Alex noooo!!!! I’ve done the same. But you have to speak up! Or call the next day and rehearse what you want to say ahead of time to help with the nerves. I hate confrontation too, but you’re just doing yourself and the stylist a disservice by not being honest!
Sam Vay I know I’ve finally found someone who does my hair the way I like it!!! Just a lot of trial and error over the years before I found the right stylist for me. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
I had the same it looks good initially until I really looked and put the hair up. I hate it and I wish I would have said something. I sent her pictures of what I wanted ahead of time and still it looks terrible 😢 also the whole appointment she talked only about her kids and her husband . so I found someone else that specializes in blonde.
SAME I just got back and cried for a losing 30 min. I asked for curtain bangs and layers and to keep my long hair that I LOVED... While she was coming my hair she keeped saying it's to long and not good the didn't do a single thing I asked her to. She cut it REALLY short and it looks HORRIBLE and the layers aren't even layers. IDK HOW TO FIX IT. If anyone knows how to make hair grow alot in a month please tell me. I don't wanna go to school like this
In my experience when I've mentioned that I'm not happy the stylist usually takes offence or tries to make out that it looks great, this is why I won't trust anyone to do my hair anymore, I've had so many bad experiences. At least of I do it myself there's only me to blame.
Totally. They seem to think just because we don't know how to cut or color that we don't know what looks good or is done right. They go straight to gaslight mode. Recently I went back to say my colours was very top deck and needed to be broken up more... she said she would fix it but prefaced it with...." I personally wouldn't do this... but will do it so you're happy.. ok.. so don't freak out if kt doesn't look good" And guess what: it looked way better vs disconnected pieces. Just so pathetic and immature. It's my hair and my money. You're not an artist. Get over yourself. 😂
This just happened to me again. She didn’t use the right level tone so tue toner basically didn’t work on my brunette hair. I sent a message and she won’t take any responsibility
My biggest pet peeve is when you find a stylist, you start going to them regularly getting the same services and you can tell from that initial appointment to however many services, even sometimes years later now they think they have you sold, so they slowly start slacking in their work, they don’t take as much time to fine tune the details, or they double book, or take shortcuts in general really. I can see this from both sides and it still irritates me just the same.
BlackThornRose127 I COMPLETELY agree!! I’m guilty of falling into that rut myself, but it’s so important to catch ourselves and remember to treat every appointment like it’s the client’s first one.
Sam Vay Wow, that’s actually enlightening the way you said it, as a creative rut, because that’s actually understandable. But when it comes across as a lack of caring and/or time, I think that’s when it creates an uneasy feeling for the client and a want for them to go to someone new.
Yes! I was always on time for appointments and one time I was told stylist “was in the back eating lunch” which I understand but he made me wait 15 minutes before coming out to me. How about if I was late? It’s disrespectful when you make an appointment and blatantly disregard your time as a client. He was way too comfortable with me. Then he processed to ask me daughter how much to cut on her long her and chopped it short before she could answer. She came home crying. Enough, I found a new stylist.
Sam Vay THIS, when I found my last stylist the first service was the best. Enough to convince me to keep coming back but each time after that it got worse and worse. I would leave a frizzy mess and was charged a different amount each time for some reason
The last time I got my hair done I didn’t quite like the color after she did the toner, I only said anything because Ive been going to her for a while now and I asked for the same thing last time and it was exactly what I wanted, it was painfully awkward for me but I told her it didn’t look quite as good as last time so she took me back over to the sink and happily applied another toner, lowkey was so proud of myself for speaking up
I’ve had my hair re-done twice now. I’ve had to pay about $600 total now and I’m still not happy with the results. I’ve asked for a balayage and it doesn’t look close to a balayage it looks like a bunch of highlights.
I just spent $300 on a balayage, and all she did was tone my grown out blonde hair. I sat in the chair for 30 minutes, asking her to fix my hair, and she refused. I am at the point where I'll do it myself and have it look better. This is my third time a hairdresser robbed me. 😫
I asked but she had already cut it and she got really bratty about it like " well what do you want me to do about it you asked for it at your chin so i did it at your ears"
I totally agree.. I bring in a photo every time and never get what I ask for. I do a better job on my own. Hairdressers need to take responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming the client
I had a hairdresser she was really sweet but she never seemed to give me what i want or undersatnd what it is that i wanted i felt bad one time for going back and asking her to fix it but i payed alot of money and i think its fair thankyou for explaining thay even though you yourswlf are a hairdresser love your channel 💞
We need to start protecting one another from bad hairstylists. I dislike giving bad reviews and don't do it often. We need to post a bad review every time a stylist cuts off four inches instead of one inch. We also need to start walking out without paying. If I order fish and steak comes to my table, the restaurant replaces the steak with fish and removes the charge for the steak from the total bill. The beauty industry is the only industry that thinks it is okay to listen to the customer, repeat it back, nod along, then do what ever the fark they want to the customer. Stylists think all they have to do is say "It frames your face. It looks great!" and that makes a profound act of disrespect okay. Well, it doesn't. If it happens to me again, I'm walking out without paying and posting a review to warn others. If enough of us do it, maybe the industry will get the message: Stop treating paying customers with hateful disrespect.
I, also will not give the salon a bad review. But when I started coloring/conditioning it myself, everyone noticed and really liked it. The difference speaks without me saying a word.
I JUST got my hair done with a new stylist. Showed a picture. Honestly would have liked my blonde to be a little brighter, but overall looked great. She never showed me the back of my hair in the chair and I had no reason to question it cause the front looked great. I paid and tipped and she offered to take a picture as i walked out to my car... and ....it was HORRIBLE from the back. She colored my face framing hair up to about an inch away from my roots. And then the WHOLE rest of the back of my head wasn't colored at all. It looked like I dipped my hair in a bleach bath and just stopped at the nape of my neck. I am all about a miscommunication problem or a small mistake and giving someone the opportunity to correct it. But this was just so obviously not even a proper service...I just have zero trust. Left a message with the salon and want it corrected without spending another $150, but I don't trust that stylist to touch it again.
This just happened to me however it’s BLOTCHY everywhere behind the front of my head. I got it colored red and it’s just SO bad and SO damaged I don’t know what to do. I cried for a good 3 hours today.
As a hairstylist, I completely agree with this! I always try to make sure my clients know that there is no reason they should feel uncomfortable confronting me. If you're not happy with your hair I can't fix it if I don't know!
@@DidasRoomThey are supposed to fix it right away. You already paid for the service. If you wait too long then they will charge you again for hair growth and more color. They should find a way to fit you in to the schedule and make things right. Professional hair stylist will do this. Disgruntled hair stylist will make you wait.
