So, I have consistently performed this ritual. Morning, afternoon, and night, with a change of 20-minute rituals in the morning and afternoon, and 40, with variation at night. I've done this for 4 months with perhaps 3 days where I lost the will overall to perform. Since then, my focus has increased, and I'm calmer. I get better sleep, but perhaps if only for the sake of a routine the same way a dog circles before lying down. I don't have a full reason internally for why I'm doing it so frequently, I just know no other spiritual path has made any difference and Magick is the only one aside from psychedelics that has any real promise to me.
I've been consistent for about 4 months. I do LBRP and MP once a day. I have young kids so my days are just too easily interrupted. In addition to these two rituals I usually do at least a little bit if low magic. I've experimented with sigils, and creating thoughtforms. I did a 33 day protection magick ritual too, and also daily do the Sword Banishing Ritual from Damon Brand's book. My experience has led to some trauma perhaps, some stupid ego crap. But on the whole, I find myself consistently motivated to be working on myself. I've come to terms with at least one addiction and am far less anxious, even tempered, and sleep way better. I also, immediately began experiencing frequent synchronicity and have been paying attention to my dreams, which occasionally provide valuable insight.
@SenpaiAustin Personal choice. I prefer long rituals and I'm only a neophyte. I want to get energy ounce of benefit from my practices until I'm ready to be more chill.
You should consider trying other rituals to change your life in a direction you would like to see it go in, eventually you have to get off the porch and enter the temple.
My experience wjth the LBRP is that it has a cumulative affect within the sphere of sensation. The first few weeks performjng it daily DO come with the things described in this video. After several years of performing it -and doing the Work - the state of balance brought by the ritual takes place almost instantly, as if going back to a primed state.
Omg. I can not believe I found you on TH-cam. When I started working with Spirit. Your book. Kabbalah, magic and self transformation- changed my whole life! I am so thankful for you and your works. You are incredible! Many blessings to you and all.
I respectfully 100% disagree. I struggled with bad spiritual attachment for years until I did my research and practice the LBRP. Now I sleep better, spirits rarely intrude my space anymore.. I know there are a lot of youtube people who are trying to be controversial to get more views but from my experience BIG THANK YOU TO THE LBRP.
I don't think he means what you think he means when he says, "things might get worse". It's more like, you will notice the qualities you dislike more, because you have separated yourself more from them. This can lead to a sense of feeling you are "better than" others around you, or even just, "better than yourself". Things in the external will not "get worse". You will just want to separate from disfavorable qualities you once called your own.
This is awesome. I have been hopeful someone would cover this aspect of being educated on the subject before doing rituals- Especially the LBRP- I see TH-cam how to videos on the ritual… but no wisdom or guidance as to its function. Thank You! 💜🕉️☮️
The ego inflation would explain why youtube is littered with good looking 20 something year olds raving about Crowley and sharing every insight they have as fact. It's easy to assume one is farther in the process than they really are. I've been guilty of that many times. Thanks for the video, I am greatly enjoying this series.
My experience with doing the LBRP daily over a period of three years reflects more or less what you described. It was very much an initiatory experience in that I was presented with a challenge in my life that reflected my trauma in some way and I found new ways to cope. Each time I became a more effective person and I have healed so much from the things that once held me back. I have long been in therapy due to bipolar disorder, but practicing daily ritual greatly accelerated my progress in healing my psyche from the damage inflicted on it. It was not a fun process by any means but I was motivated to not continue living my life the way I had been, ways that were not contributing to my well-being. So I kept rising to the challenge and kept trying to improve myself and my outlook on the world. Therapy is absolutely essential to managing ego inflation but I also very much benefited from weekly check-ins with my family where we could discuss any concerns we had with each other and try to work through them. Honest and clear communication, both with others and yourself, can really help you find the life you want to live.
Oh, the random trolling Christians (who don't realize that Christianity is paganism). I used to do the LBRP regularly with mixed effect. I now stay away from it unless I think something is 'coming at me', but overall found it pretty useful
This is gold. The first time I did LBRP, the very second I began the ritual, it frightened me senseless. But i knew it was the leap of faith I needed to take. After the six months of neophyte grade doing it daily, my entire life fell into place. Not to sound cliche, but it balanced every part of my psyche. Don;t know if this has happened to anyone else, but one of the first side effects in the first couple of weeks for me was that I started seeing through everyone's BS, as well as in worldly affairs. Your intuition goes on hyperdrive is the only way to describe it. It has woken up a new frame of mind , I feel like I'm in the flow of MY universe, if that makes sense. Thank you Mr. Christopher
Can confirm. I have experienced most of what is covered in this video: Trauma got worse, “external” circumstances definitely got worse, ego definitely got inflated, and I was definitely an asshole. Not to mention if you stop doing the work (which Lyam explicitly warns against in the curriculum) the experience of feeling trapped in a personal Hell, custom built for oneself becomes almost intolerable. My mental health was absolutely in the toilet sometimes. But when the breakthroughs do come, and they will if you persist, literally nothing else compares. My life and relationships have been upside down way more than once in this work, but when the catharsis and the reconciliation come… I can’t even explain what the experience is like. I have literally found myself feeling so whole that I would be laughing and crying at the same time for 5 or 10 minutes straight. Realizations can flood in any moment that alter the trajectory of your life, and then, it all seems perfect; everything that had to happen to bring you to that moment. I still have plenty to do, but I have come a long way. I wish the best to anyone who takes up this path. It can feel impossible at times, but there’s nothing more rewarding, and if you try to stop, nothing else will compare anymore. You can’t go back. Take the warnings seriously. They’re absolutely true. Magic is not what it appears to be.
So stopping is not the way to go. ? Even though I think of myself as a light weight in the magic world, I thought this all would become better for my life. But now I struggle my body's breaking down physically. Don't know which way to go period. It's an aging process but nonetheless it's very challenging the go on in life. I know I was going to develop better with magic, but it's very light weight at this moment. I cannot say it's all that's successful. Thought that was the hard part. Practicing in order to have some true magic happen. In my life, I'm after having a smoother better. Fulfilling life not trying to take over nothing..... I haven't become that a****** because I haven't had success to speak of .
Finally someone talking sense about the LBRP. So refreshing to hear this as opposed to most of the other stuff we hear on TH-cam about it. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Wow, im speechless, been asking myslef why on earth nobody would talk about this intense process in the begginings, JMG address part of the issue in his book, the obsessive thought and offers a exorcism ritual etc., Israel regardie dedicates a line or two, some practitioners even dimiss the idea as a nonsense. i've been practicing none stop over the past year with feeling that i might got myself cancer because some random idea while meditating, i was worried but kept my practices but, BUT couldn't understand why no one was giving i dont know, more than just a paragraph and thinking, oh maybe its just some hidden knowledge that i must figure out by my self, its just a 'test'. Now i can see thanks to you, it is a mix of all of that, and it is hard. solitaire practicing can be reaallyy lonley so i thank you from my heart.
A video going over the way initiation works in your book, as opposed to that of a more traditional lodge initiation may also be a good topic for a future video.
I really like this short video format. Something i would be interested in hearing you talk about more about is habitual projection, distraction, and generally how to keep your attention centered and not get lost in the sauce.
If I understand you, the LBRP pushes out our imbalances, our psychic garbage and creates a more balanced space. This in turn creates a heightened awareness of our sphere of sensation which allows us to observe all these forces as they arise through our daily frictions from things beyond our circle, giving form to what was merely taking hold of us and possessing us in an automatic and haphazard manner. Am I understanding this rightly?
Yes. The only thing I would question is the tendency to refer to the phenomena of the psyche as garbage. It's as though a beautiful woman is sharing her dreams with you and you refer to her dreams as garbage. That dismissive, garbage-perceiving tendency is, itself, a spirit that is seeking some kind of resolution. Would be worthwhile to dialogue with it.
For two and a half years, I have been practice lbr. I feel balanced in everything I do. I sleep very well. I feel focused and more intelligent than I used to be.
I understand what you are trying to say, but understand why some people might misinterpret it. In my experience the LBRP doesn't usually "make things worse" externally. If anything, just by itself, the LBRP actually can bring peace and ease to the mind. Doing the full neophyte ritual group you suggest might bring "disruptions", as the middle pillar can invoke something akin to a Kundalini awakening... since it also builds the light body. This can certainly have some disturbing effects on the average person. The meditation upon the point may also have disturbing effects on the psyche because it examines the nature of existence. All things to be aware of. I believe originally, an aspirant was to ONLY do the LBRP for a good while before they engaged in anything else, and let us remember that the MP was an invention of Regardie as a way to bring light into the sephira the same way one might also with the main chakras. You could theoretically do either as an attempt to accomplish the same goals. I do not consider it a "grounding" exercise as some have suggested though. In my opinion, anything that deals with magick, is anything but grounding.
A few days ago I decided to start doing the LBRP more consistently. The very day I did, anxiety and panic attacks resurfaced. So I’ve decided to stop doing it. I’m sure it could be beneficial to deal with it somehow, but I have no teacher and can’t afford to deal with this now. Thank you for the video!
I’ve been practicing for the LBRP somewhat inconsistently for the past few months but it’s only recently that I’ve been doing it more that I’ve been feeling the hard affects from it. It’s hard to be around other people because of how strong my ego has become. I’ve felt kinda crazy because of it and I was definitely not warned properly about its effects so I’m really grateful I saw this video. Thank you for sharing your wisdom 💜
