      Motorbikes yes, you are right, karting, I don't know. Never known any major big accidents with life treatening injuries. I know only 1 fatality, and that was certainly a very rare accident.

    • @Gean...de...Oliveira
      @Gean...de...Oliveira 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You're right. It "looks".
      That's because you're exposed, in a open vehicle.
      But besides "looking" more dangerous, it's actually much safer.
      Probably because the vehicles are much lighter and speeds much lower.
      When you're going 200... 300Kph in a 1.000Kg machine things can get nasty.
      But 100Kph in a 90Kg Kart it's much safer.
      👍

    Kart crash no.2 is the sole reason why every go kart places NEED seatbelts. If a kid were to be in that same crash his spine would have been broken or shattered.
    Edit: Almost every crash on this video is the reason why we need seatbelts...and WHY do some races have go karts start at full speed right up against each other all together? I dunno I find that a lil bit dumb tbh

    • @snazzyidiot
      @snazzyidiot 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Adding seatbelts would be ineffective, I'd rather get launched out of my kart than be strapped down. To clarify I'm referring to race karts, rental karts are different.
      If I were to go upside down, I would be dragged along with my kart and risk spinal injuries. Without a seatbelt the inertia would throw me out of the seat, and I would walk away with bruising and maybe a sprain. The point is I'd rather get thrown out of the seat than be strapped down into an object that offers zero protection (no roll bars and the driver is completely out in the open). Of course a seatbelt would be helpful to avoid what happens in clip #2, but the risks outweigh the benefits.

    • @nicc2366
      @nicc2366 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey man, what if you flip like it happened most of the time? I get what you are saying, I thought the same thing until I actually went karting and realised that not having a seatbelt is not too bad and is definitely better than breaking ur neck!

    • @Gean...de...Oliveira
      @Gean...de...Oliveira 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's karting bro. We don't use seatbelts.
      For rentals I agree, some tracks have roll bars and belts. After all, it's just some random people having some fun at the mall.
      But when it comes to racing karts, proper racing karts, it would make things much worse.

    • @Gean...de...Oliveira
      @Gean...de...Oliveira 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They don't start full speed. They start in low speed.
      Some karts have the engine directly connected to the axle. They can't stop.
      The other reason is because karts, even the ones with a clutch, doesn't have much power on low RPM, so they start in motion. Except for Shifters, but they have standing starts.
      But there are a lot of rules on how to proceed during starts. Usually crashes happen when someone break the rules.
