He was also the one to point out that it was a Bee that flew into the room in the video, not a wasp, which actually makes a lot sense since he's the one who *named the thing.*

The fly naming scene reminded me of the one time one of my friend asked if a fly lost it’s wings somehow if it would be called a walk.
As an systematic entomologist who spends his entire day trying to name beetles this is pretty accurate.

Eventually you're getting way too specific to come up with catchy, meaningful names, and you have to just go with whatever.

In norwegian dragonflies are called "øyenstikker" which literally translate to "eye-stinger". As a kid I thought dragon flies could gouge your eyes out because of their name. Imagine if that was true

In the UK, a Daddy Long Legs refers to a different type of insect. I don't know what to call it since I only know it by the name "daddy long legs", but it has wings and constantly flails around in your house in the autumn