All these comments are so valid!! Like I have had all these experiences. Ask for something get something else, go back to fix it , it gets worse. Go somewhere else they make me cry. All I want is for my hair to be pretty 😂😂
I’m a licensed cosmetologist and I agree 💯 on what you are saying. There is no hard feelings when someone tells me something that they don’t like about the hair color or cut . I like when they speak up because I learn from it . No one is perfect! We learn from our mistakes . I always tell my clients to not be shy if they don’t like something.Communicating with your hairstylist is the key !!!!!!
I tried to talk to my stylist, but she argues with me or says she knows what she's doing. I went to a color expert who worked for Loreal for 20 years and Rusk and is starting her own business. The color expert confirmed everything that I was unhappy with. I went back to my stylist for a blowout and she was upset and did a horrible blowout in 38 min for my long hair. I gave her the last chance and will be paying my new stylist much more GLADLY, because she EARNED it.
I just had a hairstylist mess up my hair a week ago. I have level 7 blonde hair with 4 inch of grown out highlights. I asked for my natural root to be brought down and face framing highlights....anyways she gave me brown hair with grey strips and almost black “face framing highlights”. The stylist wasn’t contacting me back. So I went to the owner and she accused me of editing the photos I sent her of my hair....anyways she finally “fixed” it and my blonde hair is back...fried unfortunately. I spent 6 months going heat free on my hair and now I’m starting over to get it healthy!
I'm in the exact same boat at this very moment. I'm sorry they fried your hair in the process of correcting their mistakes. I showed a picture to my stylist - WITH professional colorist directions of how to achieve the blond highlights with dimension that I wanted. I've already gone back once to the same stylist for a correction (trying to get my natural level 8 to the level 10 ash blond with dimension that I paid over $400 for!). Came away with chunks of golden brown added to the all-over level 8 she gave me after the first visit. Now I'm scheduled for a THIRD visit at which time I'll supposedly get what I paid for, but they're also expecting me to pay for it. So pissed. SO frustrated. So depressed about walking around with this horrid, ugly hair color for the last 6 weeks. It was really hard to speak up and calmly tell her it wasn't what I asked for in the picture. She has never apologized, even though she has stated it does not look like the picture and she's done nothing but try to make me feel guilty and stupid. Oh, and she's a "Platinum Designer". :(
A lot if these stylists fail to realize all what we so to grow out, correct damage etc so we can get a good cut and then they destroy our hair. It's awful. It cuts my self esteem down to a 0 when I get a bad cut.
I went to the BEST salon in my area. I did my research, and I went to the one that was voted as a “luxe” salon. I have thin, fine hair that can go in a pony on one of those kiddie rubber bands (that thin). It was virgin hair. I asked for a neutral blonde and came out looking like a bumblebee. Black and yellow stripped. I paid $380 + tip. Next day I called her to fix it. There I am, 3 days later… happy and concerned at same time. I explained my concerns and dislikes. I left with lighter hair; just this time it was orange. Also, she charged me another $270. WTH?!!! I hate my hair now. It’s so sensitive and a horrible color. I can’t believe it. How hard it is to lighten hair like mine??!! I’ve had it before in one session because it was virgin hair. No previous process. Waited 18 months, after my daughter was born, so I had good regrow that. I’m super sad, set back almost $650 dlls, and with hair that I hate.
Except when you go back and they make it worse. Now I have black roots on brown hair!!!! I had to go to someone else a few days later to have them kinda fix it. Now my hair is all kinds of crazy looking!
I just came home from the salon. I asked for low lights, and explained to her the struggle I went through in the past to get red, warm tones out of my hair from dying it at home, and that I wanted a natural brown, with absolutely no warmth. Well, she did a reverse balayage, and it came out warm, and she even said when she was rinsing my hair, "Oh wow! Your hair does pull warm very easily!" I am a shy person, but I paid so much money for this, and I feel absolutely gutted right now. I'm so afraid to say anything.
I have had the same hairstylist since I was 13 and I’m 25 now. She’s like a second mom to me, and is there for me through all of lives challenges. It’s so amazing when you can have a strong bond and trust with your hairstylist.
Ma’am, I just need to vent. I’m so depressed rn because of my hair: I have some thick frizzy hair that I straighten everything. single. day. I know that it’s unhealthy, but I’m so insecure about my hair because it’s medium length, and when it’s natural, it becomes shorter and it’s not cute on me. I’ve always been made fun of for my hair because literally everyone around me has straight long hair. If my hair were longer, I would go natural. But everytime I go to the hair salon, they have to cut off a lot because it’s so damaged. I hate having my hair medium length AND thick/curly. I’ve tried explaining to my stylist and asking for help but she always tells me stuff like “I would kill for hair like this!” or “Its not that hard to manage.” Sorry for the paragraph, I’m just really down right now about my hair and I feel lost on what to do about it. Thank you for the video❤️
maybe you could try and trim it yourself. if you would cut of a cm every month, it’ll still get rid of the damaged ends over time, but it won’t go from medium to short in 30 minutes
I once went to get a chocolate balayage, showed the stylist pictures of what I wanted more less, and when it came time to tone my hair she told me, we only have these 3 toners, so pick the one you want. I felt kind of betrayed that initially when I told her what I wanted she didn’t let me know right there and then, “oh we probably won’t be able to give you that color, but this is what we have.” She literally had a fire engine red, a dark dark brown, a blondeish brown, and an orangy brown. I didn’t like any of those but went with the blondish brown because my hair was already bleached. I guess she could tell I wasn’t entirely happy so she told me I could always go back and try the orangy brown. I went back two hours later, she applied the toner, i left and didn’t like it, so I went to Sallys and got the chocolate brown I had initially asked for. I wasn’t super upset because i liked how she did the balyage, but i hated that I had to go and spend extra money to get the color I wanted after paying almost 300 bucks.
Leslie Dae sounds like she was pretty inexperienced when it comes to color theory... I could never imagine telling a client to “pick” their toner!!! Lol! You also don’t just pick one from the swatches. You formulate and mix multiple colors based on the color of the hair you need to tone and the end result you want 🤦♀️ At least you were able to get what you wanted in the end, even if you had to do it yourself.
The hair stylist that ruined my hair had asked me based of some hair swatches, how light i wanted to go. I had no idea how it would look on my hair and it turned platinum blonde after first turning orange
I sometimes feel like what I see and what the stylist sees are two completely different things. Which just happened to me. I wanted to say, “You actually think this looks good? Seriously?” I also think there is a problem with getting my point across - I don’t know all the proper terms so I just try to explain it the best I can. But it must be bad because “I really don’t like the layers because it looks too heavy at my ears and like I have two completely hair styles. So if you could bottom up so it is closer in length to the layers and blend them better, think I could work with it.” She proceeded to cut more off of the super short layers making the difference in lengths even more obvious. Am I really that out of touch that this is considered a good look?
