This is by the far the most enjoyable, helpful review of these glasses I’ve seen. I’m on day 3 with my Ray Ban Meta glasses and getting the transition lenses was a huge plus.
Nice review. I don't know if you spent much time listening to audio with these. For me the audio is great. Even with higher volume levels the sound bleed is surprisingly minimal.
Just got mine. Yes you can return with prescription. I wanted to change it out. Had to do a return. And rebuy. Super quick. Super easy. I got the matt black with transition lenses. So far love em.
Do they still come in clear lenses if you buy prescription + transition lenses and transition when exposed to sunlight? Or are they tinted slightly if you add transition lenses to prescription?

Honestly, between my AirPods Max and these, I prefer these sunglasses!! Such awesome speakers, and not to forget their 5 microphones picking up my voice so perfectly!
I have used these now little over a month. Audio is good and as a hands free these are superb. The bad is video. It should be horizontal, 16:9, 4K and 120 fps.

Ordered mine today at my opticians i went for the Glossy with grey transitions over the matte as they looked good when trying them on. Now the 2 weeks wait.
Just placed an order for a SECOND pair of these. 😂. My first pair is prescription. I justified this by comparing the prices of frames at my optician to the cost of the Meta Ray-Ban frames. Only slightly more expensive and I needed new glasses anyhow. Easy choice. Since I wear them while driving, I can take/make phone calls hands free, listen to text messages as they come in, send text messages while driving & listen to audio books, music etc., all hands free. The downside is, I can't see close up with my driving glasses on, so as soon as I get out of the car I take them off. Wah, wah, wah. Hence, the second pair, no prescription. I have transitions lenses on both. While they don't get as dark as sunglasses, they are mostly sufficient on sunny days. They app only allows two pair, so I guess Meta has limited me there. 🤣. Nobody (except my closest peeps) has noticed/commented that they are "smart" glasses... except that one guy in the grocery store who was clearly in the market for a pair. Oh, and they take photos & videos. That's handy.
There's onboard 32gb for photo and video. They don't need a phone to take pictures or videos and the ai works for some basic thing that you don't need the pne for(pictures/video, time, battery etc)

The problem with content creation is that the motivation to use these products is not the same as the average consumer. Really, the only accurate reviews are the long term ones where people reveal how much use they got out of something. I think I might wait until they can master the battery life on these things.
Excellent review, I've been interested in these fir a while. I'm visually disabled and suffer light sensitivity so sunglasses are essential. The ability to take pictures of something whilst I'm out shopping to get a better look at home without drawing attention to myself would be helpful. With a dog in one and and a while stickk in the other you don't always want to be juggling your phone about. I've tried them on, they're comfy, the audio quality was surprising, no earbuds but usable. However, the portrait only, resolution and stability are deal breakers.
These are so useful and the look is a solid look that looks good on many people.... they really nailed the design w these and of course partnering with Rayban probably accomplished this. Definitely getting these unless Meta releases a gen 3 or AR glasses this month at Meta Connect. 🔥🔥❤️✌️😁

So I have a lot of questions regarding this. Anyone here can answer those. 1. I'm going join a medical school as an undergraduate doing mbbs for a span of 5.5 years and I want to make content regarding practicals that we do like testing blood group, cheakin stuffs in microscope, taking classes, moving around in the hospital and doing various stuffs. Will it be the best for me to invest like 350 dollars on this. I'm asking this because most med students do vlogs but in most case that are not of pov one. They either use an iphone which I think isn't better than this as a fpv perspective. 2. I'm currently using power lenses so can I change or can the company give power glasses attached to the specs instead of making it a sunglasses. And I can't see things way clear without my glasses so if it provides power glasses then that would be awesome. 3. How long can we record? As said in this video it's 1 minutes and that's fine for yt shorts. Give me further suggestions and if possible tell me how can I get it into India
I bought the 1st version rayban story glasses, just before the the 2nd version meda glasses came out. I was very careful and gentle with them, but it stopped working and didn't last even 6 months. While it worked, enjoyed it. But paying $400 USD, I don't want to throw money away like that again. I could not return them because I am overseas. I haven't seen anyone who has had them for longer then 1 or 2 years with a update review. The longevity of these glasses maybe short
Dude, it's not how it works. The metadata is affected by how the app lets you download the files. My iPhone photos app is already set to chronological order like most people's.
Great review - the AI feature and review on it would have helped. I know we don’t currently have the AI tools like they do in the states which is a let down. For example, looking at a building and asking what it is etc.

Hope one day I will reach your level... And I get that about reaching a white spot.. full geared and being black😂 I dont know if they are surprised about the gear or about me... But I enjoy it anyways.
how bad is the camera shake when your walking? From your video that would be the only deal breaker for me. What if you was to walk on a flat even surface would the shake still be that bad just from walking? Or if you were to deliberately walk slower would that help? Does the app not do any post processing stabilisation?
I'm not sure how he was walking but my footage doesn't have any jerks or shakes at all unless i'm doing rapid head turns. Your neck is a literal gimbal and it shows in the footage!
I think how bad it is is subjective. As a pro videographer, my eyes notice the little shakes and it makes stuff look horrible to me, but half the time my clients don’t even notice 😅
I want these so bad limitations and all but they need to make a bigger size not everybody has a head lol Ray can be a little stingy with head size. The shades that fit me best are the chromance series if they had metas in that size I would have bought these long ago!!
I love the technology, it’s just not quite there yet but saying that like say sorting all the gear out is a real pain, and camera is only 1080p, so as I say it’s not there yet so….it’s staying in the basket for me

When I was curious I found the dirty blue translucent pair, but couldn't order from rayban so I found them and ordered them elsewhere. Then I also got a large in transition which was also hard to find. I hope they both fit, but one of them has to between the medium and large.
The video quality is amazing!! The ai and the music perfection. But the only down fall the battery life is terrible, especially with the newer update. There are times where I’m not even doing anything with them and the battery dies out of nowhere 😵💫
i think you must turn off the ability of the glasses to always be listening for an audio prompt, it stops the glasses from constantly using the microphone and i heard it made battery life double what it was before
I have them and my lens cost 1.5 times the cost of the glasses. I am like you the 1 minute limit is stupid. Went on a trip a few week back and with 72 different videos it is a royal pain and still an editing weeks later. 50/50 on if I would buy them again and the Meta AI is trash and needs work. I plan on doing a video on this too in the near future.
Well if these glasses don't have "Landscape" recording camera view, these glasses are useless to me. This Narrow Portrait view recording sucks for recording videos for me and to spend 300 dollars just to get squashed down videos. Ridiculous. Come on Meta, get your act together and give us Landscape video recording. I am glad I have watched this video to see how bad recording is with it. Take care.

Dude, you can easily change the date in iPhone photos to change where they appear in the your library.

I'm looking to buy an action camera, and the 60 min video limit is a deal breaker, plus no stabilization. I think I'll go for the insta go 3S

The glasses are rated for rain and sweat. Not for swimming or dunking. The case isn't.

There is no display. It doesn't need a display, infact I think it's better to interface with the user via sound.