This 1000% resonates with my experience performing the LBRP daily for the better part of the last decade. I wish I had known this was what was happening when I was first starting, but then again, maybe knowing would have gotten in the way of the growth. With this perspective in mind, what happens during the lesser LIRP? Knowing this would mean a lot to me, as I still have trouble putting into words what happened after i started invoking in the morning and banishing during my evening ritual (as is often suggested).
The student invokes earth in the Earth grade (Zelator). The effect, after having banished earth for so long. can make you feel intimate with the world. The imaginary barrier between body and nature dissolves in little glimpses. That being said, the very act of drawing a magic circle reinforces the idea of separation, so progress is still possible when one adopts the "invoke in the morning and banish in the evening" system. If that system was truly developed by initiates, it would be interesting to see the curriculum that was built up around it. Not sure what it would be based on.
I've been a practicing occultist for years, dabbled in many things here and there - jack of all trades, master of none kind of deal. However, recently, I've been feeling the pull to practice and learn about Thelema more closely. So, one practice I've begun (more seriously) is doing the LBRP, and at times followed by the LIRP. This time around with the LBRP, I've had some powerful experiences with Archangel Raphael, one of which was a very vivid dream. The dream sent me down a path of learning more about this Archangel. And the dream, without going into detail (unless you're curious about it, then I'll type it out in a comment), explored almost exactly what you described in this video, with the evil forces. It was a very striking, memorable dream - and most of the time I have a hard time recalling dreams. The LBRP is an important ritual within occultism for a reason. I 100% agree.
Hi, regarding the curriculum, why is there no mention of the Invoking (LIRP) ritual? Particularly in the Neophyte grade. In other self-initiation books, we are being told to invoke in the morning and banish in the evening. When should we start invoking?
Elemental and planetary invocations are prescribed in the elemental grades. But it would be better to say that the student doesn't invoke anything deliberately until adeptship. Not that it is forbidden. More than likely, it simply isn't possible.
@@lyamchristopher2393 After finding your online content, the videos here and the forbidden realms articles, the lesser pentagrams have started to appear like a symbol of a road stretching out to the horizon (the triangle shape the two center lines make being the sides of this road). Would it be accurate to say the banishing pushes spirits down the road where they can be observed, and the lesser invoking pentagram would bring spirits that are already outside in view where they can be observed? If that's the case, it would follow that the reason the LIRP may not work for an outer order practitioner is because their field of awareness is already overcrowded with spirits that need to be confronted and dissolved to make room to see invokable spirits.
@@bw3372 Both rituals tend to reinforce the duality of self and other, so both will tend to have the same effect of increasing objectve awareness of the elemental or zodiacal force. Theoretically, though, invoking pentagrams invite the elemental or zodiacal forces to arise in your own body/mind/persona. And in that case they would be less visible. You'd just notice their impact on you as their tendencies arise in your behavior.
After a year of practicing magick, i can proudly say it definitely does benefit your life. I have diagnosed borderline personality disorder and my emotional world is easier to experience when i perform the lbrp. Pentagrams are astral beacons though, when you do work like the lirp or lbrp both light up the astral inviting “demons” in. Events come to you in your life faster that bring upon journeys to overcome your karma faster than normal. It can bring upon really difficult experiences very quickly. It is essential to always try to understand yourself in all capacities, as well as practice purely protective rituals. If i could relearn magick, i would learn the rose cross as my first ritual and then learn how to perform elemental magick. You will be tested internally and externally in reality and it can definitely be difficult. Just practicing the kabbalistic cross and rose cross help me during those times when I know I shouldn’t be doing pentagram work because I have to better myself on the current tests.
That's really interesting. I often wonder whether Poe was onto something big when the psychopathic narrator in "The Telltale Heart" hallucinates the heartbeat of his victim. It's as though the empathy was trying to break through the only way it could--through an externalized projection.
Thank you very much for this information, as its something not really put out there. I must say my experience with heavy practice of the lbrp led to some bizzarre, multifaceted results. Strange hypnogogic encounters, extremely bizzarre and frequent closed eye visuals, and also the smoothing out of various troubled waters in my life. I appreciate your validation of these things, as it will make me better prepared for the next time im able to enter heavy practice again.
The “benefit” of the work does not necessarily involve hypnotic states. More the opposite. Instead, you wake up from the mass hypnosis of a humanity that’s mostly lost inside a dream. Dreaming while awake, taking the dream happenings literally.
@lyamchristopher2393 that's all well and good, but I've come to experience that this type of awakening of which you speak is a very gradual process, like an artistic unfolding. I just refer to my bizarre hypnogogic experiences because of their concurrent and startling nature.
Blown away to see you on here. Instantly subscribed! I am battling to get off a prescription drug I have been on for years, (hard to admit in your comment section) it's been a slow process but continue LBRP daily. As soon as I return to balance I plan on working back through the elemental initiations in your book," Kabbalah and the Great Work of self-transformation" . I feel strongly pulled toward the work still to this day and hope that once I am clean off the medication I can return to the elemental initiations and the work will open for me. I wonder if there are others who have been in my situation to have a medication delay this type of practice and path. If you have any advice for me I would be grateful to hear it and if not I am simply grateful to have found you on my TH-cam !
OMG I have seen dozens of videos on the LBRP and performed it off and on for 3 or 4 years now. When I say off and on I mean I do it religiously ( LOL) for months or more. The I have had a couple of 6 months breaks........................I have never heard it described they way you just did Lyam, but you make so much sense. As Damien Echols always says, be careful what you do as Magick really dies work !! .. Thank you so much.
Great stuff.when I started 10years ago It gave me an inner sense of calm Ive never known but my life was turned upside down. The warning is prudent. So either quit in neophyte or push on.
Agreed. Personally, I'm struggling to gather the momentum to move past this plateau/rut where I've set up camp as of late. Stumbling across such clear and concise wisdom as well as the like-minded folks in the comments section is much needed encouragement. Much gratitude for the opportunity to receive this knowledge.
💯 the rut has been too long. For me its almost like the feeling of you've seen enough beyond the veil and have become disenchanted with being a player in the worlds game of life. I'll take this new channel and community, as a sign of new insight/wisdom to keep going through to clarity.@@Miles757
That’s true for people who met or even “worked” with demonic forces and made any kind of spells or even they have a Pact with a demon ( first they MUST solve the Pact! ). Otherwise a good guy who has always been an home-Church guy should be able to perform Golden Dawn ritual without big problems.
I've recently made the Shewbread as well as the Candlestick, the projects from Zelator. Before that I took the time to make Poke Runyon's Master Mandala. The Sri Yantra has also been really popping up lately and I've been wanting to that too. I've had a nice syncronicity just now at 7:29. Put a smile on my face :)
That's a lot of food for thought, thanks for sharing. These videos are great, I ordered your book after finding these and can't wait to jump in once I finish the Modern Magick curriculum. Do you ever take students online? Or do think that would even work? I'd love to find a Golden Dawn temple near me but the only thing around is OTO.
I believe if you think your get bad luck you will. it works the other way also it amplifies your intentions I was getting some negative affects I had a word with my higher self and the negativity went away simple
This is so interesting. Thank you for this. I’ve been doing the neophyte rituals for 2 years, and I’m a therapist. Almost every person I’ve worked with has reflected some aspect of my consciousness that I needed to give compassion and empathy toward to heal. I’m realizing how mutually beneficial it has been working with people while engaged in these rituals. But not gonna lie- I am concerned about becoming an asshole. LOL. Meeting too many asshole ceremonial magicians made me wanna quit for a while 😂 and I was an asshole for the first 4-6 months of practicing honestly.
I'm becoming increasingly interested in the intersection of the esoteric and psychotherapy. Struggling to reconcile my various interests but I know I'm in the right ballpark. Would love to hear more about how your spiritual practice has affected your life and work as a therapist.
@@Miles757 Carl Jung’s work is a great resource for finding more overlap. I suspect Carl Jung practiced magick himself- he may have been an adept, I’m not sure. At the very least he studied a lot about it. Therapy and magick’s overlap -in my perspective- is that we are making the unconscious conscious for the purpose of alchemy, or change for the better, in our personal lives. I started practicing the neophyte rituals prior to becoming a practicing therapist, so I’m not sure what it would be like to be a therapist without doing the LBRP and MP every day… but I suspect I would NOT be handling things as well as I am now. LOL. I do not tell my clients I practice magick because it’s personal to me, but I think if I stopped they would notice something was off 😂 I feel like it stabilizes my moods and helps me to be more present with each person I work with. And I notice TONS of synchronicities between what my clients come to me with in their life, and what I’m working through or have worked through in my own life. It’s been super interesting.
@Livfree33 Interesting comment on the overlap of magic and therapy. Making the unconscious conscious in order to change for the better. Others have pointed out the difference between wisdom magic in service of the divine and the delusional twelve year old boy magic popularized by certain celebrity figures who need not be named. Also, there are warnings about certain books containing symbols and concepts that introduce the reader to the deep parts of themselves, but rather than being changed for good, the reader is engulfed by the depth. This could occur even despite the best intentions of the author of such a work. Certainly, magic can aid therapists, and magicians can benefit from therapy. Especially the solitary practitioner. Thanks for sharing!
@Livfree33 BTW, my studies of magic and mysticism have proven quite enlightening, but recently started to transition into philosophy and psychoanalysis. I consider the work of Doctors Iain McGilchrist, Stephen Porges, Allen Schore, and Dan Siegel to be truly magical. Honestly, no idea where I would be if not for these individuals.