That’s exactly what I did! She looked so happy at her work & I couldn’t bring myself to crush her spirit 😔So, I ended up going somewhere else & it was the SAME PRICE & this girl did more work as far as services, product & time. The 1st stylist charged me a full foil & only did half & threw some in the back (so it would look full when I put it up.) Idk, maybe she was just rusty, it was right after Covid 🤷🏼♀️ I even told her ahead of time. I’m on the hunt for a new stylist that I want to stay with! I explained in detail because I researched & obsessed over how to word it all to her in “salon term’s.” I booked 3 hours & said I may need more because my hair was thick & long. There was nothing I didn’t cover. The new hairstylist seemed more upset than I was about it. I’m not going to lose my shit on someone who meant well & was a sweetheart. Eh, I just don’t have it in me; unless maybe the stylist is just rude & could give an alcoholic shit about my hair, time & money. That would be different. K, I rambled through your whole video about my experience & now need to rewatch (Incase this ever happens again with say my daughter.) I absolutely LOVE my new stylist that came as a result of the one who drove me to hunt a new one down!! Going for my 1st Keratin treatment next week & I’m soooo excited, but nervous. Been watching your video’s on those too! My hair feels a little damaged from the bleach & I’m really really hoping this helps 🙏🏼 If you made it this damn long & are still reading; do you have a suggestion as to WHAT Keratin treatment would be prefect for me? I’m going to call them today to see what kind they do because I know she said they don’t have formaldehyde in theirs & you can like wash it right away. That doesn’t sound right from what I’ve read tho so far....
Well Sam if it was easy as you say everyone would go back to the same hairdresser to have it fix. However, based on my personal experiences and for others. Most hairdresser instead of accepting the fault to fix it they charge us more with an extra use of shampoo and conditioner by rescheduling us for a second appointment! Then, some also become mad and continue to worsen the situation by making a worse haircut. That is why we are afraid of going back and would rather try another hair salon.
And I can't trust the person again after they fucked my hair up. Just came from a stylist showed her pictures multiple pictures and still she didn't cut it that way.
@@michaelamanus189 I totally get you! Sometimes hairdressers have the tendency to impose confidence THAT they can cut hair but end up using you as a little experimentation just to build clientele. But real clientele will always come back when you give them genuine integrity. They try to use people like the way mechanics use people's cars. Once they come in as outdated models they do not have the genuine interest to invest the money is worth to repair but instead, they create shortcuts you won't see to repair a car!
@@jennifervallecillo2133 exactly. Jennifer. And it's upsetting. Because finding a hairdresser to especially cut your hair takes real guts and the amount of trust you put in that person, just like you said they act like they can cut but end up using us as experiment's. And for me, I want to walk a path with my stylist and for me to hop from one so called stylist to another ain't doing it for me. It's actually sad. Now I have to go out next week to another stylist hoping they are skilled enough to fix this bad cut and again hoping my trusts won't be shattered. And of all thing's she rushed to finish my hair.
I was going to this one hair stylist and the first time I went to her she corrected some bad highlights I had gotten and did a the most beautiful balayage. She did the painting technique and used plastic wrap which I think looks best. Every time I went back she did a different technique and starting teasing and using foils. Then she started doing these huge highlights around my face. One of the times she didn’t even touch the back and did like 20 highlights all around my face, I told her I didn’t like it and she just threw on a darker toner. I felt like she was just experimenting on my hair and I quit going to go her
Ashley WO yeah it definitely sounds like she was trying different techniques, which some clients might like and find it exciting to do something new each time, but she should ask and not assume!
I had gotten my hair done and prepared so far ahead for what I wanted, since I wanted to go from dark brown to white. My hair was all healthy virgin hair and I watched a million videos on how it’s done to know what to expect. It’s not that I was unhappy with the results, but the way they did it. The stylist hadn’t actually put bleach on all of my hair, they combed lightener through my hair after applying it an inch off the roots then did my roots, and they didn’t do foils, like I had scheduled and paid for, until the end where they put all of a section sloppily between 2 foils and my head hurt so bad after from the combing. I had 4 foils in my hair that were falling out most of the time I sat there. Then after they rinsed it out they said that my hair wasn’t light enough at the ends (well yea of course it wasn’t since there was like barely any lightener there), so she bleached my lengths and ends again. I did walk out with white hair, but my hair was SO SO SO damaged, more than how damaged it should have been if it was all done properly, from all the brushing and double process on my lengths plus she straightened my hair when I just wanted it diffused because I have naturally wavy hair. I just plain went to a different stylist after that experience I didn’t even know what to go back and tell them. I had gotten what I wanted (except a full head of foils, that is) but the process was terrible, so what could I have even said, ya know? I’m also extremely shy and introverted and I felt so bad going back or saying something in the middle especially because this same stylist had done a color correction on my hair a few years ago and did an amazing job and I loved it, so I was pretty disappointed.
I disagree with the premise that I should have the person that screwed my hair up to touch it again. I’m asking for a refund and going somewhere else, period
I had highlights done yesterday and I'm not loving it. My hair was dyed way lighter than I expected and I didn't know how to say that I wasn't comfortable with it. I miss my dark natural hair and I don't know whether I need the highlights to be dyed my natural hair color or just hope it fades and washes out within this month to fix it. I hope someone can help me out. Thank you for the tips, liked watching this video! 💞
i got my hair done and i wanted a silvery light grey colour and thought it was gonna look great. it turned out a weird old grey/green colour. i cant stop crying and i dont know how to tell my mum i hate it😭
I was going blonde with highlights and as soon as she took the towel off my head after washing it and sat back in my chair I had purple streaks in my hair on the top . I totally loved the shade but I immediately asked why is there purple and she said from toner would wash out . Some washes at home will remove it ....... it never did . $189 it cost to walk out with purple blonde streaks 🙁 Her boss was there and I should have said something. So much for putting your trust to your hairdresser . She didn’t even care or seem guilty when I asked her why . I was heartbroken because I loved that blonde shade . Now my hair is horrible trying to get back to that shade . I don’t want it happening again. Never before have I ever hated my hair like now . 😊 it’s a great video thank you for posting it . I’ve had thoughts of shaving it off and starting again..
My stylist did the same thing she used violet in her toner , I’m sue her , I don’t play about my crown you don’t put violet on the roots , she did that because I had long hair jealousy
I went to the same hairdresser for over 15 years. I asked for ash tone colour. He put in natural tone. Since we were tryng to lighten the hair the result, was an orangey mess. Someone you pay hhndreds of dollars per session should do what you ask. No second chances. Besides, as a hairdresser he should have known better.
