I googled booby expecting to see booby but I instead saw booby, and was pleasantly surprised. But then I searched boobies instead, and saw boobies instead of boobies, and I was disappointed.
This skit represents my feelings perfectly when it comes to the football/soccer argument.

Well that’s because you don’t know the actual history. Soccer was a term the British came up with which was shortened from association football. They called it association football because there was another sport that already was Called football named rugby football. They actually evolved from the same sport. The term football is actually referring to a bunch of medieval games played on foot. So it actually had nothing to do with using the foot to kick the ball. Now another sport evolved from rugby football in America, and because it came from rugby football they just called it football. Now the terms soccer and football were actually interchangeable until about 1980 when England decided out of nowhere that they were going to exclusively call it football. Of course the name football was already trademarked in the us so they continued to call it soccer. So it’s englands fault, they can suck it. It’s called soccer.
In Ryan’s “How insects got their names” sketch the Bee guy quit at the end. Now he’s in this sketch and he was the one to identify the bee in the room :)

I love the idea of all these sports being wildly popular and played professionally for decades only for people to finally say "Hey, you know what? We should probably come up with some names for these games"
Well it's very simple, barely an inconvenience, but people just stopped wanting to call sports by "this game" or "that game" or "this one game with the ball".

What most of the world calls "Football" was originally called "Association Football" and "Rugby" was called "Rugby Football". American Football started in the 1860's as a combination of both sports, so it was shortened to just "Football". The name "Soccer" comes from the "Association" in Association Football and it was a British invention

Fun Fact: Soccer is a British word that originated at Oxford University in the the 1800s but was stopped using after WW2 because the British started to see it as Americanism. also American Football is actually named Gridiron Football.
And the word soccer came from "Association Football" as a shortened version of association.