@@Miles757I love Dan Siegel’s work too!! I use him a lot because a lot (but not all) of my clients are kids. The Whole Brain Child is one of my fave book recommendations for parents! I could do more to look into the other names you mentioned. And yes, there are definitely ways to get lost on the magickal path. I have almost abandoned this path a number of times because it’s scary how many pitfalls & trip ups there can be. Last night in my dreams I’m pretty sure I had a powerful interaction with the “invisible” sphere of Da’ath that scared the shit out of me. LOL. Hard to describe what happened but I actually woke up with more peace in my heart over all the things I have ZERO control over. And then today I received some really amazing news over something I had been so worried about. It really lifted my spirits.
ty ty ty brotha. Thank for your description and explanation. i KNOW i must Face this. experience. But i had No knowledge or clue where to begin until recently
Seeing OTHERS. Comments... I know, with Self- introspection, being able to derive the inner into a form that is manageable is key, and it can compress back to where it belongs. THIS is SAME thing , yes ?
being Able to see from An alterprespective. Or 3rd person view(4TH n 5thD at this point. Lol ) . Solve or. Resolve the issue, then nearly let it fold back up and back into the vault. ? With out the OCD barking. ? Am I understanding correctly with my ideology,?
Mr Christopher Lyam, sir, I've realized I've not properly sat down to take in and listen first while I had been too busy ranting and raving off on a tangent on your other episodes on this very topic, as well as do the saem for your episode on the Hexagram Ritual! Pardon my misplaced uncalled for ire. I hope this takes me down the path of betterment in "seeking first to understand, than to be understood."
So just to clarify, are the "demons" or "entities" you mentioned in the begining of this video, the same as the forces within you that you must deal with that you talk about in the latter part? Ive been following the curriculum for maybe the past 5 or so years and I've yet to experience anything that feels external. However, everything else you talk about, I can relate to 100%. Internal demons that you must make peace with, unsettling experiences because of facing the reality of the work we must do on ourself and how difficult it can be, exageration of these forces and the ego, etc. I appreciate these videos very much, and I can't express with words how thankful I am for this journey. I couldn't imagine where I'd be if it wasn't for your book, you have my deepest gratitude. 🙏 Thank You.
You are being spared the pathological manifestations of demons-which would have them arising as external hallucinations. This may be because you are facing down your feelings of affrontedness before they get strong enough to become dream entities. To refer to demons with any kind of label-“external,” “hallucination,” “entity,” “real,” “unreal,”-none of these labels is ever quite accurate. The very notion of facing an enemy is itself a delusional scenario, even in the physical reality of normal, waking-world consciousness. We can wink at the seeming otherness of whatever we’re looking at, playing along with its arisen drama, and still we might sense the underlying truth behind it-that there is no “other” out there. And more importantly, there is no self, except for the self that only seems to come into existence to confront the illusion of the “other.”
@lyamchristopher2393 Hmm, fascinating! I think I follow you, I would liken this as the beast of Joseph Campbell's The Hero's Journey. Discovering that your "enemy" is but a shadow of "yourself," or how the outer ring of a toroid appears as separate to the perspective from the inside, the illusion of duality.
I've been on and off my daily LBRP and MPR practice for a few years. Most unbearable side effect of my LBRP practice is a mixture of depression and apathy. Loss of motivation to participate in mundane, earthly life. Everytime I take on daily LBRP routine I lose interest in my everyday earthly duties, and I only want to dabble in internal emotional, and intellectual stuff. I become more antisocial and unreliable. MPR, on the other hand, seems to alleviate these tendencies, as it makes me more alive, energetic and sometimes ecstatic. Most of my astrolgical placements are water and air, with only hints of fire and earth. Can LBRP make me become even more unbalanced by banishing my already low amount of fire and earth energy?
I can only guess, but I imagine that your retreat from "the world" results from avoiding the confrontation with it. The confrontation that is brought on by the LBRP. I'd suggest redefining the LBRP as a strengthener of the duality between you and the world, potentially INCREASING your engagement with it. The tricky part is to notice what's making you retreat. Go after that. Look at it. Engage with it. Challenge your fears and discomforts. This is why we journal.
@@nietwojinteres7278ignore his terrible advice and look up Nick Farrell’s essay on the LBRP. Switch to the invoking form daily instead as was done by the original Golden Dawn.
Your exegesis on the nature of the LBRP brought up some thoughts on what’s happening Qabalistically. I find that tying Qabalistic labels to real-world experience is vital for noobs such as myself so I thought I’d share my little aha’s I had while watching this video in case they can benefit anyone else. My understanding is that the Archangelic forms the practitioner builds out in Yetzirah are, if all goes well, having Briatic intelligence evoked into them. This infringes upon Kether of Assiah, manifesting Briatic Intelligence at the fringes of what constitutes the physical world, imbuing the aura with Divine influence. The ocean of Mind in Bria mingles with the chaotic whirlpool of the Nephesch, calming the noise, and bringing the most egregious disturbances to light. So I suppose this would be the gift of the elemental Archangels. They manifest, or rather, point the aspirant toward the magically inimical elements of their internal and external world so that they may be given an opportunity to address the siphons of magical energy that are keeping Briatic reality from manifesting in Malkuth. The Archangels protect you by teaching you how to protect yourself from your karma. They act as intuitional boons. This is only my understanding as it exists now.
Thought you were going to come with a new version of the ritual at the end, I wonder what are your thoughts on Crowley’s later version (star Ruby? The one that goes pro mou yunges etc)
What is the correct pronunciation/writing for the kabalistic cross and lbrp? I noticed people write it differently in different books and videos. ATOH vs Ateh in golden dawn, VAHGADULAH vs ve-Gedulah in golden dawn. Does it matter that they are different?
I'm no expert on Hebrew, but I do believe the variations result from dialects. The pronunciations I use are from my teachers--who were also not experts in Hebrew.
@@lyamchristopher2393 Ok that makes sense. I suppose it wouldn't make a difference then in the process of doing the rituals wether it's one or the other 🙂 it was more for my own understanding to know if I am doing things correctly. Thank you for the explanation 🙌🏻
I'm also into non-dualism, and I also have lived experience of several stages you mentioned. I would also personally add an anamistic lense. As well as layers like the four Archangels being part of folk charms, and they go all the way back to Babylon.
@@lyamchristopher2393 It's how Scott Stenwick considers the lesser rituals to work. I've seen some agree some disagree. I can see the reasoning for both sides but I'm unsure. He talks about it here ananael.blogspot.com/2018/03/microcosmic-versus-macrocosmic-rituals.html
I bought the book and started reading before discovering your channel. I am concerned about your warning when performing the LBRP. I have had some hard times in my past that I finally overcame. I am on stable footing financially and have healed my family ties, but do not want that to be put at risk by starting this ritual. I understand that this is an ego attachment, but it feels like I already dealt with and learned from those challenges and do not want to repeat them. How can I proceed after hearing such a warning? It makes me wish I had started this process back when I had nothing to lose.
That is a valid concern. The key lies within your powers of discrimination. As integrity develops, your means of maintaining your current lifestyle might become distasteful to you. As a result, you might abandon corrupt ways of making wealth. However, your appreciation for irony might also increase, and you may yet be able to continue of as you were, and learn to laugh at the apparent hypocrisy of being a human being. The ability to let go of unrealisitic notions of perfection will be put to the test. Does enlightenment make you into a "good person"? Not necessarily. That's not required!
@@lyamchristopher2393 thank you for that insightful response! Thank you again for your book and making these videos. I just finished listening to tonight’s video on lucid dreaming part 3. I’m really enjoying this series, but haven’t had much luck remembering my dreams yet (even with 6 times daily dream reminders). It is interesting you should write that my means of affording my lifestyle might change as my integrity develops, as I am actually wrestling with that issue at present. I decided to become fully celibate almost a year ago, and have found myself increasingly dissatisfied with my job during this journey. My seeking for greater fulfillment actually led me to purchase your book. This seems to be a strong sign that I must continue to press forward. I was hoping that magic might reignite my creative side that has atrophied in adulthood, that I might find my calling. I shall begin the LBRP and continue the work tomorrow.
@lyamchristopher2393 The Ra material seems to break it down into polarity regarding enlightenment. That enlightenment can happen through service to self or service to others' mindset. To reach "enlightenment " but not be a "good person" would be the left-hand path of control and domination over others as opposed to the positive path of love and acceptance. Is this what you meant by " not a good person"? Understanding in the big picture there is no "good or bad" but a positive being would springboard from the heart where as a negative would from the solar plexus.
Exactly!!! I love your teachings!! Very helpful. The LBRP changed my life. To me, the LBRP has the same affects as prayer - increasing our vibration naturally causes the negative energies in our lives to flare up and show us what and where our work is. Thank you!!! 🤍🤍🤍🙏🏾
I feel the LBRP is a purge in a way. It brings stuff out, it can result in a long DNS. For some reason my cat used to run away when I started the ritual sometimes the cat will seat on the couch but for the most part it will rather leave and I kind of wondered about it.
Thank you so much for your unique way of presenting magick as should be presented in a mere simple scientific way and for replying to the questions. i wanted to ask you several questions I heared that if you do the LBRP you should do the LIRP as frequentaly to balance the effects? is that correct I have read many books of magick in Cicero book Self Initiation of Golden Dawn Tradition, the first thing recommended is to do miditaion to the Godforn of Thme " which is designed to open a working dialogue between the aspiring student and the archetypal part of the candidate's mind symbolized by the godform of Thme". Do you recommend doing it? is it risky? when you do the great work with all its stages, you are not influenced by astral intelligent entities ? such as anciet gods . is it all inside your mind process or you build any connection with external intelligent entities? the gods or words of power like Ra is something in our DNA? Thaank you I would be gratful if you respond.