I recently got really chunky highlights by blo dry bar in Oxford ms. I was going for a full blonde, and they gave me early 2000s highlights and my cut was lopsided. I approached the situation calm and collected, and though the job was clearly botched, they blamed me for not liking it. I spoke with multiple people, and they told me that they would not fix or refund it. I got my mom to call, and she bitched out on them; and it fixed my whole problem. Sometimes being rude is the only option you have. Though I hate even confronting people, it is absolutely necessary in order to not be walked all over
Omg!!!! The reason i end up here is looking to give me ideas what is Olaplex treatment. So we would know what to expect what to ask what to know when we goto our appointment (haircut/color/Olaplex)... this video BIG help!!! What to say and don’t be hesitant to say something u don’t like. Thank u so much
I asked for golden brown baliage and ended up with copper with blonde highlights... I am totally clueless as to how to ask for this to be rectified. It's super chunky highlights too which I asked them not to do. When I questioned why it was still orange she said it was to pull the warm through... I really hate it and have been so upset since. How would I go about getting it resolved. They made out it was lovely and even had the other girls in the studio say the same...
I just recently went to a stylist I’d never been to before, we had communicated prior I sent her pictures of my hair now as well as color and cut I wanted prior to my appointment she said no problem. When it was all said and done at the time it seemed fine but when I went home to further evaluate and play with it a little under my lights at home it definitely wasn’t the platinum color I asked for and the Bob wasn’t at all a-line/ inverted she said if she had any questions or any concerns to call her after my appointment was done so that I did center the picture and the cut again next to what she had done and she said that I could come in and she would redo it after spending almost $200 when I go in on my next appointment to get it re-done I wasn’t sure whether or not she was gonna make me pay for it since it was her fault Because I don’t know how much clearer I could’ve been with communicating since she had the pictures of what I asked for but is it something that I should be charged again for or what is the proper etiquette I don’t think I should have to pay anything.
I need to vent… I have never felt happy leaving the salon. Never. And somehow I just keep coming back, keep trying, going to different places, doing research. A few days ago I went to a new salon, lots of people love it and there’s so many good comments on instagram and my friend even went there. I went in with grown out balayage, that was pretty brassy. Think very light, pale orange and dark roots. I told them I want to bring the balayage up, keep my roots so it can just grow and tone the hair a cool beige blonde. What they did? They did highlights and low lights, the highlights are basically white and grey and the lowlights are black. My hair from before, the orange parts were toned and they are a pretty cool shade. The tips of my hair are just as dark as my roots now. I want the dark to light fade, always! I wanted my roots my natural color and for the ends to be light and thin balayage highlights through my hair. I also now have white strands in my face framing front pieces, just like the girl in this video. I don’t feel comfortable at all with my new hair and I am thinking of just dying it at home but I’m scared it will turn my hair a really bad shade… I don’t want to waste more money or hate my hair again. I just wish I never went, I should have toned it at home… what do I do😭
I went to one of the best salons in my town for about a year and a half. Hair never looked good. I finally did research and started coloring/cutting/conditioning myself. Now it always looks good and I get many compliments. I had fine, frizzy hair. I brought this up every time I was in the salon... I now use thickening lotion and OUAI leave-in conditioner. Made my hair look like hair again. Why is that so hard for a salon to understand? I don't think they keep up with the latest products. The stylist knew nothing about hair growth supplements, which also help me. Also, I like hair to look natural so I color in layers with 3 shades to give it depth. Salon would only use 2 and it looked ridiculous. WTF? It's not even that hard. Last, the shape of the cut must be flattering to your face shape. Don't add width at the widest part of the face. I brought this up many times. A hair stylist needs to understand shape and color. Thanks for letting me vent.
Whenever I disagreed with my previous stylist she would do this head shake reaction thing in bewilderment and anger and would just try to convince me that her opinion is better. Then she wouldn’t talk to me until it was time to go. She would forget appointments altogether and also appointment times. This, along with never remembering where my part is, and never gave me what I asked for or what I showed in pictures. She would look at a picture I brought for two seconds and just do whatever she wanted in her way of doing things. I’m done!
i got my hair cut right before school started, i asked for a "wolf cut" all over. I showed what i wanted it to look like on the front and i showed pictures of what i wanted the back to look like. i understood that it would be hard to make it look exactly like the picture and i just wanted something similar to the picture anyway. Well i leave the salon and my hair was awful. the picture i showed had like three or four different layers in it. my hair didnt even look similar to that picture. one side of my face framing hair was real thick and choppy, the other side was thin and barely noticable that it was shorter than the rest. the back only has two layers and it is extremly noticable that it is very slanted. one side of my hair had like three layers that didnt blend in with the rest of my hair at all, THEN THE OTHER SIDE HAD NO LAYERS. Like this was a very very bad hair cut, i was actually excited to get this one too. also the face framing hair is shorter than i wanted, it keeps getting in my eyes because its too short to tuck behind my ears. like i said i got this a few days before school started so I'm kinda embarrassed to have this haircut. I dont know if i should go back to the place that cut it to see if they will redo it because when i walked out it looked okay and I wasn't too mad until I started really looking at it.
I am sorry it’s not about being scared to ask!!!! It is about not trusting that individual to “fix” it. If it’s a small easy to fix mistake then fine no problem. However, when it is a blatant case of complete incompetence then how can you possibly allow them to continue to destroy your hair. No thanks!
I like my stylist as a person. This makes it hard. I found out they lied to me about how much color experience they had. I literally got the exact color I told them I didn’t want. I showed them pictures with an x through tones I didn’t want and that’s what I got. They’ve offered to fix it for free, but at this point I’m not sure I can trust them to “fix” it.
I asked for silver ends and not to the root, I ended up with orange to the root. I grew my fringe out for 2 years and she put a curtain fringe in, I never went back.
It would have been helpful if my stylist had warned me about the maintenance required for cute haircuts. I opted for the butterfly haircut, assuming it would look great without much styling, but it turned out to be a mistake. Despite my stylist's assurance that it was easy to style, I ended up hating it after a few days. I have tried watching TH-cam tutorials, but they haven't been of much help. Unfortunately, my family doesn't have the time to teach me either.
I think this (in some parts) links to the beauty industry (treatments). I have been in the same job for 5.5 years, but I was really young when I got this job lol. More often than not, people have a specific “ style “ or preference when they have they’re eyebrows or something done. The therapist does explain her opinion respectfully, and with eyebrow waxing she may do it initially the way the customer would like, and then give them the option to go thinner or darker with the dye for a tint. The amount of times where I’ve been witness or I’ve heard horror stories as things such as allergies or something that could have been prevented!
My stylist is really nice. He did highlights - SUPER close to my roots instead of balayage. The highlights are thick and not at all what I like or what looks good on me. I showed him my last balayage job for reference..... I'm sad. I hope he can fix it. I feel like im hideous right now.
What about when you go in and ask for an inch off and clarify what you think an inch is and they take off 7-8 inches 🙃. I never know what to say because I think it’s pretty obvious that they took off too much and there’s nothing they can do to change it.
