  • Big brake upgrade guide for my fellow Z31 owners. These are just a couple common ways to do a big brake upgrade, there are many options if you are creative. Sorry mobile users, I have a 21:9 ultrawide monitor and the video may be difficult to see. View on your PC
    Other commonly used Brake caliper upgrades: T3 Z31 Wilwood BBK kit, Response type Z31 BBK, VW 17z calipers, 350z Brembo calipers and rotors, Akebono calipers and rotors, Dodge SRT8 Brembos
    Note: when using NA or 84-86 turbo front hubs, you need to turn down the hubs and install extended wheel studs to use slip on rotors. Z32 rear wheel studs fit the front and rear Z31 hubs
    Front BBKs:
    -Z32 caliper, Z32 front rotors (match 26mm/30mm rotors to caliper), S13 to Z32 brake hoses
    -CTS-V calipers, brake caliper adapters, 350z brembo or 370z rotor (depending if you use 4 piston or 6)
    -350z brembo calipers, 350z brembo rotors
    Rear BBKs:
    -(87-89 rear trailing arms needed) Z32 caliper, 87-89 vented rotors, S13 to Z32 brake hoses, use dual calipers on the rear with stock caliper + Z32 caliper to keep ebrake or use M30 rear ebrake parts
    -Subframe swap guys can use any S-chassis/Z32 rear brake upgrade kits like the CTS-V kit

    Great guide I wish I knew about the s14 been more of a direct bolt on,well to late,not much of grinding anyways.

      S13, Z32, S14 and probably skyline stuff all fit. The S14 spacing is just the closest to the Z31. I think you'll still need a couple washers, even with the S14 adapter

    Bro this is awesome. I just need the bracket to complete my brakes. Currently own a 87 Turbo and just need the s14 bracket for the 4 piston calipers and they’re sold out with the link provided. Any alternatives?

      @BLITZERKING1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      eBay for the brackets or use 350 brembo calipers

      @@BLITZERKING1 I won’t need the brackets if I go 350 brembos and rotors?

      @BLITZERKING1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timmoss9393 no but you'll need threaded inserts or drill out your spindles for M14 bolts

    What should be used for brake cylinder and booster. Should new brake lines be ran

      I use a 1-1/16" Z32 brake master cylinder, stainless steel brake hoses and a S14 manual transmission brake booster. For most brake upgrade though you can just keep the stock components unless you go really big like I did. The Z32 brake calipers are a common upgrade, you just use S13 conversion brake hoses and make the rotor fit your hubs

    So how exactly can I use 86T front hubs with the CTS-V calipers??

      You have then machined down or DIY with an angle grinder at your own risk lol

      makes life easier, more points of camber and more after market support. Also makes the suspension a lot better when drifting.