@@lyamchristopher2393 Thanks for your patience, and i really appreciate it 1- When you do the rituals of the Great Work with all its grades, do you connect or be influenced by external entitities like spirits which some of them are intelligent? for example does the curuculim of the great work invoke any demon or angel that affect you to achieve the great work or its all inside our mind our psyche? the Egyptian Gods like Ra which you hail in the first steps of the great work? what are they? Idols? do they like or dislike a magican for example? if you recommend a book that helped you with your journey of magick besides your book i would really be grateful. Thank you so much
Actually I would recommend taking a literature class and notice how the literary devices work. Particularly, personification. That will help you see gods, spirits, and demons as they truly are. @@BlueAnchovy
First off I apologize for the length of this post. I know you have better things to do than read an essay on the effects of LBRP from a non initiate. I say this with all sincerity. Ok so I'm trying to wrap my head around some things that you've said & while I agree with much of it, some of it is not in accord with my experience. It's been two days since I last posted a response to this video & I would like to share my experience, a little background first. I started out with Kraig's Modern Magick like many other people did & truthfully, I did little more than than the LBRP & sometimes the MP. I started off sporadically and over time I got to where I was doing it just about every day & that's about where it stayed for a long period of time, years even. The first thing I really noticed as a change in my life was that things actually got better not worse as you stated. Things went smoother, things would go my way, & I was actually happier. I didn't make any modifications to it & performed it exactly as given in MM. The more I performed it the closer I felt to "God", the Supreme Intelligence, or whatever nomenclature you wish to give it. At first I was interested in power but as I started to experience more of a sense of holiness, that shifted to simply wanting to be in the presence of the divine. I did get very weird phenomena, some, like the strange seemingly "blacklight" effect I had above my head were a constant while others like little flashes of light in orange, blue, or yellow would sporadically happen. I even saw one of the pentagrams "flash" into existence briefly & that one startled me. Several times when doing the vibratory formula I would hear my voice echo off into what seemed to be infinity. Some times there would be strange gusts of air blowing through the room when there was no source for air currents that would cause the candles to flicker violently for a moment. And no it wasn't my movement that caused those air currents because the candles would be across the room & I did not move fast. Most times it would take about 20 minutes or more to complete the rite. I digress though. To be completely forthright & honest, I did encounter situations from time to time that really tested me, some of them were doozies but these were with people that seemed to be cultists from either fundamentalist churches or in one case a guy claiming he was from the Ashtar command. I'm now asking myself, "were these aspects of my trauma welling up as you suggest or were these liars who were manipulating people that I was made to engage with to bring light to the situation". Maybe you're right, maybe they were personifications of my trauma working themselves out that I had to confront, it seems very plausible. But you made it seem like the practitioner was beset with "demons" all around them causing pain & suffering in their life at every moment. If so this was not my experience, I felt far more balanced, more at peace, & things went much smoother. I would occasionally stop practicing for a few days just to analyze what would happen & every time things would get worse. In fact, the outward effects of the ritual would seem to wear off within 24 hours & within 36 hours my "luck" would begin to turn. I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter & once again I apologize for the length of this.
One of the challenges in understanding the LBRP involves the ability to see beyond Aleister Crowley's clunky cause-and-effect definition of magic. Does the will use the ritual (like a hammer) to produce some kind of desired effect? Or does the will wield the ritual to produce a change in consciousness which then, in turn, manifests some kind of result? Remember that we do daily ritual to restructure the psyche--and that the idea of a magical circle of protection is just a ruse. Erecting imaginal barriers to firm up the boundaries of the persona will make the ego more comfortable...for a while. Eventually, however, the monsters begin to come out of the woodwork. The stronger the ego, the more pronounced the monsters "outside" of it. The person's manifestation stream begins to erupt with challenges--not in a causal way, but in an a-causal kind of way. It has been said that if the average person could see, all at once, the full extent of the demons surrounding the self (frightful scenarios embedded in his cell memory), they would die instantly from shock. A student can loudly proclaim that his demons are already subdued and "no big deal"...while the adept can hear within that very proclamation the voice of a demon. The demon of "This causes that."
Interesting! I actually suffer from DP/DR which is trauma based so I got concerned hearing you say that it worsens trauma... But if it has benefits by bringing things out then that's really good, one way that I was told helps trauma is to actually experience emotions and release trapped tension, if this ritual helps bring things out from deep within you and makes you face them then I'm all in (even if it's not fun at first)
How interesting! Could be an advantage. Much like being an addict can become an advantage, giving us hardcore taste of human suffering so we can see it more clearly.
Thanks for sharing. *Traditionally*, I believe a student is asked to invoke in morning and banish in the evening. If the LBRP purifies, what does the LIRP… or the «invoking of the powers of earth» do?
Invoking is normally done in the elemental grades. Invoking earth in Zelator. Invoking air in Theoricus. Etc. I can also see how invoking earth in the morning is something an adept might do for a particular reason. For example, earth is fairly weak in my birth chart, so invoking earth can benefit me greatly.
@@lyamchristopher2393 Sure. But you aren’t actually invoking earth, or are you… Does it even matter what you’re doing in the circle? Isn’t some of the breakthrough itself just from setting the intention to do the ritual?
What about the rose cross ritual? What is it supposed to do? When I found it I gasped because it looks terribly like a banishing/protection ritual I though I had made up and that I used to banish and seal the house 😮
I've been following your curriculum for a couple of years now, and I am currently in the water grade. A lot of these esoteric experiences you mention in your videos either don't seem to manifest externally, or I have yet to notice anything major occurring in my life. I feel emotionally stronger, more confident and more aware of my surroundings, but nothing I would describe as dramatic as inner traumas manifesting. Am I just a late bloomer? 😅
Most of the transformation happens unconsciously. And there are two possibilities here. You are keeping up with your journaling and self-observation so well that you are too clear-minded to allow "hallucinations" to arise and "come knocking." Or you are not doing the work very intensely--as in "Inflame thyself with prayer"--and the magic isn't doing anything. Do you have nightmares? Seldom? Often?
@@lyamchristopher2393 I would say I have nightmares maybe once a week, or once every other week. I'm not sure how regular nightmares are supposed to be. Perhaps I need to fire myself up more for my rituals, I feel the rituals aren't usually intense, but more therapeutic almost? I do try to put emphases on my voice and visualizations, but it's been difficult to conjure a feeling of intensity everyday. Regardless, I do believe the magick is having some kind of positive effect, because I feel better after every ritual session.
@@UmadBrotoss This is delicate ground here. Start observing the focus on getting a positive effect from rituals. Pretend you are doing the rituals for no reason at all. That need for a positive effect is interesting. Observe it dispassionately. In journal writing, you might even want to invite it to take on some kind of form. Some kind of creature that needs to feed, to control, to fend off enemies? I cannot speak for everyone, but nightmares eventually go away. I spent about ten years in the Outer Order work. By the time I was through it, nightmares had become a thing of the past. "Bad" things can still happen in dreams, but they now serve as dream signs, causing me to become lucid or semi-lucid. I either take control of the dream or simply wake up from it. This same kind of waking up can happen in your waking life too. You can observe a compulsive need to extract benefit from rituals and then wake up from it. As you can see, there is an aspect to this work that has not arisen for you yet. My next video will discuss this "wake-up" phenomenon in more frightening detail. Probably. We'll see. You can also arrange a consultation with me.
@@lyamchristopher2393 I really appreciate your guidance. I'll go ahead and integrate this into my practice and see what kind of results manifest over the next few months. I'll also be sure to check out your future videos. Out of curiosity, what do you charge for consultations?
You're not alone. It seems to be the nature of our existence to feel estranged from various forms of "negativity." By negativity I mean the condition of being "against" things. Magic involves riding upon these energies (without being dragged around by them) as they present themselves. Allowing these energies to speak. You might try creating various personas to dialogue with in your magical diary. For example, allow the feel of competitiveness to assume the form of an alpha-male gorilla (who can talk). Allow it to posture itself above everything, beat its chest, etc. Ask it three questions (giving it plenty of time to speak). 1. What do you want? 2. What do you really need? 3. How will you feel when you get what you really need? Even if you feel that you are "making up" its answers for it, this doesn't really matter. The answers still arise, in part, from it.