Angela Gibson I hate that! If all you want is an inch off, the safest thing to do is say you want “a dusting” so they’ll just take off a tiny bit/ the dead ends that need to come off.
This happened to me once! It was such a nightmare ~ it took me several years to grow my hair out just to have it all cut off after asking for one inch to be cut~ it is very hard to trust ~
I ve been in Yeats for 3 days. I went in with hair to my butt, touching my waist. I showed her photos of a tapered v-cut...girls had long hair. She butchered me. Chopped all my hair off...it's to my shoulders in a choppy uneven blunt cut . I'm devastated . It's hideous. She won't refund me . And the owner took her side. They didn't care she didn't gice me what I requested, and butchered me terribly. It's going to take 2-3 Years go grow to my elbow. I walked in with beautiful hair to my bum..and asked out woth it butchered to my shoulders. I'm so upset
The thing is I'm going to cut it really short, my mom already planned EVERYTHING so there is no way out of this, I'll update when I cut it ( tomorrow ) wishes me luck
little vent here!! i just got a haircut (i wanted a long layered face framing haircut) and i’m absolutely devastated. i’ve gone to this salon once and they did it perfectly, i went back today and the layers are so choppy and not even blended.. i wanna cry. i went back the second i noticed i didn’t like it and asked her to fix it but she said she’d have to take off way too much of my hair. she also said my hair looked fine and it didn’t need anything, it looks awful!! i cant go out like this. she already took off a lot and i don’t know what to do. i wanted a haircut since school was starting but i look even worse than i did before :(. all i’ve done is cry because my hair is the only thing i really love about myself 🙁
I had my hair done and It looks nothing like the photos I showed my stylist and top that, the total cost was more than I was told. But I didn’t have the courage to tell her while in the chair so I messaged her when I got home (about making it more like the photo I showed) I’m going to see her soon but should I tip her again?
I wish so much I lived near you, I would love to be your client. This is embarrassing to admit but I have cut my own hair for YEARS. I had a traumatic experience with a stylist, I wanted to go blonde but I naturally have dark hair, so they bleached my hair to the point that it was like an elastic gummy.... Then they said it was unfixable so they gave me super short haircut, and all layered and put on some dark dye on top to "hide the damage", lol. It was awful. Worst time of my life, honestly. I have never felt so UGLY :(. Since then I grew my hair our and now I just dye it with henna and cut the ends myself every few months. My hair is ok, healthy, but SO boring. I wish so much I could get over my anxiety and do something different and fun, cut it in layers and try to go blonde!!
All of this is leeegit. I would add this (fwiw): Dress for the haircut/service. Show the stylist how you see yourself by showing how you attire. Peeps perceive us via our presentation. If there are no pictures to share as to what cut/service is desired, stylist might infer some from how we look. Meaning: Wash & Go? Busy Soccer Mom? Professional Business Person? Edgy Artist? etc. Just a random share. . .
I just got my hair done and I hate it and so does everyone else. I asked for highlights and lowlights..I gave her the formula from my last stylist that unfortunately moved. I walked in as a blonde and she made my hair mousey brown. When I told her she said maybe after a few washes it will lighten up...I need to go back but I'm afraid she will not be able to fix it and it might be worse. I literally even showed her pictures of my hair before she started to show her what I like and how the girl before colored it.
I went to ask for a refund and I was sobbing in the salon it was awful. But they were lovely and I’m going to get it fixed next week. Definitely worth going in, was so anxious tho I’ve never complained about anything
I have been in a situation twice now where hairdressers have totally ruined my hair but did not speak up. I can understand your point of view however I asked for my hair to be colour ash brown and got blonde balayage 🤪 Would you really want that samehairdresser to put it right when she cannot tell the difference between blonde and brown?!?😩
Fifi Lebelle in order to get ash brown, you have to lighten the hair blonde first... I know, it kind of doesn’t make sense, but in order to get an ash color, you have to lift out all of the warm tones (a.k.a. lighten it to a light blonde). If you’re left with blonde, then it either needs to be toned again or you may not have gotten light enough to do the ash brown yet and will need another session of lightening. I don’t think it’s a lack of competence on the stylist’s part, it’s just a lack of communication and educating!
@@styledbysamvayyeah, we're sick of being told it's a lack of communication. I've heard that after showing a pic. How can there be a lack of communication with a picture?
I had a good appointment with a stylist about three weeks ago the quality of the work done was very good there was a little disparity in the inspiration photo and what I received. There was a lot of contrasting dimension in the inspiration photo that somehow did not translate into my hair. The stylist did tell me that some of the shades of purple in the inspiration photo may not show up in my hair because it was not a level 10. I suggested that she picks some of your colors in that same color scheme that would show up. While rinsing my hair she kept going on about the amount of dimension and contrast so I had assumed that she had used colors that showed up vividly so I was a little disappointed when she turned me around and in the dark it only appeared to be a single color dark purple. Despite there being about five different cheese in the inspiration photo I only ended up with two and the ones I did end up with were very close in color so the second one really only shows up in certain lighting. I feel like she might’ve chosen to go ahead and just use colors that weren’t going to show up so that she could get a second appointment out of me and then the next time it would require a lightning service and be even more expensive just to get to what I wanted when I would’ve been happy to pay another hundred or $150 to get all of the color at once without having to lighten my hair at all. I ended up not liking how purple looks in my skin and I told her making it clear it was my preference not her work but she lost it on me and ended up posting me online In a stylists group calling me ungrateful claiming she told me the color would come out but I demanded she go ahead and use that shade anyway. She said she told me my hair was damaged and this was the best she could do with my awful hair and I should be happy it looks this good. The thing is besides for the fact that she did tell me that she didn’t think the purple was going to show up everything other than that is a total lie and the opposite of what she told me she actually offered to lighten my hair while I was there to get that light purple and I told her no and said to pick a darker color. I actually was the one who expressed concern over my hair getting damaged or being damaged and she said that my hair was actually healthier than the majority of her clients. Are you even actually have text messages from her after the service where she offers again to bleach my hair so that she can get that color so if my hair was so fried that this was like the best she could do and I shouldn’t be lucky that it didn’t fallout why on earth would she volunteered to bleach my hair? I’m honestly not sure what I did wrong in this scenario I was very polite and kind offer to pay full price to change the my look and made 0 demands as to any color it had to be. I told her I was one to suggestion in fact I even told her that I would volunteer at some point to do one of those TH-cam videos or TikTok‘s where the stylist gets cards and gets to pick out the cut and color of the client and surprise them so how that would give the impression that I was picky and demanding. It sucks to because she was all nice to me through text messages when I told her that I didn’t like how it looks on me but then in this group did I just happened to see she was like a totally different person.
So I have a stylist that I love! He always cuts my hair really well, but this time he forgot to thin out and add layers to the left side and I'm stuck with uneven looking hair. What should I say?
