    This guide to the motor replacement was EXCELLENT! Thank you so much. I'm a 50+ lady and I did it all by myself with your guidance! FYI, loosen the exhaust wheel screw AFTER you pull out the blower wheel. Mine was so stuck, it was coming out with the motor. I had to tighten the exhaust wheel again so that the motor stayed in its place until I could remove the blower wheel. Definitely have the right allen wrench! Thx again!

    I want to thank you for posting this video! I struggled for an hour before deciding to go to the university of TH-cam and get help. One thing I should have done was to spray that shaft end with WD40 and let it set. Dang that was a bugger to get off. I had to cut a 1x3 board and insert into them opening above where the exhaust vent was then get a pry bar and pry the motor off the shaft. Finally got it though and didn’t break anything but I don’t think I would’ve finished without this video. Great job.

    Thx for the usefull video. Had no idea what was in there.
    Purchased a new motor, rounded up all the tools & excellent Atwood Owners Manual, waited for the perfect day, .... and followed your proceedure.
    Now have a smooth running forced-air furnace with your production as a guide.

    Thanks for the video. I did it in a half hour without removing the burner like most other videos. I used my map gas torch on the exhaust fan and it came right off no problem!

    Thanks for taking the time to create this. Getting the main blower blade off was a pain in the butt! Took almost 2 hours to free it. (My RV is 32 years old, so that does not help the situation.)

      You are welcome and I'm glad you were able to get your old motor out. You should be good for another 32 years hopefully. :)

    Thank you so much for making this video. It was so hard to find such a detailed removal and installation on the very same unit that i have!! I was very weary about the motor that i ordered because i was not able to find a correct model number for the motor, the motor i ordered is almost identical to yours the only difference i see is that the wires on mine are super long and the model number is different but other than that shafts and the case even the rubber boot on the base of the wires looks the same. Awesomeness

    You are one handy dude! We rarely use our furnace deferring to the little 1500 W space heaters instead. Only use the furnace for occasional boon docking, or when it’s really chilly and we’re trying to warm the rig up more quickly. BUT...if my furnace motor ever does need to be replaced, I now know who to call ; ), Thanks Bruce!!!

    Thanks for doing this video. Ive got an 8525-11 and the blower motor has developed an ear piercing scream. Ive lubricated it a couple times but it only stops for a day or two. Looks pretty straight forward.

    problem: i got the atwood 8535-1 furnace. got the dinosaur Fan 50
    control board but the plug wires don't match up. fits fine but one wire
    has no contact when plugged into dinosaur. original has pwr, v1, s1,
    & gnd. the s1 doesnt go anywhere on dinosaur board. everything else
    matches. thats the flame sensor. i can move the pin but only thing left
    is "NC"? my furnace thermostat grounds the circuit & also i have
    time delay relay so i dont think i use the t-stat pin on the dinosaur
    board. also i thought if i used the dinosaur board i would NOT need to
    have the time-delay relay anymore. thats what i read online. cant find
    any info & Dinosaur ele has NO phone #.

    Can you give me the proper replacement furnace for this unit? I cannot get the exhaust pipe out I believe it is Rusted and corroded to the point where it won't pull out. I'm pretty sure I have to replace the whole furnace?

      Potentially this one? amzn.to/3AwECcU I recommend you contact the manufacturer first to make sure it will fit your RV. There is manufacturer contact info on the item ad. I wish you the best with your project.

    My motor is fine after removing the noise was from the shroud buy I am having trouble finding the right one on amazon the height and width varies, the motor is new still had tag in there its replacement motor I must not be searching the right part number for motor as different sizes fit on the motor. What sites do you like to buy parts from that can find right part even when replacement parts are on RV? Do you just use Amazon? Theres big difference in price for the factory parts and replacement parts. Maybe you have vid about finding the right parts at best possible price? Any advice would be appreciated. Thxs again I like the way you explain things so even a beginner like me can understand.

    • @DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10
      @DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just use Amazon for RV parts. I would just search the furnace brand and model number if you can find it on the appliance. RV supply stores will charge you two or three times what you pay on Amazon IMO. Hope this helps you out.

    Please help, my local rV mechanic for whatever reason refuses to help me replace my propane heaters, claiming liability and fears he won’t be able to live with himself if something goes wrong - I need to know once i clear the gas line through my stove and I turn the gas off at the tank, shut my breakers off and unplug my motorhome, somehow break loose the bolts connecting to the gas and pull out the heater, I won’t be able to use my stove until I get it all fixed and put new heaters on correct? I know that seems obvious but just wanted to know if there is somehow to plug the gas lines and still be able to use my stove. If not no problem, I have a camp stove I can use and fire pit.
    Also, how do I make sure it is all sealed properly - the neighbor mechanic told me tape but I heard there is a wet substance of sorts that is supposed to be used to make sure it is sealed correctly. And once I get it all put back together do I need to somehow purge the gas line or something or just turn the gas on, check the connections with soapy water and turn my heater/stove on

    • @DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10
      @DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10  ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally I just apply soapy water to all connections with the gas turned on and under pressure. Just dish soap and water and spray it on or use a wet rag. If you see air bubbles at the connection, you have a leak. No need to purge anything, just turn the gas on and when the gas gets to the appliance it will light. I don’t know what to do to block off the line so you can use the stove before you finish installing the heaters unless you put in a shut off valve.