@@lyamchristopher2393I'm gaining a lot of perspective from your videos. You explain things so well. Thank you for that. Do you have any thoughts on using the practice of Chod, as presented by Tsultrim Allione in her book "Feeding Your Demons", to work with these "demons" as they arise from practicing rituals like the LBRP? It would seem undertaking some form of psychotherapy as suggested by Israel Regardie would also be fruitful for the same reason, but given how expensive it can be that's not always accessible for everyone (myself included).
thank you for sharing the actual explanation / delivering the goods. the separation..and the ego inflation. this along with your Hexagram video blew my mind 🤯 love your channel Lyam lets gooooooo
Yes can confirm, this can be a very hard process. You soon notice stuff coming up, it does work and you do feel better but soon stuff can start going wrong! Is there anything you can advise to make peace? Shadow work?
The journaling is the traditional way of processing the stuff that comes up. However, it might be worthwhile to learn how to do that. Do some therapy or read about journaling as a means for making peace with demons.
@@lyamchristopher2393 great, I also do shadow work, I’ve also noticed at work there’s now conflict coming up with colleagues and I don’t know it seems connected to the LBRP and whenever I look at the time it’s a balancing number, 13:13 etc, I feel it’s all connected personally. Basically the LBRP is more powerful than you might think so be ready, but better out than in!
Oh and also I would also warn other to be very careful, you will definitely experience ego inflation, this will also not a be a good thing initially and you will come across like a dick. Eventually you learn to ground all of that, visualising myself getting slightly smaller so that I’m in my body help (sometimes having an inflated can make us feel good but it’s not healthy so watch out!) eventually you feel more robust as a person though and the things that used to bother you don’t anymore and you feel more balanced and able to deal with life so obviously I’m not looking back and will continue with it at a slower pace.
Clearing your own thought forms and negative psychological processes out from your auric field (of energy and consciousness) is how I look at it. You are disturbing the field and dealing with those things.
Yes, a bit like plowing the fields after having allowed them to lay fallow providing food for wild beasts. It is hard work and some creatures will not give up their acquired territory without some fight.
2:35 that is exactly what I am feeling at different times of the day. I feel as there is a legion of black mass around me constantly morphig as if one of the beasts will pop out and charge me. But they know better. I am not afraid I know whats happening. Now whats interesting is: I have sense of peace and calm after performing the LBRP and including the Middle Pillar ritual. I think before I got into this world Ive been to therapry and I have experienced ego deaths. Mostly self inflicted. Now I am not 100% there its a slow process. So I feel the ritual is doing what you said is happening. I will say I do not feel ego inflated which is refreshing, but I do have egotistical thoughts recently which I reject. I refuse to allow my ego to gain control. Non-negotiable. So that has been a struggle more of an annoyance. Im doing this twice a day and it is interesting I feel at night is when the demonic frequency pops up and theyre watching, but I perform the LBRP in the dark under thr night sky and the feelings go away. Thank you for this video that definitely cleared up some confusion and the philosophy behind this is fascinating!
The subconscious can be seen as an entity herself. Doing daily ritual pays attention to her and makes her feel appreciated. Much of the modern world pretends that she does not exist--which naturally makes her into a spiteful Tiamat-like beast. When we do the LRRP, we are acknowledging her and inviting her to display herself to us. That display is filled with demons and angels and so on, but the entire production of it, taken as a whole, is a joy. It's okay when the ego targets itself as a threat. That targeting and wrestling of ego with ego, as should be obvious, cannot work. But eventually we can sense what is happening and laugh off both ends of the ego and let it go.
@lyamchristopher2393 thank you for the thoughtful reply! It's funny you said, "paying attention to her" first I thought of the Jungian Anima which is interesting then I realized this emotion. So when I first started I was not very disciplined and not consistent. I began to be consistent and when I started the LBRP I felt like I was experiencing the emotion of a furstrated wife "where the hell have you been?!". Now I understand why I felt that and now it feels as a sense of calm and intimacy (not arousal) when the rituals are ended. I experience a lot of chatter in my head all day and post LBRP and MPR the chatter is quiet. It's all very fascinating! Ill have to think about ego attacking ego. Maybe I need to go back to the drawing board and think about that. Thank you replying I really respect your work and the time you put into your channel!
Dear Lyam, Kind thanks for this highly informative video; found it very helpful in understanding. If I may ask: having started the syllabus, I found out early enough that I am not in a position to commit to the dedication and detail required to the end (beginning?). Is it safe to continue some rituals, such as the LBRP and the MP, as personal practice, even without the intention of carrying the rituals found in higher grades? What if they are performed 'mentally', are they effective? This has been on my mind for a while, as while admitting to the appreciation of the ceremonial aspect, I can't shake the feeling off that in general, elaborate ceremony was never for myself. Kind thanks again. Blessings. R
The path of Hermeticism involves engaging with imagination--hence the elaborate ritualism and journaling, as well as the art projects. However, there are different levels of imagination: auditory (storytelling), literal, and abstract. You might simply gravitate more to the abstract. That is powerful, but it it also brings a great deal of potential suffering. When the abstract mind of categories and associations gets tangled up with the more literal levels of perception, ignorance and suffering results. The task, then, is to untangle the abstract from the literal (the subtle from the gross). Once you know this, it is up to you to find a way to do this. If you do not find a way, a way will still come to you, but not in a pleasant way. Reality will simply keep troubling you until you engage with it meaningfully. Deciding that you don't like imagination amounts to saying that you don't like you're own psyche (a common problem). You could practice a bare-bones form of magic, sure--or take up Zen. Either of those, practiced sincerely under the guidance of a teacher will lead to a means of engaging with imagination more consciously. Hopefully in a way that is not too painful or scary.
@@lyamchristopher2393 Your reply has been deeply relatable. I do gravitate towards the abstract in more than one sense, and it has caused significant challenges which, I feel - perhaps mistakenly, many would find unrelatable. Sometimes, it also feels like I'm being guided and 'initiated' by reality itself, pressed unto little 'deaths' and 'rebirths' by mire situations, the occasional cosmic joke or the out-there trauma and the absurd itself. Sometimes, the only reasonable reaction would be to laugh it off. The internal changes are however quite profound. This leads me to relate deeply to what you mentioned in your other video concerning Authenticity and Tiphareth. It seems close, clear and reachable, yet with considerable noise along the way. I will allow the imagination in its various forms to lead the way. With gratitude for your valuable time.
As someone who believes and practices manifestation as a lifestyle, you know vibrating and meditating, will the LBRP interfere with my manifestations? I do understand that the LBRP it's like a purge of ourselves but I have also been hearing a lot that if you sign up to vibrate along with the universal frequency, you become an object of other purposes and your aura crystalizes, thus making really difficult to vibrate to the things you'll like to see on the 3D. So, yeah, will the LBRP be an impediment to manifestation? And Is it really necessary to do other things that tend to come along like the middle pillar? I'm just really attracted to the LBRP and I really can't find this material in Spanish. Thank you (:
I'm not quite sure what you're asking. The LBRP really is part of a Golden Dawn system of magic. To combine its schematic with other schematics may or may not work. Hard to say.
Regarding the banishing pentagrams functioning like scarecrows; is there functionality from “drawing earth to spirit” to banish thought forms in Assiah into Atziluth? And additionally, that the upright pentagram functions by serving spirit dominating over the remaining four elements?
I had been performing LBRP for months and I witnessed the 'little nasties' phenomena. I'm not convinced they are hallucinations; I feel if someone else had been around they would have been able to see them too. It lasted for some time until I banished them away, but i still saw the occasional one here and there (shadows). It was a fascinating paranormal phenomena. They seemed intelligent to me and I felt they wanted my attention. Eventually, I stopped seeing them and I haven't seen one since... and I am a little disappointed about that!
The LBRP is really part of a larger system of magic, so...within the context of the Golden Dawn's Outer Order grade system, it should be performed clockwise. That doesn't mean there's something inherently wrong with going counterclockwise, though.