Also I was only unsatisfied with my hair one time! I knew I didn’t like it while I was there but I felt SUPERRRR awkward and her next client was waiting, felt bad saying something in front of her next client..so I waited til the next day, called the salon and told her it just looked a little different in natural light.. felt easier to do it over the phone 🤣 she corrected it as best as she could but I eventually switched stylists about 2 years and have never been happier:)
i love my hairdresser but i always hate it afterwards and it never looks good. i don’t get my hair colored, just cut but my hair is thick and when it’s too short it’s just way to bulky. so for the 5th time i’m going to wait for my hair to grow and i’ll be happy in 2/3 months
Ok so i went in looking for a balayage and I really liked it but when I went home and looked at it, it was terrible and i hated the way the color looked and it wasn’t what I asked for so i let the stylist know and she called me in super fast and tried to fix it and the way she was fixing it seemed off to me so I questioned it then but she reassured me saying it would be fine and again after i went home I realized how splotchy it looked, what do I do now?
@@Clleonie I went back to her and told her to put more brown in and keep a few highlights towards me face umm she highlighted my whole head and just colored the blotchy spots brown then had the nerve to charge me $60 on top of the $110. I never will go back and I let the town know what she did. She stopped doing hair now. I didn’t know she was new right out of school. I went to a more experienced stylist and got baby lights all over charged me $120 and I love it. Don’t get balayage in small towns. Hell they can’t even do nails around here lmao. Lesson learned
@@Clleonie I reached out to her again and she was rude about it but we both just had a discussion about what I wanted my hair to look like from every angle. in the end I wasn't super happy with the results but I was okay with it so im glad I said something. I know its hard but just try to reach out! the worst that can happen is they ignore u! hope this helped :)
I wish I would’ve known this video before I went to my hair stylist take me four years to grow my hair she could wait too much of my hair I don’t even like that color because the top is lighter than the rest of the hair does the it’s not one color i’m not sure who to trust on my hair and that just sold disappointed that it would come up better than I’m not even happy with this color I tried to show her the picture the color I used to have and she suggested to help me choose another color that I’m not even happy with next time I go to hairstyles I’ll take on your advice based on this video that you posted
i'm sorry but this has not remotely been my experience. i have had hair salons point blank refuse to correct bad colour and not return calls when i contacted them to say there was an issue after a cut.
I have been stuck in my bed for a while now and the hairdresser is the only place I have been except hospital anyway the hairdresser literally over the road. They've had me there for last few years anyway see the long hair I HAD... STRESS HAD.. I asked to be able to push behind my ears before I could say anything the clipp was weren't just doing my sideburns she Shaved it. Nothing like the picture she showed me I had forgotten to tell them I had also just got them 1000+on Google review.. Anyway I came home and I cried... I was having it done for my Nans funeral.. I have only been to hospital appointment since Wondered why it was cheap.. My partner went to see her to say that I won't go out and how its Knocked My Self Esteem but she says they're MOVING NOW.. BTW I am a tetraplegic so it was marvelous to have a hairdressers in the village
I asked for blunt symmetrical layers. Mane like. Lots of volume and blunt layers. Had a pic to show but while i was still explaining she picked up a chunk of my dry, not sectioned hair and drug (not cut, by oprning and closing) the scissors through my hair. While i was trying to explain that procedure has NEVER worked on my hair she snapped "ive been cutting hair fir 37 years!" Hairdressers take note: YOU HAVE NOT CUT MY HAIR FOR 37 years. I explained cutting mu hair a certain way will allow 3 styles, scrunched and messy, all layered back or all blow dried towards the face. At over 120 hair cuts in my life i do know what im talking about. Idont have one piece of hair on my head that matches the length on the left side as the right side. 0 volume. Stuck flat to my head. Looks like i have 50% less hair than when i walked in. i asked for lots of blunt symmetrical layers and volume. Even said mane-like. Ever see a lion with a flat mane? I havent. Why wont hair dresseres listen? I paid $50 which is twice what i normally pay. And youre saying to give her a 2nd chance? If she makes it even worse whats my recourse then.? Haidressers need to listen better. I know exactly what i want and also how its achieved. Because ive had to live through the bad haircuts more than once. I watch what youre doing and see the results. Please hairstylists, tealize youre client may not cut hair but after watching our hair being cut 100+ times we do know what were talking about. To be honest, the only thing that wouls make me feel better is this woman having a bad hair day for the next three months like im going to, getting my money back and a heartfelt apology. Im very unhappy and really down on how I look. Your bad haircuts put women through utter hell. LISTEN! P L E A S E.
Quick qs: I went to a stylist that got good reviews and asked for a full head of highlights. She gave me a full head of blonde highlights but the front of my hair turned out sort of orange brassy so I went back a second time since she offered to fix it for free. She ended up giving me baby highlights and suggested a Scandinavian hairline because I still wasn’t happy with how the orange brassy color was on my hair when I asked for blonde. There was a disconnect in communication because the honey color ended up sticking but it looks really artificial now and even though I asked for natural it just turned into a mess. She gave me a free purple shampoo from Moroccan oil company and I tried it in all my hair but it doesn’t seem to have done anything. Should I use the purple shampoo again in a week? Or risk using it two this week just on that front part of my hair I’m not happy with? Or hope that it fades and grow my hair out? Help😩
Great video. But I'm not going back and giving a second chance to the same person that messed up my hair. No way. The fact that she didnt see the obvious splotches just goes to show that wouldnt be a good idea. I would rather just fix it myself and just put a color over it that matches my natural color and go back to natural. Kuz if I get up the courage to tell them it's bad and I want it to be fixed and then they get a second chance and mess that one up too then I could end up with it even worse and then a 3rd time even worse.
So I went in to a salon with damaged box dyed blonde hair. I told my stylist I wanted a reverse balayage with some warm honey blondes and light browns in it. I showed a picture, sent the picture to her and by the end of the treatment, it was black at the root, dark brown throughout and white blonde at the end. She offers to fix it without me having ti say much. I go back in and she blends the black and brown out more through my hair 😭. It does look better now that it’s blended and when it was curled it even looked nice. But I don’t curl it every day and it’s been 2 days since this happened and I wanna cry because I never wanted to be a brunette!! Should I tell my stylist and ask if she might be able to do a lighter brown at the root and more blonde throughout???
I gave a stylist a second chance recently, she destroyed my hair. I had hair just like Sam’s. Well I now have “The Rachel” cut and 200”’s highlights all over ny head. I ended up calling the head salon (it’s a small 3 salon chain in my town). I went for a consultation with one of their head stylists, he was shocked at how bad she did my hair. The cut can’t be fixed, the color he is going to be able to fix, but wtf. The second chance was a complete bomb for me. I’m so sad.
