I liked you honest opinion, the 32 gigs is not a problem cause you can transfered it to your phone, portrait mode is a must, battery life could be longer, I think for older people and visually impaired people these are a game changer. It is able tell the wearer what they are looking at, or read/translate what they are looking at. I don't think these were intended to be a primary camera, just taking quick snaps and videos, when you can't pull out the phone quick enough. And of course the next iteration will be better, but you got to jump on that train sometime right?
I fully agree with you, there are definitely benefits to having these glasses for sure. I found the most use out of them when I was hanging out with my family and I was able to get some quick shots of us all together.
For use as an insta-camera it is great. I believe the cons you described are valid. Probably a marketing decision to not fix/update the cons. More money to be spent on the next version. Following in Apples footsteps with incremental updates.
It's definitely a trend in the tech industry to prioritize the next big release instead of fully ironing out the kinks in the current generation. Which is highly frustrating to the users that decided to invest in the technology in the first place.
You're crazy. The ai is insanely awesome. Being able to look at anything and get info about it on the spot. Limitless use for that. They even got active live visual ai coming where they'll see what you're looking at actively, not still shot, and answer your questions. Like I'm a mobile patrol security guard. My job is to drive around 40+ properties each night looking for graffiti, vandalism, homeless campsrs etc I'll be able to say "hey meta, I'm doing a security guard patrol around this property. Let me know if you see anything I can report." And it will inform me if it notices a pole light out or anything else . That's just one small off top of my head example. You're insane calling ai gimmicky
Thanks for watching! I believe that the AI is intuitive. I mentioned that other companies tend to throw in AI in their products, and THOSE specific cases are half-baked. However these glasses did a very good job in it's implementation. I didn't deduct points because of the AI though, my problems with these glasses are based off of the design issues with recording limits, video specs, and memory storage.
@rbstudiosphotography oh ok I was kind of busy while watching but just thought I heard you saying everything was good except the ai, ai on it is just a gimmick. My bad lol sorry for being so passionately against ai as a gimmick haha.
It's a real shame the video is only in portrait mode. As a TH-camr, I need landscape orientation. But I think it is because this is a Meta product and Instagram is viewed only in portrait mode while over 80% of FaceBook users only access it via their smartphones.
Honestly the landscape orientation would be a bonus. But I'm still unsure why the portrait orientation is only in 3:4. And this forces you to crop in if you're trying to make an Instagram Reel out of it. It's definitely not a deal breaker, is just a somewhat perplexing design choice.
Thanks for the honest review
Thank you for watching!
great video! showed it perfectly
Glad you liked it!
i just got the glasses and i love them tbh
Enjoy them! They aren't bad at all, there's just some design choices that stop if from being perfect.

I was expecting an asian dude but you're cool too!
Hahaha thank you, I appreciate you for watching lol, and nope no Asian in my heritage
wtf?!
@ the thumbnail threw me off
It should be landscape option on the camera. I use it mostly for the AI features which are pretty good. The translation features are cool.
There should absolutely be an option for landscape. But I think these issues will get ironed out in the next iteration for sure.
