    Great video, very accurate and easy to understand! I have a question about the SF-30 motor. Does it use a PSC motor? I'm asking because I couldn't find a capacitor in mine. Also, the motor was replaced last year, but the new one, not even a year old, has failed. You mentioned considering a core replacement, which is a smart observation. This seems to be the recommended approach.

    This was an awesome video. Thank you for considering your viewers and taking the extra time to walk us through the diagnosis. Since you can't be everywhere all of the time when you are needed, it's great to have these videos as a resource for basic troubleshooting.

    Your video was a great help, and just like your video I have discovered that my motor is bad and needs to be replaced go figure. Sooooo. I am moving forward and watching your motor replacement video and hope to find a continuation video on this furnace. Thanks again, best furnace repair video I've watched yet.

    Hi Darren, I was a camp host at the beach RV park in PA and got to meet you in person and you are one of the nicest people I've met. I now run Island View in PA and refer our guests to you and your TH-cam channel when they have issues with their rigs. Anyways, I have a question for you. I was wondering if my problem is similar to this video or something else. I turn on my furnace and it fires up right away. Once it reaches the temperature it turns off fine but then after the trailer cools down the furnace tries to ignite again and I just keep hearing clicking sounds coming from the ceiling plenum at the AC and takes several minutes for the furnace to start again unless I manually change the temperature on the thermostat by only 1 or 2 degrees and then it will start up right away like I just turned it on. Do you have a video for this issue to help me figure out what could be wrong or is this the correct video and I possibly need a new motor? Thanks a bunch for all your expertise that you share with people. I enjoy watching your videos.

    Thanks for the detailed info. I have a similar issue but when I send 12v straight to the motor it runs fine. Am I looking at a bad control board? I have 12v on the red power into the control board but nothing on the blower.

    I get so much out of watching your videos. I will soon be purchasing my first Class A motorhome. I have been watching several videos for some time trying to help me understand some problems that I could repair myself. Even if I do not wish to try and repair the problem understanding would help me understand the charge for repair. Thanks so much for sharing this information with me. I wish to see this beautiful land in my later years.

    What do I look for if I don’t have 12v on either blue?🤔

    • @MyRVWorks
      @MyRVWorks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One of your blue wires is piggybacked off of the 12 volt supplying the furnace. Make sure you use the furnace frame for ground and then probe the individual blue wires. If you do not get 12 volts on one of the blue wires and then check the furnace supply wire.

    I just thought I’d share the experience I had with my rv furnace. Same thing , a call for heat resulted in nothing happening at the furnace . It turns out it was a stuck closed sail switch that wasn’t freeing up and returning to the open position after the previous cycle.

    My furnace not working either, it has two blue wires one not connected to anything, but if I connect them together furnace comes on, since that leads me to believe the thermostat is bad I’ve replaced it and no joy there. Nice power stroke you got there.

    Great video. Question to anyone.... I found a blue wire behind my thermostat NOT connected to anything... The furnace works, the heat pump overhead works, but what is strange is that the furnace and heat pump come on at the same time? The blue wire has no voltage or ground. No continuity with any thermostat wires. Any ideas or recommendations?

  • @n.g.1577

    Thank you very much for the video. Can someone please correct me if I'm wrong here: Is it safe to say that if the unit tries to ignite by going through normal process of trying 3 times (ignitor sparking) before the fan shuts-off after a few minutes, that at this point the culprit will have to be the gas-valve (solenoids) because if there's no gas flowing through valve then the board is not getting power to continue running? In other words, what makes the board shut itself off if there's no combustion? Is there a sensor somewhere that detects flame or is it the valve that ultimately makes this call? My sail-switch and limit-switch both tested good, and I'm getting 38+ ohms on both solenoids on 12VDC, .480A gas-valve, but unit won't fire up.

    • @ericschweitzer2454
      @ericschweitzer2454 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Flames sensor needs to sense or everything shuts down

  • @georgewheeler3731
    @georgewheeler3731 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You didn't mention why 12v has to go thru the A/C unit, before going to the furnace?
    12v should be wired directly to the furnace from the thermostat.

    Hey Darren, Frank,l and a longtime Patreon supporter to you. I encourage all who benefit to join Patreon and help make these videos possible. I did have a couple of fuzzies and hope you could provide a clearer understanding on that part of the video.
    When you had both blue wires at the furnace "pierced" by the meter probes, did you mean to leave them pierced and switch to continuity test with 12V on or off? If on, I heard to never use a tester on continuity on a live circuit? Or, were the two blue wires dead, and you were testing back to the relay up in the AC location for that continuity, and yet if that is the case? Wouldn't that mean the thermostat was off or calling for heat? See my confusion?
    What is a piercing probe for your tester? Are they those needle looking probe ends?