My hair didn’t turn out anything like the picture, HOWEVER I loovvveee the color but the bayalage has super harsh lines. I told her and we made another appointment to fix it. I did say before we started I wanted it blended and no lines and there are harsh lines. How do I tell her what I want? Do I want highlights added to blend it? She’s new and young and it was virgin hair for me 🥴
I’ve been going to my hairstylist for 2 yrs ,she wants to bleach my hair every 4 weeks! I told her it’s killing my hair & she can never get the same color twice. Each time I go, I’m in the chair for 4 to 5 hrs! She complains every time about my hair being too long, and she hates working on clients that have long hair! FaceTime when she bleached my hair she did platinum and it looks like my hair is dying. It looks bad and she didn’t cut it to frame it around my face she kinda did like Amal. It looks bad and I told her what did you do it. she said oh I just trimmed at the bottom, that’s it and I told her it looks really light the colour I didn’t want to say no no it just looks like that because your roots are lighter! What do I do? Do I go back or no?
The tough part is when they completely chop your hair off. I just had 12 inches chopped off (had clip ins that my natural hair was longer so how I know exact amounts) chopped so not something that’s easily fixed.
I am way too old to be wearing my hair so dark and yet that's what I live with. I've asked my stylist multiple times how we can lighten it up. The only answer she gives me is to do highlights. Is this true or is there another way? Thank you.
So I’ve been getting my hair dyed since I was 14, and the last time I got my hair dyed was last year when I was 19. When I first wanted my hair done I specifically asked for subtle highlights (for the record I had dishwater blonde hair) … I ended up being platinum. One or two years later I showed her a picture of a dark red color I wanted… well it turned out fine but it eventually faded to a disgusting shade of orange, so I she convinced me to go back to blonde. Wellll it ended up being to much bleaching and it looked like “straw” according to my mother. A couple of years later (when I was 18) I went elsewhere for service. I was going to get a COOL brown. welllll… it was yet again another disgusting reddish/orange shade (much darker though). Wellll I got my hair rebleached by my regular hair stylist and it turned out fine, but 2 years later (which was last year when I was 19/ almost 20) I wanted to go grey. So I asked my regular hair stylist to do it. She downright refused. So I just left and got my hair done elsewhere. This other place did a good job, but it still wasn’t what I wanted. I wanted grey but ended up with a cool blonde shade. So I said f*ck it and used box dye. It was very uneven and patchy, so I just said “screw this I’m never dying my hair again” One year later (so now I’m now 20 almost 21) and the grey is gone aaaaaand I’m back to being box dye blonde. In other words…. the grey faded and the bleach from last year STILL hasn’t grown out. I have veeeery slow growing hair so Im hoping by next year I’ll be back to natural or at least mostly natural. And I don’t think I’m dishwater blonde anymore because the last time I straightened my hair I noticed it was darker underneath when I put my hair up! So I’m hoping I won’t have blonde hair when this bleached hair grows out because I’m so done with blonde hair…
I just got my hair lightened, at first I thought I wanted highlights but the pictures I was looking at were balayages. & I told her this. She then went on to say what I want is really high maintenance and she did a “highlight balayage” is that a thing? Now it’s really stripy and some of the start highlights have orange/brown cuz she did a little shadow root also 🤦🏻♀️idk what happened. The other lady/ stylist there was like telling her not to do this & that so I think that just made it worse! Too many hands in the pot! And it made her seem like she didn’t know what she was doing! I’m not happy with my hair 😢
I went to Walmart hair salon and left with an okay smile and a couple hours later I noticed one side is longer (I chopped it off) and the side that’s not even has pieces that are uneven
Ok but I went in at opening for an appointment for color and highlights and it took her past closing. I was soooo over how long it took. And then it was more then what she originally said. I didn't ask for extra stuff. I was just ready to leave. I never went back
What do you do if my stylist turned my hair dark brown from toner & it removed ALL my blonde highlights and I told her I was not happy & it was too dark & if she can add some blonde back & she says its going to make my hair fall out & she won't ruin her reputation as a stylist?
2 1/2 hours on the chair. I showed them pictures ahead of time and four color ideas and three cut ideas. They did NOTHING that resembled what I wanted. And my stylist consulted THREE others before she worked on me. Still got it wrong. 😒
The amount of times I’ve got my hair done and then went in my car and cried after is actually sad LMAO
SAME literally in that position rn
Recently I went back to say my colours was very top deck and needed to be broken up more... she said she would fix it but prefaced it with...." I personally wouldn't do this... but will do it so you're happy.. ok.. so don't freak out if kt doesn't look good"
And guess what: it looked way better vs disconnected pieces.
Diana O'Neil ew I hate that!! This is giving me a good idea for another video topic though...
Sam Vay THIS, when I found my last stylist the first service was the best. Enough to convince me to keep coming back but each time after that it got worse and worse. I would leave a frizzy mess and was charged a different amount each time for some reason
The last time I got my hair done I didn’t quite like the color after she did the toner, I only said anything because Ive been going to her for a while now and I asked for the same thing last time and it was exactly what I wanted, it was painfully awkward for me but I told her it didn’t look quite as good as last time so she took me back over to the sink and happily applied another toner, lowkey was so proud of myself for speaking up
That’s great! Good for you!
I hope you demanded a refund
Thats exactly what happened to me today 😢 my hard earned money just went to the drain... my hair looks worse than before the salon visit 😢
The same thing was done to me
We don’t want them to fix it, after they already f-ed it up. I NEVER get what I ask for. I have just given up.
Yup, exactly.
I agree
I agree I would love love love to have Amazon type reviews with pictures on stylist! That would be so awesome!!! Please someone start this ASAP!
I agree! I’m going to have to go back because I got my hair done Thursday & tried to give it a shot but it’s not what I wanted
So it is a disrespectful thing? They think that they know better? That explains alot
If you're not happy with your hair I can't fix it if I don't know!
rachael oldfield exactly!
So if they ask you to fix it do you wait 3 weeks or so or do it right away?

I just think if they *ucked up once, why would I go back there if they already didn’t know how to make it first time?
You are smart
Exactly I would never go back
Yes!!
Yup!
Definitely say something, I did and it’s so worth it, I found it very hard but yeah.
I have had the same hairstylist since I was 13 and I’m 25 now. She’s like a second mom to me, and is there for me through all of lives challenges. It’s so amazing when you can have a strong bond and trust with your hairstylist.
Same!! She did my hair on school and uni graduation. And all the crazy colors and haircuts in-between.
René Hall I love that!
Ma’am, I just need to vent. I’m so depressed rn because of my hair:
I have some thick frizzy hair that I straighten everything. single.
I think thick curly hair is beautiful! 🥰
Seriously?”
I also think there is a problem with getting my point across - I don’t know all the proper terms so I just try to explain it the best I can.
Love this video 👍 For some strange reason it's easier for me to communicate with a nail technician than a hair stylist 😂
I had this experience today. I was surprised because this stylist did a great job the first time I went to them.