We have to remember that the various grimoires out there are debased forms of magic. And on the face of it, I know how that sounds. Once you're initiated, you don't fall for the literalized interpretations of magic anymore (the kind of surface-word thinking that took over and made grimoires into the sensational tabloid-like publications of their time). Even the highly prized Abramelin book has fallen prey to debasement. How does that happen? The secrets of ancient methods were, at one time or another, leaked into the general public. And the general public misunderstood them, rewrote them, and redesigned them in terms of the general public's crude manner of thinking ("I beat reality over the head with my wand and it behaves the way I want."). Are the grimoires still valuable. Yes, somewhat. But only as echoes of secret teachings that have, for the most part, been lost. I should think that this is painfully obvious, once I just flat-out say it.
Lyam, I wanted to say thank you so much for your work! Also, I’m curious as to what your opinion is on the physical circle. Necessary? Unnecessary? Depends on the work? What would the “ideal” physical circle consist of or look like? The idea of a physical circle in our temple is never really addressed in the curriculum. Thanks again!
I had a physical circle on the floor for many years. The temple room was carpeted, so I used a white rope. Hmm. What do YOU think the ideal circle would look like?
I appreciate the response!! I’ve considered a physical circle as presented in the lesser key, but honestly without an understanding of all of it’s symbolism I’m not sure that it would be any “better” than a circle of salt.
thank you for starting these videos, I find the easy going explanations very entertaining. I've been doing your curriculum as in the book. however I have been experimenting with psychedelic mushrooms as well while doing the rituals. last year, somewhere in the zelator grade I took a super high dose of the called plants and I went through a terrible transformation process very similar to the "awakening" stories of Eckhart Tolle and such. after a few days of recovering from that, I kinda felt like I don't need the rituals anymore so I stopped doing the rituals and only did them occasionally as I felt. however until now I can't help but wonder whether it was the right choice since there was some serious warnings of not to stop the process midway in the book. I wish there was like a challenge or a puzzle of some kind that only the initiated could solve? so one could confirm whether one has achieved the desired results of the book or not, especially going through this journey without a teacher leaves you without any ways of measuring your process. I believe I myself am the best judge on this ... but I could just be naive hah
There are plenty of “tests” in the grade work, which might be worth revisiting, but more importantly, there are also crystal clear, easy to read signs of ones true attainment. The most pronounced, in my opinion, is your perception of the world and your emotional state. Early on in the book, before the LBRP, there is a simple visualization exercise: 1) to hold the image of the sun in your heart for at least five minutes, and 2) observe the effect it has on your mind-body and beyond. In my experience, when the ego subsides (even if only to re-emerge five or ten minutes later), the perfected state that arises feels virtually identical to the effect of performing this sun visualization exercise, properly. The feeling is like a force is quite literally shining through you and you feel the reality behind all of the mystical rhetoric. It cannot be fully described in words because it transcends the level of consciousness that produces language, but if I had to put a word on it, it would be complete and utter “wholeness.” This is one of the reasons it’s so easy to recognize an “enlightened” individual once you have experienced it because the quality of experience changes so dramatically, it cannot be compared to anything one has ever experienced before except for maybe experiences from childhood. In this perfected state, you are so full and happy that you literally cannot want anything… The realization reveals to you that you are MORE than enough… In biblical language, you are a cup that is full and running over… Duality disappears and all of the suffering it originates, literally all that’s left is a feeling of complete perfection. In Universal Kabbalah, this state is described as transforming the Will to Receive into the Will to Bestow. Even if it is only ever felt once, it is instantly and automatically recognized as Home.
thank you for your explanation. indeed I have felt that state and I do feel it here and there but it comes and goes , or rather I should call upon it if I want to feel it. I wonder if it's any longer necessary to continue the grade works, or do I have the "authority" to do my own custom work (which I do anyway). PS. what "tests" are you mentioning about? I don't remember anything of the sort. PSS. just a friendly question, if at such ego-less state , indeed , you feel like you don't "need" anything and you're more than enough, how do you suppose that magic works in which you bring your Will into manifestation? @@dustincaldwell2354
@@satoshisaito842 If you still feel you have a will independent of the divine, it’s still necessary to do the grade work. The recommendation is to just see it through, no matter what. Illusory desires will fall away naturally, even though more or less painfully at times. When enough ego is dissolved, you will just laugh when those kinds of questions come to mind.
Isn’t the star also a symbol for life and the order of creation due to its association with the golden rule/Pi, and its abundance in nature? And the hexagram also shares a similar story. It would be great to hear your opinion on this ✨✨✨
The relation of phi to the pentagram and pentagon is fascinating, to be sure, but it's not clear how the psyche intuitively recognizes that connection. It would seem that a spiral, like that of a snail's shell, would be a better trigger for our connection to life's hidden fractal. The pentagram, first and foremost, comes in the abstract shape of the human form--and so it becomes a kind of universal personification instrument.
@@lyamchristopher2393 The star is in flowers, plants and humans alike….its makes me aware that separation is an illusion and we all come from the same divine source. So the star is a symbol of divinity from my perspective and destiny also - a natural unfolding/actualisation. I guess it is a symbol of “me”, my divine higher self. Thank you for your response 🌟
That’s interesting. I have a mutual on Twitter that I told was starting the curriculum of your book, and mentioned that two weeks into it, I was always feeling really angry… thank you for this explanation.
To keep the "chaos" from becoming craziness, write about your experiences in a magical diary. Make meaning out of the effluvium, transmuting it into what it really is: effulgence.
Since I've started performing LBRP, I am experiencing horrible bad luck in my professional life and financial austerity. Is this supposed to work like this, given the fact that my training is not at all related to what I truly like doing, or, more likely, it isn't my in accordance with my True Will? Have I just unleashed a series of lessons that is supposed to push me in the right direction? It really feels like opening the Pandora's box, the obstacles I encounter are way out of ordinary to be just coincidences.
Conceivably, the apparent obstacles can be headed off before they manifest in the outer world? To do that, you would keep a magical journal and make make meaning out of your demons as they arise. The next video will tackle this challenge head on--if we're lucky. Let's see how it turns out.
Well done sir! Ive seen countless videos on the LBRP and almost skipped this thinking what more could you add that I didn't already know. Once again my ego was wrong. Thanks
I've noticed that in your book Kabbalah Magic, when doing the LBRP, you simply say to feel air from Raphael, moisture from Gabriel, Heat from Michael, and really no feeling at all for Auriel. Should you not feel heat and moisture for air and so on for the other elements?
Yes, you might try the following, from the article entitled "Meditation's Darkest Secret": Now facing east, visualize yourself at a crossroads. There are four paths radiating out from where you stand. One goes straight ahead across a meadow. The path to your right proceeds to the south through a desert landscape. Another path trails away behind you, proceeding down a beach and disappearing into a blue ocean. And the path to your left proceeds to the north through a narrow, rocky mountain pass. Now imagine things happening in each direction. Looking east, touch your index finger to your forehead just above and between your eyebrows. To steady your hand, you can put your middle finger on one cheekbone and your thumb on the other. Say out loud, “The Wind blows.” Keeping your index finger on your forehead, visualize the following: Storm clouds have erupted in the distance. There is lightning and thunder on the horizon. See and feel a strong hurricane-force wind rushing at you. It carries leaves, debris, and droplets of rain, hurtling them at you at speeds strong enough to cut your skin! However, your magic circle protects you. See it deflecting the powers of the air element, keeping you safe. Turn to face south, touch your forehead, and say “The fire burns.” A raging fire appears on the desert path. The ground there is apparently flammable, and the fire spreads quickly toward you, threatening to engulf you and burn you up! However, your magic circle protects you, and the fire cannot enter your meditation space. Turn to the west, touch your forehead, and say “The water flows.” See a massive wall of water rising up from the ocean, rushing at you. A tsunami! The water is moving at a frightening speed, and surely you will be overwhelmed and swept away. However, your magic circle protects you once again. It completely repels the water element. It keeps it from advancing any further than your meditation spot. Turn to the North, touch your forehead, and say... medium.com/forbidden-realms/meditations-darkest-secret-c8f3bb7a1ca0

