    Best review of either one of these I have seen. Thank you!

    One thing to note about Eberlestock packs as well are their purposefully thin shoulder straps. They are designed to be comfortable when shouldering a rifle, much like Savotta packs. I've seen a lot of EDC and not shooting oriented people criticize it without understanding why.

    Thanks for the solid review of both packs. Much appreciated… ps - as a gun AND wet wipes Dad … don’t let the “zipper experts” and “voice tone” specialists get to you. Keep up the good work!

    very very interesting, as a switchblade owner I still prefer my F5 over the gamut( but i need to purchase one to see), I think it is the most comfortable backpack out there, it rides high ( which I love) and is one of the few backpacks I have no problem running with I love the admin section and I put my TI-89 calculator in there, I use my backpack for school, and I stuff it full with clothes/jacket, labtop, food and water books and lab equipment since I am there all day and I am always so greatful to have my switchblad as a backpack

      I prefer anything Eberlestock over the Gamut because of the clips Vertx decided to use on the shoulder straps. Maybe it's just my body but the clips dug into my sides when wearing the bag.

    Is that the Bellroy camera sling? If so, how do you find the mechanism that secures the strap? Have seen a couple reports of those failing.

    • @DesmondCheng
      @DesmondCheng  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes its the 6L bellroy sling! NOT the camera one. I have never had the mechanism fail on me yet

    I have been using the switchblade as a get home bag for a year without complains. Also do you know that there is a Premier Body Armor for Eberlestock Switchblade 9.5"x16.75" Level IIIA insert?

    Love the review! Always the best. I’m currently deciding between the Eberlestock F5 (in this vid), the Osprey Parsec and Mystrey Ranch Catalyst. What do you think would be the best for an everyday pack?

    • @DesmondCheng
      @DesmondCheng  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven't used the Mystery Ranch so I cant give you my opinion on that one. But between the Parsec and the Eberlestock, my vote would be Parsec only because it can stand on its own and it has that air mesh back panel which makes it very comfy. But that's just me!
      But the two that I toggle between the most right now is the Osprey Tropos (when I want to carry a bit more), and the Vertx Ready Pack 2.0

    couldnt help to notice the tone of voice change going from the switchblade review in contrast to the gamut review.

    The problem is the gamut requires at least $80 more in accessories to get the same organization as the switchblade

    Since everyone has a diferentlength torso every stock wins also don't like the side pockets on the vertex any pocket that small should not have extra pockets inside of them

    Looks, to me, like you got one pack mistakenly, not using it for the right reasons, and then dumping on it. The Eberlestock CAN be used without a firearm, but it is a tactical design. The Gamut is designed to fit more roles outside of the tactical sphere.

    • @DesmondCheng

      sorry didnt mean to dump on it! lately ive been using it more and more =)

    I like both brands a lot. Vertx probably does the civilian/tactical hybrid stuff better than most and Eberlestocks are built like tanks.

    Gamut v2 definitely superior to V3 in my opinion, if simply for the fact they removed the pleat on the outside, barely fit anything of bulk on the outer pals webbing.

    wait let me get this straight eberlestock uses sub par fabric and zippers lmao. Eberlestock us an approved pack for military the fabrics are bulletproof not to mention both packs use ykk zippers so the same zippers. Honestly I realized you haven't spent much time under a pack when you stated that the harness adjustment isn't needed on a pack. And if you have I'm confused because literally the very first thing you learn when carry a pack is to fit the pack to your body so it can be more comfortable. The zipper thing just kills me though as I am listening to the video while typing this. They are the same zipper both packs use ykk which is the standard by which other zippers are measured and are self healing and lubricating and get better with use

    You’re a “dad of two kids” and you DON’T carry anything to protect your family? I wouldn’t be too proud of that if I were you. Just my worthless opinion.
    I almost said (I guess I am now), in remarking about a later section of your video when detailing the hidden weapon area, “I don’t like the way you say, ‘Gun’” and I meant it to be heard like Clint Eastwood’s character in Heartbreak Ridge where he says, “I don’t like the way you say ‘Marine’”. I never realized until now that there is a discernible tone in one’s voice that doesn’t appreciate or understand guns from those who do.