You just need a toner that will basically deepen the colour of the highlights... this can be done at the salon and shouldn't be too expensive.
i got my hair done and i wanted a silvery light grey colour and thought it was gonna look great. it turned out a weird old grey/green colour. i cant stop crying and i dont know how to tell my mum i hate it😭
I literally box dye my hair now because I have soooo much hair anxiety from bad experiences. If I mess up, it's on me!!! I paid 8$ lol
Using this video to communicate with my hair stylist of 20 years that I don't like my hair color she did yesterday 😭
I went to the same hairdresser for over 15 years. I asked for ash tone colour. He put in natural tone. Since we were tryng to lighten the hair the result, was an orangey mess. Someone you pay hhndreds of dollars per session should do what you ask. No second chances. Besides, as a hairdresser he should have known better.
me im quiet . If i dont like it i just say screw it and dye over it . my mom yells at people 💀💀💀💀💀
I recently got really chunky highlights by blo dry bar in Oxford ms. Though I hate even confronting people, it is absolutely necessary in order to not be walked all over
Loving yor top suits you soo much! I gotta get one like that lol 😆
Omg!!!! The reason i end up here is looking to give me ideas what is Olaplex treatment. So we would know what to expect what to ask what to know when we goto our appointment (haircut/color/Olaplex)...
this video BIG help!!! What to say and don’t be hesitant to say something u don’t like. Thank u so much
you look so GORG!!!!!!!! I love the blonde on you, OMG
jacqueline Canamar thank you!!!
My hair was extremely awful... how can they fix it 😫 if they messed up the first time
I asked for golden brown baliage and ended up with copper with blonde highlights...
I’m done!
Thank you for making this video. It helped me feel better about addressing a bad balayage.🙏🏽
i got my hair cut right before school started, i asked for a "wolf cut" all over.
That’s exactly what happened to me, and I feel so ugly
What about when you go in and ask for an inch off and clarify what you think an inch is and they take off 7-8 inches 🙃. I never know what to say because I think it’s pretty obvious that they took off too much and there’s nothing they can do to change it.
Angela Gibson I hate that! If all you want is an inch off, the safest thing to do is say you want “a dusting” so they’ll just take off a tiny bit/ the dead ends that need to come off.
And there's no doubt in anyone's mind that it was done on purpose. That is the worst part.
They do that to me a lot! They tell me it’s because it’s so damaged, but it really sucks because I’m trying so hard to grow it out.
I just spent 500 on my hair today...and it looks like crap...ughhhhhh....so sad
If I want your hair colour and style what do I ask for?? I’m LOVING ur hair right now and I have an apt in the morning!! Lol please reply😩🙏🏼❤️
following!!
Nicc Morris just show a picture of the video! That’s the easiest way :)
I went in for highlights and came out with a dark color! I loved my natural hair color 😭😭
I had my hair done and It looks nothing like the photos I showed my stylist and top that, the total cost was more than I was told. But I didn’t have the courage to tell her while in the chair so I messaged her when I got home (about making it more like the photo I showed) I’m going to see her soon but should I tip her again?
Did she schedule the correction right away or make you wait? What’s the status now
I'm a huge tipper. I wouldn't tip her again. You've has to make two trips, time, gas....that's her tip.
I wish so much I could get over my anxiety and do something different and fun, cut it in layers and try to go blonde!!
ña na awww I wish!!! Nothing to be embarrassed about! I don’t blame you at all. I’m sorry you had such a bad experience :(
All of this is leeegit. Edgy Artist? etc. Just a random share. . .
Your color looks amazing Sam!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌
S C thank you!
what if you go twice to a salon and they still couldn't fix it.... honestly I'm staying away from all hair stylists
You look gorgeous, and cute background!
Willow McMahon thank you so much!
Sam, you are glowing! You, your new place and the quality of your videos are beautiful 💕
I went to ask for a refund and I was sobbing in the salon it was awful. But they were lovely and I’m going to get it fixed next week. Definitely worth going in, was so anxious tho I’ve never complained about anything
I have been in a situation twice now where hairdressers have totally ruined my hair but did not speak up.
Sam Vay The only thing is she never toned my hair once! 😩
@@styledbysamvayyeah, we're sick of being told it's a lack of communication. I've heard that after showing a pic. How can there be a lack of communication with a picture?
@@sandralee7443right😭 every damn time. I give up. I’m just never going to get the hair color I want
Can you do a video plz on what to do when your hair stylist over processes your hair 🥺
Please do an updated makeup routine/GRWM 😍💖
One of the only people who look good with their hair back 🤣🤗
Also I was only unsatisfied with my hair one time!
Melissa Rubeo haha Aw thank you! Yes, talking on the phone or through text is definitely less awkward than face to face!!
i love my hairdresser but i always hate it afterwards and it never looks good. i don’t get my hair colored, just cut but my hair is thick and when it’s too short it’s just way to bulky. so for the 5th time i’m going to wait for my hair to grow and i’ll be happy in 2/3 months
Why keep going to the same person that keeps making you unhappy...?
Ok so i went in looking for a balayage and I really liked it but when I went home and looked at it, it was terrible and i hated the way the color looked and it wasn’t what I asked for so i let the stylist know and she called me in super fast and tried to fix it and the way she was fixing it seemed off to me so I questioned it then but she reassured me saying it would be fine and again after i went home I realized how splotchy it looked, what do I do now?
I’m going through this right now. She wants to fix with another toner but that’s not gonna fix the botchiness spots and color I’m freaking out.
What happened in the end, this has happened to me and I don't want to go back to the same hairdresser now 😭
@@caseyhoward8149 did you get it sorted ? I'm going through this now, it's devastating. 😭
I’m a hair stylist & do my own hair. I’m very picky lol!
i'm sorry but this has not remotely been my experience. i have had hair salons point blank refuse to correct bad colour and not return calls when i contacted them to say there was an issue after a cut.
Quick qs:
I went to a stylist that got good reviews and asked for a full head of highlights.
I’m about to give a second chance to my hairdresser. I believe she can do it. I’ll tell you how it works out.
@@Lovethyneighbor2022 Hope it works out! Leave a bottle of wine in your fridge for when you get home just in case lol
I’m so sad.
This is why I disagree with 2nd chances. If they make it worse you now have 0 recourse.
She’s new and young and it was virgin hair for me 🥴
Where is your top from? :) love the vid!!
Anja p thank you! It’s from boohoo
It was very uneven and patchy, so I just said “screw this I’m never dying my hair again”
One year later (so now I’m now 20 almost 21) and the grey is gone aaaaaand I’m back to being box dye blonde.
Thank-you so much I needed to hear this
I asked for blonde highlights and she did an ombré and now 90% of my hair is blonde and I hate it 🥲🥲 it’s so brassy and orange too