Something I noticed is people usually say to perform the signs of the enterer and silence with the four god name vibrations but your instructions for the lbrp do not include them. Why is that?
Quick question, you said the the LBRP can sometimes induce hallucinations, can it ever induce physical phenomena because I'm hearing all sorts of creaks, & pops in my house after starting up again. EDIT: I presume these are real sounds because they are heard by others.
Magic affects the psyche which, in turn, changes the way it manifests reality. How have the creaks and pops arisen? In perception only? Probably. You are likely noticing them because your projections of trouble are being directed toward possible threats “outside”the magic circle.
It is usually best to claim control of the authorship of your realty, rather than reality itself. Even though the authorship itself is also a fiction (!).
@@lyamchristopher2393 point taken & one I also agree with. If I'm interpreting you correctly what you're saying is yes it can cause phenomenological effects but that those effects are a product of the illusory nature of reality as we perceive it? Is that fairly close?

Well, this makes sense from the perspective of the 4 elements, considering one commonly touted reason to do the LRP is to balance all 4 elements. If this is true, one has to ask what causes the elements to become unbalanced in the first place? I would think it would be unresolved trauma, unhealthy habits, general mental illness, and all sorts of psycho-spiritual muck that one neglects to clean up. It seems from your description that the lrp is more of a purification ritual than a banishing ritual?
Either that or we refine our uninitiated notion of banishment. The entities really are being banished, you know. Pushed out to a "place" where they can't take you over (hopefully) without you noticing them.
Hello lyam. Id be curious to have a conversation with you slightly about the medium so to speak of the god head coming from non-duality into incarnated trinity if existence to be the trinary nature of things. Essentially im working on a theory of the universe that predicates itself on consciousness as the key stone of reality, and how the 12 dimensional torsion field is created there from. As well as the following into the merkabahic structure of reality that then follows from the interactions between consciousness and the observed through holographic synthesis.
That sounds about right. Reminds me of the stuff put forward by the so-called Pyathagorean Illuminati and Nicolas Laos' concept of Rational Dynamicity. To give you some idea of what I'm referring to, back in the 2012 work The Kairological Qabbalah Laos posits a new Tree with the three supernals of Kether, Chochmah and Binah as the reality of being, the reality of conciousness, and the reality of the world. Tiferet as Kairicity. Yesod as Conciousness and Malkuth the Brain. Netzach and Hod - Space as a construction of conciousness and Natural space. Chesed and Geburah - Historical Time and Natural Time. A very useful model in my experience.
I checked out your Channel @vox -- I'd be very interested in hearing this if you two have a recorded conversation! It sounds very parallel to "Stalking the Wild Pendulum" which I'm sure you've read (and must if you haven't, judging by your content) and Tom Campbell's Theory of Everything, which is basically a virtual model of our level of the universe, except of course the computer is alive not dead hence self-programming. But it makes a lot of sense as to how reality is rendered...
@@tanya6243 Circular reasoning. Of course no one's sure. If we were sure, the problems wouldn't get labeled "problems." We can start, though, by relabeling problems as challenges. (And never mind how New Agey that sounds. 😆)
@lyamchristopher2393 Teacher, how can we get some books in Serbian? Also, anyone close to Belgrade for helping me get in? I know it sounds silly, maybe ignorant, but I’m into
Banishing, we could say, is a way of pressing a demon to become visible so it cannot take you over as a compulsion. It takes on a form, and you can then see it and freeze it in its tracks with a critical "parental" eye. Invoking, then, dissolves the separation between "you" and an outward appearance, rendering it invisible so that it can fill up all spaces and take you over from within. If you are worthy...or worthwhile. So why would we banish when done with an invocation? To return ourselves to a normal, alert state in which we cannot be taken over by a compulsion against our will. At least ostensibly. :)
@@lyamchristopher2393 So in a way, are we "unconsciously invoking" when we watch tv or immerse ourselves in a book because "we" disappear and kindof become one with it? I vaguely remember reading about an experiment where peanuts were given to primates and a neurotransmitter triggered an alarm every time they were received. Interestingly though, what was discovered is that the same signal was triggered when the subjects witnessed someone else receive a peanut, living vicariously had the same effect when it came to the nervous system ect. Just looked it up, I think it's called "cells that read minds" and is about "mirror neurons".
The LBRP flushes out (and "fleshes out") the invisible complexes from your psyche, revealing their presence outside of the apparently boundary of your perception. That's a form of banishment, don't you think? The effect it has, though, tends get us to bolster our defenses (or our neediness) as the demons manifest out there. Hence the ego-inflation.
I just don't understand why there is so many contradictions from 1 practioner to another. For example, what you are saying here is the opposite of what damon echols says. He says in prison, he was next to murders etc, very dangerous people, and he didn't want their energy etc affecting him, so the LBRP would keep him safe....and you are saying this isnt what its doing
Damien has talked about the difficult effects of the LBRP/neophyte work a lot. He also talks about the same non dual type stuff - I remember people were very upset when he said “there are no angels, there is no god, you are projecting all of it”… He is constantly talking about how most people don’t actually understand what Magick is… I see no contradiction.
@@jsea56 There is also no such thing as a person. We can see this when a cat decides to move from one end of the room to the other. It doesn't have to become a person to do that, and neither do we. But still, the person arises, doesn't he. He is real enough in a phenomenological way. Angels and so on "exist"--or rather arise--in that way too.
Why is it taking you so long?
@SenpaiAustin Personal choice. I prefer long rituals and I'm only a neophyte. I want to get energy ounce of benefit from my practices until I'm ready to be more chill.
You should consider trying other rituals to change your life in a direction you would like to see it go in, eventually you have to get off the porch and enter the temple.
Can anyone tell me what books with rituals I should find?
Thanks for sharing.
A good example of ego inflation right here, along with the obvious arising of the need for security from a past trauma😂 Forgive my ego inflation

