its very easy for strangers to start opening those zippers and taking ur stuff out.

    Great review! Have you had the chance to try any mystery ranch backpacks with their adjustable harness? If so, how do they compare to this? I’m considering grabbing this pack to carry a laptop, tablet, few textbooks, raincoats, tech pouch and a sweater (no ccw). Also what are you thoughts on using the Eberlestock Hispeed as an EDC pack (not carrying anything)

      I actually sold the Switchblade and bought the Eberlestock Bandit, and I have been using that quite a bit for hiking/day trips. I really like that pack, and it is holding up really well. I have a review of that one up too. For more EDC purposes, I use a Vertx Gamut pack. I really like it, but I haven't done a review on it because Vertx has new models of the pack out, so the model I have would be old news.

    With a couple of the issues you had with the pack was you got what they call their gray man series. It was made in this color and not a bunch of military Molle on it for the purpose of keeping it gray man. So that’s why there is none down the main face of the pack. Same with the compression straps. You can get this exact pack in the earth colored ones and they are made with the Molle down the face. The hip belts are jot part of this pack for the purpose that most every day Cary guys just don’t want the belt on there. But you point with the other cons I would have to agree with.

    • @Factor85Labs
      @Factor85Labs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My issue was more with the the molle being the thin and oddly spaced "lightweight" molle. Even the regular F5 packs have the same thin molle on the outside. Just wasn't a fan of that. I do wish this pack had compression straps, and the hook up kit from Eberlestock is only available in green or dry earth, so that defeats the "gray man" look. Same with that hip belt. I had emailed Eberlestock back when I did the review, and they said they are not planning on making hip belts, the hook up straps, rain covers, or any other accessories in any colors than currently available at this time. That is fine, but I hope if these "gray man" style packs continue to be popular, they will offer some other options.

    Man you put together an awesome video. DO you know what size Nalgene bottle the sides will hold? You've given me a lot to think about on this bag. The cons you pointed out were all the same things I would find as a con. So i need to really consider the bag more. Ive been looking for an EDC bag that has a CCW pocket for awhile and thought it might be this but I may need to keep looking. I want the CCW pocket to carry my backup while on stakeout so the ease of access made this attractive but your points of view give me pause. Anyway thanks for the well put together video.

    • @Factor85Labs
      @Factor85Labs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sides will hold a 20 or 24 oz bottle just fine. You might be able to get a 32oz Nalgene in the pockets, but I didn't try any bottles that size.

    I appreciate the review but your cons didn’t really seem to be cons. You have the gray man version which isn’t supposed to have all the MOLLE webbing on the outside. If you had gotten a different version it would have all that. You are one of the few people that reviewed this version, which is the one I want, so thanks.

    I'm still baffled by the design choice of the top pocket. They made that specifically with full sized magazines in mind... on a bag designed for a hand held nerf blaster. And they went out of their way to make that pouch pretty much unusable for anything but that.

    This pack is my favorite of the lot I own. Its clean design and comfort are unmatched. All your cons are kinda funny when you dive into them. You complain about webbing you use wrong, you got a grey man pack then complain it’s too grey man, the top section is huge and simple to navigate but you obviously over stuffed it. People say good review but they are being misled.