I have been hopeful someone would cover this aspect of being educated on the subject before doing rituals-
Especially the LBRP- I see TH-cam how to videos on the ritual… but no wisdom or guidance as to its function.
Thank You!

Christopher
Can you share which one are you doing, I found all different and I don't think that I'm doing it right.

Hello. Are you referring to JMG’s Circles Of Power book? Did you have any success with the exorcism ritual? Thanks so much in advance :)
It’s nice to see a fellow hoonter on the path. May we be granted eyes. o7
@@lyamchristopher2393Thank you, Lyam. Appreciate the feedback.
I've frequently practiced Santo Daime (ayahuasca) spiritual works since 2019, where we use this pentagram, so this was an interesting listen.
Thank you for this video 🙏🏻Can you do one on LIRP?
Sure! The various invokings happen in the elemental grades, though, so if one isn’t doing the Golden Dawn grade work, then there’s not much point.

Think of it as a show of force. A deterrent will force a reaction from outside powers, but will make an assault less likely
@lyamchristopher2393 Hmm, fascinating!
@@lyamchristopher2393 Thank you for your response. That's a helpful perspective!
Cool stuff. A good example of how to work with the interleaving version of the Four Worlds.
Thought you were going to come with a new version of the ritual at the end, I wonder what are your thoughts on Crowley’s later version (star Ruby? The one that goes pro mou yunges etc)
Crowley is always interesting to learn from, but not to practice,

Thank you for sharing the helpful insights gained on your path, Mr. Christopher. Much appreciated!!!
Thanks for the video! I'm just now completing the curriculum in your book. I experienced exactly what you described.
Thanks for the comments. Congrats!
I suppose it wouldn't make a difference then in the process of doing the rituals wether it's one or the other 🙂 it was more for my own understanding to know if I am doing things correctly.

no need to be complicated about it.
It creates immense protection but also lets spirits know your there, good closure and ross cross ritual very protective! Easy to learn,
Exactly!!! I love your teachings!! Very helpful. The LBRP changed my life.
To me, the LBRP has the same affects as prayer - increasing our vibration naturally causes the negative energies in our lives to flare up and show us what and where our work is. Thank you!!!

I feel the LBRP is a purge in a way. It brings stuff out, it can result in a long DNS. For some reason my cat used to run away when I started the ritual sometimes the cat will seat on the couch but for the most part it will rather leave and I kind of wondered about it.

Breakthrough?@@TestingBounds
Probably. We'll see. How long does the enhanced negativity lasts??? I’m definitely experiencing it right now. Help!!!!

@@Louise-d2f What do you mean by an incubus?
"This is why ceremonial magic tends to turn magicians into @$$holes" LMAO
Dear Lyam,
Kind thanks for this highly informative video; found it very helpful in understanding.
Blessings.

@@lyamchristopher2393
Your reply has been deeply relatable.

Not even hallucinations are just hallucinations.
Hi Lyam, I’m completely new to the LBRP and was hoping you could tell me if the LBRP should be performed clockwise or anticlockwise? Thank you.
The LBRP is really part of a larger system of magic, so...within the context of the Golden Dawn's Outer Order grade system, it should be performed clockwise. That doesn't mean there's something inherently wrong with going counterclockwise, though.
@@lyamchristopher2393 Thank you so much for your help with this Lyam and thank you for all the knowledge you share with us. Very much appreciated.
Would you personally consider this to be the same or similar to the circle used in solomonic magic to evoke demons?
You already have the Hebrew words and pentagrams from the LBRP. They could adorn a circle. @@keithcrook8591
thank you for starting these videos, I find the easy going explanations very entertaining.
@@dustincaldwell2354 thank you I'll try to ponder on what you said.

Someone told me a few days ago i was already inviting spirits because i study this stuff and play with terrot ocasionally 😮😬😆
Of course!
That’s interesting. I have a mutual on Twitter that I told was starting the curriculum of your book, and mentioned that two weeks into it, I was always feeling really angry… thank you for this explanation.
Good stuff. thanks.
So it wasn’t my imagination that things became a bit chaotic after practicing this ritual daily. I often would be afraid to perform it lol
To keep the "chaos" from becoming craziness, write about your experiences in a magical diary. Make meaning out of the effluvium, transmuting it into what it really is: effulgence.
@ Thank you 🙏 your advice is very much appreciated. Will do!
That’s what happens when you continually banish earth. Switch to the LIRP.
When you talk about the cross, saying it brings in an element of sacrifice, what does it mean?
I evokes the Christian myth of the Crucifixion.
Well done sir! Ive seen countless videos on the LBRP and almost skipped this thinking what more could you add that I didn't already know. Once again my ego was wrong. Thanks
Hi can anyone do this?
I've noticed that in your book Kabbalah Magic, when doing the LBRP, you simply say to feel air from Raphael, moisture from Gabriel, Heat from Michael, and really no feeling at all for Auriel. Should you not feel heat and moisture for air and so on for the other elements?
Yes, you might try the following, from the article entitled "Meditation's Darkest Secret":
Now facing east, visualize yourself at a crossroads.

Something I noticed is people usually say to perform the signs of the enterer and silence with the four god name vibrations but your instructions for the lbrp do not include them. Why is that?
Might be better for us to infer an answer to your question, based on the video.
Narcissism is so common in the ceremonial world, the reason why I left it!
It's proof that the magic works. But of course, most of us need help from an experienced teacher to weather the ego-inflation storm.

However, the arising in perception happens both in the personal dream world and in the collective dream of “the real world.”

Hi there, Peter. BOTA looks really cool. Did you like it?
I was affiliated with a Golden Dawn temple for about fifteen years. You can probably tell that I like it. 🥰 Yes, you can email me: StudyWyzard@gmail.com
Thank you for this video
Sounds like I could learn something from you! By all means, Vox, message me on Twitter.
How do you make peace with it/them?

So if banishing flushes out the invisible complex’s of the psyche, would invoking be the opposite effect?
Banishing, we could say, is a way of pressing a demon to become visible so it cannot take you over as a compulsion. It takes on a form, and you can then see it and freeze it in its tracks with a critical "parental" eye.
Invoking, then, dissolves the separation between "you" and an outward appearance, rendering it invisible so that it can fill up all spaces and take you over from within. If you are worthy...or worthwhile.
So why would we banish when done with an invocation? To return ourselves to a normal, alert state in which we cannot be taken over by a compulsion against our will. At least ostensibly. :)
@@lyamchristopher2393 Cool! Thank you
@@lyamchristopher2393 So in a way, are we "unconsciously invoking" when we watch tv or immerse ourselves in a book because "we" disappear and kindof become one with it? I vaguely remember reading about an experiment where peanuts were given to primates and a neurotransmitter triggered an alarm every time they were received. Interestingly though, what was discovered is that the same signal was triggered when the subjects witnessed someone else receive a peanut, living vicariously had the same effect when it came to the nervous system ect. Just looked it up, I think it's called "cells that read minds" and is about "mirror neurons".
So why is called a banishing ritual??
Perhaps you do understand, but there’s a temptation to believe in the outer meanings of magic because those meanings are more exciting.
Damien has talked about the difficult effects of the LBRP/neophyte work a lot.
He also talks about the same non dual type stuff - I remember people were very upset when he said “there are no angels, there is no god, you are projecting all of it”… He is constantly talking about how most people don’t actually understand what Magick is…
I see no contradiction.
